I am very touched hearing this cantata by the wonderful musicians in Israel performing a little Jewish girl's praise and magnifying her Lord. All the soloists were fantastic as well as chorus and orchestra. I have never seen any soloists singing without scores or not looking at it. Ton Koopman and Rudolf Lutz got some competion. Especially a special thanks and bravo to the conductor training the members for precision and articulation. Bravo to you all and may God bless Israel!!!!! and the Chosen people.
Beautifully done. I'm very fussy about my Magnificat. Lovely humanness to this version. Technically flawless. This version also nails a elusive je nais sais quoi.
The best interpretation i’ve ever heard of the Magnificat. Chor, orchestra, soloists, sound, filmîng, everything perfect. What are the names of the soloists ?
May all this excellent woman prayed come to be! I'm sure you singers grappled with the text although it was in faraway latin. Bc you sing it with a fiery conviction that maybe not even "Hannes" could muster within himself. Right now, I believe firmly that it will. Bach does this to us over and over. To Jew, gentile, agnostic, atheist, the unchurched, the prisoner, the young teen black boy on a winter's night tight as can be in only a sleeping bag..taking in a little heat from the gaps under the portals and the sounds from an organ plenum inside (the great c minor prelude). St Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Salt Lake City. This strange assurance that it will be better for us flows from an order that came from out of every direction, but that is uniquely Bach's. "Herr Bach, Danke!" Maybe somehow the gesture reaches its recipient via some operation of time that Einstein came to understand better than any of us individuals? Methinks: "Ja total möglich."
