I just personally hope the terrain isn’t like the mistlands. Although beautiful it’s just stupid and annoying to travel through or make beautiful bases. Additionally some new building blocks would also be nice that the materials are easily renewable. I don’t wanna farm marble for hours for one building
Bring stone cutter into the mistlands and dismantle the dverger buildings and place a portal and bring the black marble back. Stay away from that petrified bone it is such a time waister
Ashlands looks like it'll be super cool! I'm not really a Mistlands lover just because I hate bugs and fog. It's still a great update, it just goes against my taste.
Very excited. I just got back into valheim on a fresh playthrough, Never made it to the plains last time, But Im there now. I've avoided all manner of spoilers for the Mistlands and am super excited to get there and hopefully be ready for the ashlands. To me I feel They are doing it like this. Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp, and Mountain are a decent challenge, but not at all overwhelming. then you get to Plains, Mistlands, Ashlands, and the Deep North and that's where they SPIKE up the difficulty. and I love that. its like "ok at this point you should have a grasp of the fundamentals now lets take it up a notch" Game is goated.
Devs are rude sometimes, a friend asked if they gonna improve the FPS in base and they started to say "get a better computer" and "it's impossible" so I know they don't care about performance in the future or now :/
@@analien7337 6-12 months for major updates is a good pace for early access titles. Ashlands is probably 2-3 months out. Edit: Devs have said first half of 2024.
I definitely am more hyped for Ashlands than i was for Mistlands, though do have to say the 'Charred' designs are a bit underwhelming, looking like more detailed skeletons, though i would imagine their attack sets and behaviours might be unique and different judging by the different weapons they wield which is cool. And i'm excited at the idea of them adding an open-dungeon to Ashlands, definitely would be fresh and interesting as opposed to another underground dungeon layout. The rest of the enemies look pretty cool, especially the morgen, love the horror theme of it. Hopefully there's some sort of fire giants too.
11:48 could also mean that there are watch towers that damages and prevents you from reaching the walls so you need ranged siege equipment to destroy them from a safe distance. Also in Hilda's request update, there is a smoldering version of the burial grounds with a minibos skelly on fire, that has a cool aoe attack where he kneels and stabs the ground, creating flames all around him, a very nice foreshadowing.
Bro an ashlands raid event would be awesome if the update focuses on siege warfare. Imagine a new challenge of defending your base from enemy catapults and groups of charred. tbh it would make ballistas useful.
That's a very neatly complied list. I'm gonna show this video to my friends, I'm sure they'll be as excited as I am. Hopefully we'll get the update this year!
It'd be cool to see Surtling Brutes, Charred (giant skeleton brutes), maybe even Firedwarves who chuck flaming rocks at you. Maybe even Fire Serpents/Fire Drakes?
Awesome summary! For fun, I will guess that the tooth is from the Morgen. Maybe the serpents cooked when they swam too close to the Ashlands and were raised by the charred. Hopefully you can avoid them by throwing a tasty snack in the water. Cool video.
The last image , the one with the passive bird mob , it would appear that it's quite high up likely on top of a fortress i'm pretty sure they're going for the open dungeon instead of the usual tp , the last ptb update has an open dungeon i feel like they used that as a test for the upcoming fortresses , i'd say they're likely going to be vertical builds to not take up the whole biome especially with that double walled fortress concept xD, unless and don't call me crazy on that one , they use the world edge and have those fortresses sticking out of the border , anyways thanks for the video it's damn convenient having all the teasers together can't wait for the next video when we'll have enough teasers for you to make one ! ^^
If we get a motorized cart then a motorized boat is gotta be in the future. We need something to travel faster over land. Having a motorized cart that you can pull at a specific pace no matter how much it's loaded down. I don't think they need anymore biomes. 5 are good. You are going to need a top tier PC to play this game soon because your storage will be so enormous with all the materials.
I imagine the ashlands will be a new form of coal mine. Makes sense that all the burnt trees might give you a special fire resistant wood or even coal.
I would like to see some sort of new friend/foe like the Dvergr’s in the Mistlands. Maybe introduce a new faction. Would also like to see Gold introduced, along eith new material since Bronze and Silver are already in.
what about the idea of being able to 'mine or chop coal, or charcoal' in the ashlands? Either from the ground, or burned trees. (everything there is chared anyways, right?) Also could correlate to the new cart machine thingy :)
Light forest to dark forest. Murky swamps to freezing mountains. Clear plains to shrouded mistlands. I wonder what the duality will be between the Ash lands and deep north
Looks like Ashlands might become my favorite biome. For Mistlands, the content is fun and high quality. But extreme mountains + completely opaque mist are just annoying. What's the point of a new and cool biome when I can't see anything? Either let me look at the mountains, or make the mist terrain easier to traverse and find dungeons. Exploring Mistlands is such a chore…
Anyone know if we need to make a new world for this stuff? Im playing on-line with friends in a payed server and were on day 700+ building a grand base, and were a little hesitant to continue now...
I believe the way it works is that the parts of the map that you haven't explored will turn into the Ashlands. So if you haven't explored the far south of the map then i think you guys should be good
@@yes-io3vt Yeah that's also what I've picked up on the interwebs. Haven't read any words from the Devs on the subject though. Guess we'll see, and if we do need to restart well at least have 700days worth grinding of stuff that we could transfer XD

Good point
Black stone bricks would be cool

Yes, i agree. Its very pretty to look at and occasionally visit but it's miserable making a farm in
The draugr drop entrails that we can use to make sausages, it would be funny if the charred dropped something that we could turn to jerky
😂

That makes no sense. If your opinion goes against it, it must be a bad update. Cause that's how that works.

The game was worth the cost when it was released. We are lucky the devs care to complete it and do it well.

Considering how the regular serpent can chew through the ship quickly I think we will definitely have a new ship, maybe even with weapons
I swear that from all the way across the pond, I could hear the speed run gears already turning!

Wish they would work on the Oceans and Boats first. Really needs some love
More passive ocean creatures would be great. Seeing whales while sailing would feel so immersive
Can't wait for this update and to see what the new speedrun strats will be for this harsh biome
It's an eitr demolition ram. Whipped goblins run it into the walls to cause a massive explosion... ala single-player warcraft goblin bombers.
if bone serpents give me just more bones im gonna be pissed
My guess is we will need siege equipment to maybe crack open an instanced door to the interior if the fortresses.
theyre going to do a great job with this stuff, this stuff sounds very simple and fun to get into if you're done with Mistlands.
That first seige engine cart looking thing, i bet you thats a missle launcher! Also i cant wait to use those on a fuling camp to obliterate them lmao

Great overview, Nick, thanks. Could the tooth perhaps be a drop from the Bone Maw Serpent?
Thanks. Could be solid theory
I wish you'd have showed us the Morgen 3d model with the viking for scale, I was really hyped when I saw how big it is when its legs are extended

the tooth might be from the serpent thing nick 14:14
Looks to me like a portable cannon or door, that will break a material that is "Too Hard" for anything else.
Ideas for fortress time... All outer enemies must be cleared to enter? Kill quota? I agree that it has to be triggering an event.

wait so ships and the sea is not the next update?
They should add a paradise biome, base it loosely on that new anime Hell’s paradise where everything is fucked up and wants to kill you.
The tooth is probably a drop from the Morgen
I shall prepare my fire resistance barley wine.
My thought is that that tooth drop is likely from the bone serpent, would make a lot of sense.

These are super undead so they're immune to fire
