Y’all should have seen it as young adults when all these legends ran the scene (Britney, Timbaland, Pitbull, Black Eyed Peas, etc). EDM had just hit the scene, too. Shit was just insane!
it's already iconic and classic, first heard this when my sister was watching a youtube video of a troupe/group/organization of swing dancers at an old regional/national event in chicago or something..had no idea it was a pop/hip-hop song at first just assumed it was swing/oldies music at first til i listened closer and eventually went in the other room and watched the video and heard it better. shocked to pieces my sister was listening to a britney song after always saying she didn't like her because she was too "breathy" in my sister's opinion, lmao. and then here she was watching dancers performing to a britney/will.i.am song and loving it, lol. gotta love it. :D ♥ people like to put britney down by saying crap like she's just a pop artist or manufactured or whatever other crap they want to say. but not only is she the queen of pop, not only did she sell out shows on vegas and could likely do the same on broadway if she ever felt like it, not only has she had mega tours and been on mainstream tv even as a kid on star search and disney stuff, but now her songs are being used for swing dancing, and i first heard her debut baby one more time album at my united methodist youth fellowship at church in the basement in the church kitchen back in 1998 and all the youth leadership approved of it, her, and her music and said it was positive and uplifting and encouraged me to listen to it and music like it. she is iconic and a cultural phenomenon all in her own right, and she was on the cover of rolling stone when she first got really popular, which is a rock & roll magazine/publication and very snooty historically about who they cover and who they put on the cover of the magazine. but you can't listen to a song like toxic, an album like her blackout album, a song like overprotected, or watch a video like do somethin' and not realize she's a rocker at heart and has that love of rock & roll music in her heart/spirit and can totally rock that attitude vibe. you can't listen to music like lucky or from the bottom of my broken heart and not understand she's also a classical/contemporary/traditional artist as well. she's essentially whoever and whatever she wants to be and whatever music she want's to record. it's why she's considered to be essentially the madonna of our generation. she can record whatever she damn well pleases and it will still do well and sell well. for all the yuppie/me/gen x generation likes to put down artists of the millennial generation, i just want to thumb my nose at them almost sometimes. what other generation can say they have artists like Madonna, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift, all effectively in the same generation, all busting through artist genre and generational supposed boundaries and just recording what they feel like recording regardless of what category its supposed to fall into and keep constantly coming back and always re-inventing themselves and still selling well and remaining popular and maintaining their fanbase and support for decades.. Madonna has been around since like the 1980s before i was even born in 1984 and still going strong in her career, Britney is still going strong after nearly 25 years since her debut album came out in 1998, Taylor Swift Debuted in like 2006 so she's already had a career spanning 15 years and seems to be gaining popularity fans and selling more and more records and just really starting to hit her prime. 3 Artists of a Generation that all deserve to Hall of Fame status/recognition all in the Same Generation basically or close enough... and that's not counting all the other amazing artists that have come out in the past 3-4 decades in several different genres. In a normal generation a talent like Christina Aguilera would traditionally be world-renowned and top of pretty much every list imaginable accross multiple categories, she has a Cher level of talent, she's had a career just as long as Britney, and will likely be around as long as Cher has, and has a Voice powerful enough to literally knock you over, she's just a powerhouse vocalist bar none. but yet in this generation she's often forgotten about or an also-mention, with no intention of disrespecting her or her talent, there is just that much talent in this generation plus with globalization and things like youtube its easier to discover new artists and talents etcetera creating a much wider musical pool. most artists no matter how popular they become or how many gold records they have, are usually lucky to have a career lasting the better part of a single decade, very few exceptions to that exist, mostly in country music where fans almost never give up on the artists they like and continue to support them typically for 20-30-40 years or more in many cases, people like kenny rogers can cross over from a totally dead rock or pop career and last 2 decades or more as a country act if they pull it off. britney has already been around for nearly 2 and half decades, recording any type of music she darn well pleases for the most part irregardless of genre, almost all of it successful, even her "britney bitch" catch phrase has been around since at least her blackout album released in 2007, so even that catch phrase has been with us and remained popular for nearly a decade and a half now, twice as long as most successful artists entire careers span. and britney has done it constantly in the public spotlight since she was a little girl performing in ed mcmahon's star search globally watched/successful tv show and "been the american dream since she was 17" as she says in one of her songs and constantly criticized and lambasted and put down and her every move recorded, been through at least one or two 5150 psychiatric hospital holds/evaluations, had custody of her own kids taken away several times, had her own life taken from her multiple times by shady industry people and then by her own family after the conservatorship was implemented. and yet she's still strong enough to make it through all that and be supremely successful and thumb her nose at the entire world and say fuck y'all and kiss my ass and totally get away with it and people love her all the more for it generally. so its not just this song that's iconic even though it is, britney is a timeless icon an instant classic in her own right beyond her music, we won't ever see her like again.
I was tripped out to learn it was actually Tulisa's voice on parts of the song. I just thought it was Britney doing her faux British accent as she's been known to do on occasion. It's good that Tulisa's now credited as a contributing writer of the song.
I like the dancers that they picked for the video. Their dancing and style were everything. The whole video screams Will I am minimal aesthetics. It is very effective. Britney's hair, makeup, outfit and jewelry for the close up were cool. I think she should keep singing these kinds of techno/pop songs. They fit her.

This is going to live on as a timeless classic. How fortunate of us to have been alive along side side these two iconic artist.
I watch this when first came out its og song
Wow
@@idk7981 really
it's already iconic and classic, first heard this when my sister was watching a youtube video of a troupe/group/organization of swing dancers at an old regional/national event in chicago or something..had no idea it was a pop/hip-hop song at first just assumed it was swing/oldies music at first til i listened closer and eventually went in the other room and watched the video and heard it better. shocked to pieces my sister was listening to a britney song after always saying she didn't like her because she was too "breathy" in my sister's opinion, lmao. and then here she was watching dancers performing to a britney/will.i.am song and loving it, lol. gotta love it. :D ♥
people like to put britney down by saying crap like she's just a pop artist or manufactured or whatever other crap they want to say.
but not only is she the queen of pop, not only did she sell out shows on vegas and could likely do the same on broadway if she ever felt like it, not only has she had mega tours and been on mainstream tv even as a kid on star search and disney stuff, but now her songs are being used for swing dancing, and
i first heard her debut baby one more time album at my united methodist youth fellowship at church in the basement in the church kitchen back in 1998 and all the youth leadership approved of it, her, and her music and said it was positive and uplifting and encouraged me to listen to it and music like it.
she is iconic and a cultural phenomenon all in her own right, and she was on the cover of rolling stone when she first got really popular, which is a rock & roll magazine/publication and very snooty historically about who they cover and who they put on the cover of the magazine. but you can't listen to a song like toxic, an album like her blackout album, a song like overprotected, or watch a video like do somethin' and not realize she's a rocker at heart and has that love of rock & roll music in her heart/spirit and can totally rock that attitude vibe. you can't listen to music like lucky or from the bottom of my broken heart and not understand she's also a classical/contemporary/traditional artist as well. she's essentially whoever and whatever she wants to be and whatever music she want's to record.
it's why she's considered to be essentially the madonna of our generation. she can record whatever she damn well pleases and it will still do well and sell well.
for all the yuppie/me/gen x generation likes to put down artists of the millennial generation, i just want to thumb my nose at them almost sometimes.
what other generation can say they have artists like Madonna, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift, all effectively in the same generation, all busting through artist genre and generational supposed boundaries and just recording what they feel like recording regardless of what category its supposed to fall into and keep constantly coming back and always re-inventing themselves and still selling well and remaining popular and maintaining their fanbase and support for decades..
@@isabellaereshki wow uh you really told them
