    Almost 5 years....honestly I think most people can relate. Multiple projects going on, an actual real job, sometimes you lose a little interest in a project.....you have real life going on like most of us!!
    And no where on UA-cam will you find better 80s synth music!!

    5 years is nothing. I’m coming up on 20 years since my ‘86 Trans Am moved under its own power.
    Started watching this series about a year ago which finally made me commit to a direction with my build and start getting it done. My swap is a bit more straightforward as I’m going with an LS1 and T56, but I’m excited to finally get it running again.

    Nice job Matt Shifter and cable are good. Hey don't forget the metal staple safety clip to keep the cable from somehow coming out of the bracket.

    I just got my first car back. A 1992 Camaro heritage I got when I was 17. My son was born he rode everywhere with me in it being it was my daily. I was forced to sell it when he was 8 years old. I’m not sure who was hurt the most me or him. When he turned 15 he started hunting it and the trail feel dead at the scrap yard where it was crushed. He gave up the hunt of corse after that. He for a 89 hard top for his 16th birthday day. He started resorting it while driving it. At 19 yrs old he got himself a 2015 Camaro and really tore into his 89. Well Aug 2nd (yesterday day before) I turned 40. My son now 23 years old come pulling up at my house with my 92 heritage Camaro on a roll back. After the tears and celebrations he told me how he found it. He’d stopped hunting it like 6 or so years ago as I said when the lead died at the scrap yard. The last guy who had it said he scrapped it when he took it in on trade at a used car lot. Well my son who’s now a mechanic was working on a lawn mower about 3 months ago for a client. When he delivered the lawn mower he seen the car sitting in the weeds by the house. He tells the guy his dad (me) had a car just like that but when he was hunting it he found out it was crushed at junkyard in north Mississippi. The guy said that’s wild, I actually bought this one at a scrap yard in Mississippi. They where about crush it and I wanted it, they wouldn’t sell it hole, but since they had the clean title they would make an exception being they new him well. So my son takes a closer look and notices some dings in the fender that match the description. My son goes and digs up his notes on it where he has the vin. He goes back and it’s it! So my son explains the story to the guy. He owes my son $250 on the mower repair. He told my son to take the car instead of the $250. This passed Friday my son surprised me with it. It’s a roller. It’s a little rough. But no rust. So I’m bring it back me and him. It’s going to talk a while of corse bc of funds. But we will get there together. We are going to film the whole build for UA-cam. Not this channel I’m talking from this is my music channel. I have a daily life channel it will be posted on. The whole series.

    I used Lokar it’s built for the 6l80 platform the thing is there must be different types of 6l80’s because some of them pull down after drive into sports mode and others don’t. I’m sure this is a difference between truck and cars using these transmission but I could be wrong… I have tried to wire my sports mode using specific resistance to the components on the Lokar and no luck. The Lokar model I bought goes down to drive then pushes over into sports mode tap up tap down, but they do have some that have one more gear down.(Lokar) If you go look through “Swap Time” channel for the Lokar shifter video you can see what I mean.

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  10 місяців тому

      What transmission (car or truck) and harness are you using? With the psi harness I have there’s a wire for tapshift to engage it. Then you can apparently use a rocker switch or paddles to shift.

    • @J2A61
      @J2A61 10 місяців тому

      @@lsxmatt I had the factory Silverado harness modified. But it didn’t include tap up tap down. You can pin it out on the pig tail it’s just one wire. Then with resistance 8.25k 4.42k and 1.5k it talks to the tcm. Using Hp tuners you have to turn it on and set some tables. That where I got lost and unplugged it all until I fully understand.

    Do you think the 6L80 is worth it in the end? I have zero knowledge of it, other than what the internet says, which apparently it is trash. But I don’t buy that. Feels more like the internet being a negative-Nancy. lol

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  10 місяців тому

      I think it will be. The gearing alone is worth it, plus in stock form it still is stronger than a 4l60e. This one had a stage 3 kit so the common stuff that goes wrong with it should be addressed.

    Your coolant and windshield washer reservoir bottles are looking brand new. Im searching for a '92 application on the washer just because its dirty and stock but it has a molding to house the pump vs pre-88. Curious on the aftermarket source you use.
