    There's an art to this ... you make it look easy. I hate applying decals.

    This is a really good technique. Its the best way to dry apply a sticker.

    Hello Jeff! Ive been a subscriber for a while and did a search on youtube for attaching decals to cars. Sure enough, HBBJ video came up which is great! I tried the wet method on one side of my Abarth 500 and it took ages. I used your method just like your video and boom! Success. I ran a string line along the car as a guide though, just to be sure.
    Thanks for the video, mate.

    I put twin turbo vinyl die cut decals on the hood of my old Taurus SHO and now I have to put 3.5 L twin turbo decals which is roughly 1" x 12" on my new Taurus SHO. I got the ones on my old car pretty perfect but I've been worried about messing up these new ones. You make it look pretty damn easy especially with 50 times larger decal lol. Thanks for the video this should make it pretty easy and error-proof!

      @@HomeBuiltByJeff thanks bro and damn nice car and good job. Your decal or stencil is 1000 times larger than mine and you put it on within minutes LOL. I was planning on using painter's tape but your video pretty much showed me the best way to go about it.

    Wow no bubbles? Without water? I tried this on my truck different decal but still and I got bubbles. I'm deciding if I should use this exact method on my Porsche

    is there a way to perfectly line up two of those stickers on either sides of a car?

    • @HomeBuiltByJeff
      @HomeBuiltByJeff  6 років тому +1

      It is difficult, but from memory I lined up the end/start of the lettering with the front edge of each door. That way it works as even as it unless you used a mirror image on one side like the old Japanese drifters used to.

    I notice you didn’t use any spray bottle with soap and water? Can you? I’m putting on my side Porsche 997 vinyl, anyone can comment if you need spray water or not? I like this method

    Hey Jeff, Really enjoy your build! Thanks for sharing the experience and tips. You've inspired me to make some how-to style videos too. I just made a video about painting the letters on tires white. Not sure if you could use the idea on your build, but it adds to the race look! Cheers!

    Hey bud, nice channel, I normally spray the area with a water and soap solution and also the back of the decal so you can slide it about to position it and then you push all the water out with an application tool. This allows you to be a bit more forgiving than trying to apply it accurately in one go.
    i'll give you a sub. Pretty similar to my channel so check my channel out as well.
    Cheers
    Martin

      I have used that method, but I don't particularly like it. It is often harder to remove the app' tape and the adhesive is not as effective. It is also not a great idea to do use the soapy water on the surface to be painted, as it can not be cleaned again properly before painting.
      Had a quick look at your channel though, and it looks like some good stuff on there. I will have to sit down and have a more thorough look. Subbed.
