    The 1994 and 2001 Patriots are my two favorite seasons. Both were building blocks being laid for the future.

    Glad the REAL Pats fans are chiming in. It was ridiculous when everyone in the media gave Marino props for throwing 5 TDs in Week 1 while disregarding the 4 TD passes of his 2nd year counterpart during the same game. Pats fan for life!

      It’s good to see Tony Eason get the respect he deserves in the end of this video. After all he led the Patriots to their first Super Bowl in his second year as a full time starter just like his more famous counterpart Dan Marino did the year prior. It’s too bad his career was ended by shoulder injuries.

    I'll never forget this season! Thought they were going to be like the 2001 Patriots and they even defeated the eventual AFC Champion Chargers. That Vikings game, I still remember that entire afternoon. That turned the season and was the first defining win of the modern Patriots era. To me, from that game onward the franchise was different. It certainly had setbacks but it was a seed that grew in 1996, that finally blossomed in 2001. Finally, the Patriots have been sold out ever since this season.

    Bledsoe.. 5 receivers with 50+ receptions!!! Bledsoe in todays NFL throws for 5k yards every year. Big Ben Coates would have Gronk #'s ALL DAY!

      @@mikelynch7271 Hahaha! Nuts. Ben Coates in his prime was an absolute stud. He can catch anything was stronger than Gronk and could definitely outrun Gronk. They played in different eras, where defensive backs could beat the living crap as well as linebackers out of anyone going across the middle before the ball was anywhere near them. The two best tight ends of the 1990s were Ben Coates and Shannon Sharpe. Either one of them is comprable to Rob Gronkowski if they played today. Your ignorance is unbelievable. You can't equate today's don't touch them receivers to yesterday. You can't equate quarterback play the same either. Guys like Marino Elway, Favre and Bledsoe would have all thrown for seventy thousand yards without a problem in today's game.

    That Crittendrn catch at 15:45 was one of the best I catches I ever saw. I was college when it happened, and it’s STILL one of the Top 5 catches I’ve ever seen in an NFL game.

      That ‘94 Vikings game to me is the first time the Patriots began the team we know today. Of course Tom Brady took over in 01 and made them into the greatest team of all time!

    • @PrinceRawD
      @PrinceRawD 3 роки тому

      @@jwguitar Tom Brady is nothing but a piece that Bill Belichick put together along with other important pieces to create the greatest 20 year run of any NFL team. And you're speaking of the Patriot Way which started when Belichick took over from Pete Carrol and really came to light during the 01 season when it was all about the "Team" (see Superbowl 36 entrance). To say that this was all because of 1 player is just flat out wrong and a great disrespect to the other players that made their contributions to said 20 year run.

    If Bledsoe was coming into the league today he’d be a 7th round draft pick. Man he couldn’t move and that delivery was so long.

    Great stuff! - This was a very strange team ... Their D kicked everyone's ass, down the home stretch of the season.
    Brutal run, at 4:06 ! (against Buffalo)

    • @MoniqueFromPlymouth
      @MoniqueFromPlymouth 6 років тому +2

      This was a scrappy team. The reason the Patriots offense was so pass-happy was because there was no running game. Don't let these Marion Butts highlights fool you.

    • @analystzorncasteel3047
      @analystzorncasteel3047 6 років тому

      Oh, I'm not fooled .. by his 'mere' 700 yards, with the Pats (the line actually BLOCKED, on the highlighted play) ... But I guess you were, then? Their offensive line sucked, at blocking for the run, most of most games, of the season. A big back needs a line .. He wasn't a change-direction-on-a-dime Barry Sanders.

    • @MoniqueFromPlymouth
      @MoniqueFromPlymouth 6 років тому +1

      Zorn Casteel | Well, being that I watched every single Patriots game live in 1994 and you're just using statistics only, you didn't see what I and other fans saw in the running game... there really wasn't any. You have lots to learn.

    • @analystzorncasteel3047
      @analystzorncasteel3047 6 років тому +1

      Doesn't matter if you lived there, and were there at games ... Lol .. No {proper} blocking = no running. Obviously you - like many Boston fans, that year - want to have Marion the culprit. Fine .. I'm not going along with you.

    • @MoniqueFromPlymouth
      @MoniqueFromPlymouth 5 років тому +1

      In 1995, Parcells erred by taking away Bledsoe's receivers (they all left in free agency), leaving Drew with just Ben Coates to depend on. Also Parcells tried to make his defense bigger (the 1994 defense was kind of small) by acquiring backup quality players. That did not work out well.
