I'm honestly really surprised this video never went viral. Anyone that knows Les Mis and/or the history of France should've absolutely adored this as much as I did. I first saw this right after watching the new stage production on its world tour, still just as great as that very red & black night :)
AJ Zebadua I mean, it didn't go as viral as some things, but it has over a million views and nearly 21,000 likes. And the tumblr posts that link to it all have several thousand notes.
"Anyone that knows Les Mis and/or the history of France should've absolutely adored this as much as I did" Why? because you say so? xD everyone knows Les Mis and the history of france it doesn't mean they should automatically like it just because you do lol
+stephantom sorry but this did not go viral never saw it anywhere but on youtube for a start and it has taken like 4 years to reach a million views... I have a south park gaming video nearing that in just a few months xD
This video is awesome for 3 reasons 1) It has amazing singing and dancing, 2) It basically tells the entire story of Les Mis in 5 minutes, 3) The guy who plays Marius looks and sounds exactly like Eddie Redmayne.
I've just stumbled on this, and oh my god, it is absolutely genius. Good for you, it's brilliant, please never stop, we need more of this in the world.
I don't know what platform you're on but I will try to be as specific as possible. You can use the manual replay button, it's an arrow going in a circle and replaces the play button when the video ends. You can also hit your browser's refresh button. Or, to have auto-replay, create a playlist with just this song on it. Go to the playlist, there should be a repeat button (two arrows chasing each other in an oval) at the top, click it and the playlist will automatically start over each time the video ends. Hope that helps.
I have never heard the original version of this song. Like most of the songs like this on UA-cam, I fail to see the need to when the parodies are this good.
this was the best video I've seen all week. and is it just me or does the guy that plays marius in this video look exactly like the guy who plays marius in the movie?
This made me look up the actual song, which I had never heard before. I have to say this is sooo much better. "Parody" doesn't do this justice, this is beautiful.
This is one of the best things I have ever seen. I am stunned however that as much time and detailing went into this, nobody could teach Thenardier the words so that they could at least KIND OF lip sync correctly? lol!
This is awesome! I'd love to see you guys do something with "The Man Who Laughs", another great Hugo classic (most noted in pop culture for the fact that its title character inspired the creation of the Joker). It's a wonderful story and a song about it would be great to see. Just a suggestion. :)
This is actually pretty damn brilliant. It's not a parody; I'd say it's a surprisingly awesome cliff notes version. Even the imagery is amazing. Well done.
Gavroche lives in it. In the book he takes a couple of kids in with him as well. You have to remember that Hugo's novel was over 500,000 words long and contained a painful number of digressions unrelated to the plot. In real life there was actually an elephant of the Bastille which was built by Napoleon to commemorate his military victories, however it was never finished and it was demolished in the 1840's. If it weren't for Les Mis, no-one would know about it.
THIS WAS ROOTED DEEP IN MY MIND. I didn't know that this was from the same people from the star wars gotye parody. I remember this exact video from my childhood and it was stuck in my head at random times. I couldn't find the name of this but here it is when i least expected it.
Just wanted to say, i bought this after you published it on amazon... and This is my "i having a panic attack need to listen to much" song. I thank you guys for well Improving my life,
I still love this song. I first found it four years ago when my high school did a chior show with the music from Les Mis. Happy accident and it's still awesome.
The number of people that this is for should be very small. Very nice combination, I'm glad to see people making an idea that might only appeal to a niche on youtube.

I didn't even like the recent Les Mis movie, but I loved this video.

It's been almost 9 years since this video came out, and I still watch it regularly because it's one of my favorite song parodies ever
Yes mate!!
Sme Dude ! Same🥰
Same!
Same, but I always have to follow it up with I Dreamed a Dream
and i just find it for the first time, since i knew only german versions of parodys of this song
it's been years and i still think this is the most faithful adaptation of victor hugo's vision
This video is awesome for 3 reasons
1) It has amazing singing and dancing,
2) It basically tells the entire story of Les Mis in 5 minutes,
3) The guy who plays Marius looks and sounds exactly like Eddie Redmayne.
imagine victor hugo watching this video. just imagine
Okay this is the bEST THING
enjolras' breakdancing im
This whole thing is amazing omg
Their dancing makes the video infinitely better
4:05, person in brown ftw
Props for actually pronouncing Enjolras correctly!!
The best thing about this is Enjolras breakdancing
The guy playing Marius seriously looks like Eddie Redmayne
And sounds like him too!
Mary Zhang RIGHT?!?
@@brimartinet But are we sure he's not Eddie?
You are now-now messing with Jean Valjean and FANTINE, WENCH!" XD
Screaming, I completely forgot this existed and now I have been violently blasted back into 2013. Obsessed.
Seven years later and I still prefer this over the original song. It’s timeless like Les Mis.
How did this take three years to reach my eyes? It is one of the most brilliant parodies ever.
This is honestly one of my favourite parodies of all time.
I've just stumbled on this, and oh my god, it is absolutely genius. Good for you, it's brilliant, please never stop, we need more of this in the world.
I've watched this way too many times now xD
Same. I have a playlist of only this song.
Oh good it's not just me!
Same!!!
11 years later and this is still brilliant.
7 years later. Still fabulous
If this was an original song, not based on a movie or a book, I would STILL nominate it for awesomeness.
This must be one of the best videos I've ever seen, I fell from my chair at "when javert's in the club he spies on us"
Victor Hugo would love it.
Tu prépares l'épisode 3 de "je me perds sur UA-cam?"
Who knew Enjolras was such a good dancer?
Grantaire probabaly XD
BOOOOOOOOM #GRANJORLAS
ITS ENJOLTAIRE
Enjoltaire is life? ;)
MADE ME LOSE MY SHIT.. I think Courf's been teaching him
Maybe that's how they settle debates.... With a dance-off...
No one’s gonna mention the AMAZING camerawork and editing?!
This is why UA-cam needs a replay button
UA-cam does have a replay button. I don't understand why people keep saying this.
Brett Merrow "Replay" ... as in a button that puts the song on an infinate loop ... not the play button that shows up at the end of the video
Greg Allen

*facepalm*... Yourepeat? anyone? No?

I keep playing this! VERY creative!!!
This is poetic peak theatre i will never be able to back to any other form of media
I only want to see this
I have never heard the original version of this song. Like most of the songs like this on UA-cam, I fail to see the need to when the parodies are this good.
You are now, now revolting with Enjolras and Marius XD
This might just be my new favourite thing on the internet! Love it!
This remains one of my favorite videos on the internet
2019, this is still the best video in the history of UA-cam
Really love the sound of whoever Marius' singing voice was! Dancing Enjorlras you've made my day... :D
All these years gone by and this is still the number 1 parody of a song I've ever seen. It's just timeless? Hell yes!!
i love this video so much, i've been watching it for the past 8 years and i always still come back to watch it every now and then
I'm so deep into this fandom that even a parody moves me.
this was the best video I've seen all week. and is it just me or does the guy that plays marius in this video look exactly like the guy who plays marius in the movie?
Hahhaha, I never get tired of watching this... masterpiece! XD I laugh everytime I watch it! XD
Lol
Me 2)
i watched this video over and over when it was first uploaded and i’m still here 7 years later :’) 💛 as amazing as ever
This was amazing. Wonderful job
i’ve watched this so many times and i never get bored of it
This video is criminally under viewed.
Anyone else watching this not as a spoof but as a song in of itself?
At 1:16, mute the music, open another tab and start playing 'Wrecking Ball'. Then, wait...
I love this!
when you do this the part of the song that will play during Javert's suicide really fits.
ladyus someone needs to make a video of this that was amazing!
+ladyus Not bad
You are a genius and I love you
The "Valjean you're not alone" part is actually so wholesome 😭
7 years later and I still get teary eyed and goosebumps!
WHATS THE NAME OF THE DUDE SHO PLAYED ENJOLRAS AND HIS BREAKDANCING SKILLZZZ
+Tao Biaf Tyler Hatch
James B thanks mate, sorry I'm 2 years late
THE GUY PLAYING SLAVE VALJEAN HAS SOME NINJA COPY SKILLS OMG LOOK AT HIM
This made me look up the actual song, which I had never heard before. I have to say this is sooo much better. "Parody" doesn't do this justice, this is beautiful.
To this day I don’t know the lyrics of the original scream and shout and only the lyrics of this masterpiece
the amount of times i watched it since the uploading...... this is pure art
that was most excellent! even better if you've seen les Miserables
Can't stop listening to this... Makes me want to read Les Mis again.
I came here only for Enjolras.
Was I disappointed? Not in the slightest bit.
PIT scahmmler ich
Pit scahmmler ich
This is GENIUS! Great production value and SO clever!
This is amazing like Enj is just. Wow.
This is one of the best things I have ever seen. I am stunned however that as much time and detailing went into this, nobody could teach Thenardier the words so that they could at least KIND OF lip sync correctly? lol!
But is kind of in character
This is awesome!
I'd love to see you guys do something with "The Man Who Laughs", another great Hugo classic (most noted in pop culture for the fact that its title character inspired the creation of the Joker). It's a wonderful story and a song about it would be great to see. Just a suggestion. :)
I come back to watch this every year because I loved Les Mis & I loved the original song “Scream n Shout”. I hope you all are super successful in life
This is actually pretty damn brilliant. It's not a parody; I'd say it's a surprisingly awesome cliff notes version. Even the imagery is amazing. Well done.
This is so fantastic! And also the feels! So profoundly beautiful and sad!
How have I just discovered this? Will watch till I die
IM SO FUCKING DONE. NO SERIOUS THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER.
I guess you could say....my life didn't start until I watched this video ;D
This is amazing Victor Hugo would be well impressed
This is absolutely fantastic! How have I not seen this before?
What we thought Les Amis were doing during their meetings: ploting revolution
What they were really doing: 2:57
The best Parody I've ever heart.
Just rediscovered this after 4 years. I'm alarmed that I still know all the words oh my god

i cant get over how good this is...
This video had more creativity than the original music video XD
Javert looks like chibi!Holy Roman Empire.
Echo Valentine hetalia fans unite!🍅🐤
Super late but yeah
This is incredible..
Enjolras throwing it down on the damcefloor gives me life
THIS WAS ROOTED DEEP IN MY MIND. I didn't know that this was from the same people from the star wars gotye parody. I remember this exact video from my childhood and it was stuck in my head at random times. I couldn't find the name of this but here it is when i least expected it.
I liked the guy with the Napoleon hat (Javert?) at moments like 0:27 in particular and is it just me or does Marius at 3:12 look like a Vampire?
enjolras is bae
I have to say my favourite part about this is the guys who is Enjolras's dancing
9 years ago and still one of the best videos on UA-cam! I remember when this first came out. Awesome work guys!
This is too amazing to be considered a "parody". Also, can I just have the body popping Enjolras?! (come on, you were all thinking it)
Lol this is amazing XD
Omg i thought the Asian guy was actually a chick XD
Sassy dancing Enjolras is my favourite thing :)
I loved the fact that Madame Thenaider was played by a guy. XD
THIS IS AWESOME!
the guy, who played Enjolras especially
You can tell this is epic because you actually managed to sum up pretty much the entire movie
Enjolras dance???
now i can die in peace
Who thought this beat the original and should have been on the radio instead.
Definitely do a doctor who or sherlock parody of something
Just wanted to say, i bought this after you published it on amazon... and This is my "i having a panic attack need to listen to much" song. I thank you guys for well Improving my life,
I still love this song. I first found it four years ago when my high school did a chior show with the music from Les Mis. Happy accident and it's still awesome.
Why is it everytime I see Enjolras dance it’s like my first though is .... this is why he probaley doesn’t drink or this happens 😂😂
Who think this is better than the original? Also: Enjolras😍
One word, AMAZING!!!
P.S. Marius is very similar!! :D
Him and cossete are perfect!
Just performed Les Mis last weekend. Been watching this video over and over and over again. Love it!
Back again. Great ol' song, and a great production.
Well, I guess this explains the movie/play if you haven't watched it
ENJOLRAS HAS GOT THOSE MOOOOVES YEAAA BOYYYY
Is it just me, or does the guy who is playing Marius look exactly like the actor from the movie?
This is officially the coolest thing I've seen in a really long time. So well done. Perfect. I'm lost for words.
The number of people that this is for should be very small. Very nice combination, I'm glad to see people making an idea that might only appeal to a niche on youtube.
