Whilst every style of beer explained may not be all the craft beer channel may not be about, looking in to how you've been drinking beer wrong your entire life, how beer is made, brewing your first homemade beer, talking to beer experts, identifying cheap vs expensive beers, price points, and answering beer questions from brewmasters is all a part of my real ale craft beer journey.
Samuel Smith’s Chocolate Stout is my favorite stout out there. I’ve tried 100’s. This is the one.
It's absolutely the most chocolatey I've ever had I must say!
Not a beer drinker, but this is one of my favorite fucking beer. Everything about this is perfection, the taste, the smell, oh my god the smell is fucking amazing. Drinking this chilled makes it 100 times better.
It is very very good! Chilling it causes some of the more roasty bitter notes from the core stout to drop off, so if you're not in to those then it's the way to go - all personal preference of course! Cheers!
Samuel Smiths are an incredible classic brewer, I have tried the Organic Larger and Organic Dark Ale and they were both very good beers. This chocolate stout sounds amazing !!
Nice! I have their impy in too, hopefully it's as good as the rest!
I had it on tap , tastes like a chocolate bar
This and Porterhouse dark truffle chocolate stout are how chocolate stouts should be done

1/3 chocolate stout, 1/3 imperial stout and 1/3 cherry ale - Samuel Smiths
A very very booze black forest gattuex/cake!
Awesome review mate.
Cheers buddy! Now that sounds like a video in the making. I'll have to give it a try!
Had my first bottle yesterday in brudenell social club, Leeds was £3,65 tbh I got it because guinness was off and boy was I glad it was when I tried this haha
Haha! I'll always have a soft spot for a really good well poured pint of Guinness, but when it comes to properly interesting flavoured stouts this is another level indeed! Cheers!
I didn't know they stocked sam smiths stuff at Brudenell! Then again, it's been about 7 years since I last went there haha
@@whatamalike I only go in once every few months when my mates up from university. They are constantly changing their beers so it might not be on everytime 👍
I had this last night and absolutely love it!
I got the 6 variety pack that also includes nut brown ale, oatmeal and imperial stouts, taddy porter and a pale ale. Ended up supping em all last night except the pale ale 😂
Haha! I've had the Taddy Porter and the Impy, I've got a Nut Brown in the fridge at the moment! Cheers!
It's like the Ford focus of beers , reliable and around enough that if you just fancy one it isn't hard to find.
Another great review
Haha, great analogy! Cheers pal!
one of my favourite beers at the moment, just a nightmare to get down in Devon.
Yeah it's a rare sight round my way too tbh! Always an online order for Sam Smith's stuff for me!
@TheCrumbyBeard well I'm in South Yorkshire and tbh apart from the lagers, cider and ale on tap at the sam smiths pubs near me, I can't get other stuff anywhere else. So it's not even southerners who can't get their stuff easy haha
Please try the Oatmeal and Imperial stouts, they are also top drawer 🙌
The Impy is in the fridge! Will pick up the Oatmeal when I see it. Cheers Jim!
Nice review mate - I love this and for circa £3 for an almost pint bottle, it’s such good value.
Yeah it's an odd size bottle right?! Maybe it's a US market thing as I know they export a fair bit? But yep absolutely, great value. Cheers Lee!
Very nice this Tom…..had it at my local wine merchant/bottleshop last Xmas …Sam smiths arnt far from me ….don’t like other beers they do but this is delish 👍👍👍take care mate …
Cheers Mark! I have their impy in the fridge, I think that'll be interesting!
Fantastic review Tom
Cheers mate!
Had it today and loved it
It's crazy sweet so I can understand why some may not, but if you're in the mood for it, then yes it's very good indeed! Cheers!
I adore this stout!
Is this one you can still get in the US? Cheers bud!
@@TheCrumbyBeard Yes, but much less commonly than ten years ago.
Love Sam Smith beers, you after try the organic pale ale a fantastic beer, people often forget how good Sam Smith beers are, fallen out fashion to modern brewerys, sam Smith beers are real ales😊
Cheers Mark! I’ll be sure to try any of their stuff on cask when I get the chance. Cheers!
would one like this if they don’t like the taste of beer?
Interesting question - so it depends how much you didn't like beer and what part of beer you didn't like. It does still have distinct dark malt bitterness, but is very low on hop character so that IPA and light beer zesty bitterness doesn't really exist. Hopefully that helps?
@@TheCrumbyBeard well the only stout i’ve had was guinness draught and to me it tasted like very bitter with that beer taste
@@chocolatemilk9102 this is very different for sure - it is relatively speaking a lot sweeter and less bitter
@@TheCrumbyBeard yea it seems like everyone is saying it was great for their first beer and people were saying it didn’t have that beer taste, i don’t like american beer that much but i do like mexican beer. I will have to give this a try though i love chocolate
Honestly it was the most disgusting beer I have ever tried, wayyyyyy too sweet , contemplated throwing it down the sink but eventually I had to throw in a good few ice cubes to water down the sweetness and finally managed to drink it, but never again. Shame cos their taddy porter is very nice
It's a very fair complaint - I see this more as a dessert-beer, like one after a meal when you don't fancy any more food, wouldn't mind another pint, and still want a bit of a sweet fix - but, to be fair, that is very niche so I can see why people may order this and come away disappointed.
If you serve this beer cool it's not as sweet
@@TheCrumbyBeard yes I will have it after Xmas dinner this year I think 🤔 Have a few bottles spare 😂
