I find some of these interviews with Paul and Adam where Paul's basically asked "why would you wanna make a movie with *him*?!" while Adam's sat right there kinda weird. I understand the question but it still seems really rude

Sandler's a hilarious guy who's always chosen that silly goofy brand of comedy. That's just what he loves doing. He could do other stuff too and he has sometimes done more mainstream comedy movies but yea this is what he loves doing.

What I just loved in Adam Sandler's PDL performance was that he would do the Sandler schtick in it right up to the punch line, and then--no punch line. Omitted. Again and again. This simple change shifted what he was able to convey from laughter to heartbreak. It still breaks my heart for his character when I watch this performance.

It's funny, I find young Anderson even more fascinating now, knowing he was jacked on coke back in those days. At least all that drug fueled bravura made it to the screen. It's also a little comforting knowing he is human and had to 'medicate' himself as he adjusted to fame and acclaim. It's one thing being quietly confident and self assured, but quiet another when those around also acknowledge the fact that you are probably the best at what you do.

it's worth remembering that we all have senses of humour that are ridiculous, or childish, or silly, or goofy or inappropriate when we're behind closed doors and with our most trusted people. all sandler has done is turn that inside out, shown it to everyone and made a career out of it. even if you don't like what he does, ridiculing it really is hypocritical. after all, like louis CK once said, "farts are funny". he's not wrong.

Reign over me, as a concept, was amazing.
The script was lacking at times, and Adam at times lacked depth.

"Get some of that Sandler money!" Kinda funny that Punch Drunk made the least money out of all PTA's films (after Hard Eight) and the least out of all Sandler's movies. LOL. It's a great movie nevertheless, and it proved Sandler could be taken seriously in a dramatic role, although he seemed to prefer sticking with his forte after Punch, until another great drama in Uncut Gems.

In fairness, you have had 18 or so years to ponder the film. You have had time to dwell on it, gain insight etc, but this show came out when the movie came out, so it's no surprise there is so little in depth talk.

I enjoyed Rose's interview but he would often talk too much as if people wanted to hear his thoughts. We are there to hear your guests - no cares about what you have to say. Just ask the right questions. Also Rose would come across as trying to be one of the guys, like he was friends with his guests. Which he was not. Finally - It would have been nice here if he stopped fawning over Sandler and let the great PTA speak more. Unbalanced intervoew.
