Great video I’m 59 and starting
HRT my wife is some what supportive. She sees my dysphoria and goes to gender therapy with me. But is totally freaked out about anybody finding out. So I’m taking it one day at a time. And I have given a lot of thought to losing my strength. I have been a blue-collar worker my entire life. I feel I have been living my life for everyone else. And it’s time for her to come out of hiding. I just pray my marriage will survive. You two are a great inspiration for us thank you for your videos

Thank you Dannie, we wish you and your wife all the best. We hope you both are pleasantly surprised and accepting of the changes. In our case, EVERYTHING got better - including Audrey's attraction to me. We went through a freak out period as well - but it was a timing thing - When do you tell, who do you tell, are you going to lose family? friends? etc. After the dust settled was when we came into our own. Before transitioning we talked a lot and made the decision that we were willing to let go of family and even move if we had to. Coming to terms with that prior to transitioning made the scary coming out period much more manageable. Open conversation - but sensitive to how much each of you can handle at the moment. Much Love :)

Not bothered myself about losing any strength. Never had much strength to begin with. I struggle moving a 25KG bag of anything. Am like I can't even lift this never mind moving it. Then someone comes along and they lift it like it is made of feathers. I had a brand new freezer delivered 2 months ago and the delivery man carried it on his shoulder and I was like struggling to move it into my kitchen. Unpacking it was also a chore. I asked the delivery man if he would bring it into the kitchen and he said they were not allowed to do that because of the crisis(he just put it just inside my front door) which was a bummer. Had to wriggle it through a hall way and push it to near the place it was going to go.

I really appreciate your videos. I was also born in 1971 and I want to start transitioning. My spouse started transitioning 2 years ago. Unfortunately, we live in the Southeastern US. Transitioning MTF he can be unsafe for me and my family. I also work in a male dominant field. It’s becoming more difficult each day to live as a male and moving right now isn’t a possibility.

Changing Gender Everyone I know realizes I’m intersex, that is something that was hard to hide when you come down with a form of testicular /ovarian cancer. After that I became very open about my gender presentation as a whole.
The real issue for now is I’m changing jobs soon and worry about how that will work as I’ll be working ridiculous hours on 5th is new position.

@@hannahmich7342 OK, wow! I did not know that about you. I hope your treatments went well and are well on the road to good health. Yeah, I've still got a bit of a wait before surgery but as it is, I work 10-12 hours 7 days a week. My wife and I are small business owners so when surgery does happen - We're with you - we don't have a plan in place as both of us will be gone for 2 weeks and then I won't be able to do much for the next month and a half after - we can't just close the business. That's going to be a tough one for you with a new job. We wish you all the best!

    • @hannahmich7342
      @hannahmich7342 4 роки тому +1

Changing Gender I really wish you well on your surgery. I realize having to support yourself while having surgery will be difficult. But you have time to plan ahead for some aspects of running your business but it will always come down to one or both of you being there to run it.
I’ve been fortunate that during my twenty some surgeries I recovered fully. I’m sure you will come though your surgery just fine.
I’ve been operated on my bottom area so many times that I tell friends in having SRS on the installment plan, it’s cheaper that way. Lol
      As a side note.
The first of the cancer surgeries was done to remove one of my testis. The doctors insisted that there was nothing wrong with this particular testis but I knew other wise because it was enlarged for over six months. I insisted the testis be removed and they agreed. The surgeon said he would remove the testis though my abdomen and in as much as this was such a simple surgery he would not put me to sleep for the surgery. I was wide wake, oh fun. The moment he cut into me a 10 cm malignant germ cell teratoma erupted from my abdomen. Oh well ! This was just the beginning of my seven month horror story.
The next surgery was done at the Mayo Clinic and during that surgery my whole abdomen was opened to remove a 17.5cm mature germ cell teratoma. The difference was this was more of a fetus. It had limbs, body, eyes and some organs. It was in me from birth. To say the least what I have is very very rare.
I see myself as being both intersex and transgender. I also tend to see all transgender people as having a form of intersex body development. Keep in mind there are over 40-50 different types of intersex conditions.
Just live your life with love and humor. When one doesn’t work the other will fill in the gaps. Lol

Hey Brittany, Good to hear from you. It is going well. There really isn't much to report - other than I'm just settling into my own. I finished 6 weeks of speech therapy last month. Still working on laser for my face - maybe 1 or 2 more treatments. Life has been good on my side. My wife's health took a downturn this year, so I've been busy with family life. She and I run our own company so I'm now doing both of our jobs and providing care for her - It's a bit overwhelming some days trying to keep up to everything. I'm hoping to actually post a few updates before spring. How about you? How is your transition coming?

@@MrBhofff Speech was really good. It connected the dots from what I found on UA-cam and filled in the missing parts. Now comes the hard part - Use it. Use it. Use it. Every single time you open your mouth until it's habitual - Easier learning the techniques than putting them into practice. It's like learning to talk all over again. Wishing you well and hoping you'll come to a resolution at home. I am really blessed to be married to my best friend. She fell in love with the female side of me years before we knew. Transitioning only made it better. I wish that was the case for everyone out there.

Hi James, Yes. It's been a little over 2 years now since I transitioned and everyone knows. We've lost a few family and friends along the way. Before transitioning, we talked openly with our teenage kids and gave them the option of me holding back transition until they were done high school. They both said, "Why would you do that? You need to start living now." Our kids and our marriage has actually grown stronger since transitioning. I think we're a bit of an anomaly, but it's been really good.
