    Great episode!
    For freedomwaffle - if you have pact of negation, do you use it in your turn 1 naus example? You’ve already seen 3 pieces of free fast mana which is nearly half of the 0CMC ramp in the deck and you leave yourself in a tougher spot since final fortune or accumulating a turn 2 kill from the naus has a pact trigger more than likely. (I’d probably still do it cause borne and such but curious on your thoughts!)

      @freedomwaffle_  9 місяців тому +1

      Great question, that's a hard one TBH. Probably yes since I don't need much more to survive the pact and it will put me so far ahead if I can survive. If I used more rituals for the Naus I think I don't!

    hi :3 i clicked this video because rebell son is in the title
    the cheating is very bad, the discourse of "i can go there and cheat and nobody will do something about it" is correct, especially when in the official pro tour tournaments and qualifiers everything is so strict that some pro players abuse it in their favour
    i knew about cEDH players doing politics like in casual commander, but lying in a tournament?...well, the community is so little, even if global, so i think now everyone will never do politics with "shadezvenomz" (or give him trust in general)

    If you lie , you’re a scumbag period. You didn’t win because you’re good,you won because you lied. Lying should not be condoned. If you need to deceive people to win what’s that really say about that person and their actual skill level

    Great stuff. As a counter take to Rebells lying points, it's hard to disagree with pkaying to the best of your abilities, but if lying is the best of your abilities that speaks volumes of its own. I get shes not advocating for straight up lying, i just think lying is not the best of anyone's abilities, especially not in the long run. You lose any political clout you might be able to garner, absolutely not worth it.

      @089Memo90 9 місяців тому

      I agree that this should give you a certain reputation. We will have to wait and see if it actually turns out to be that way and if people really remember who lied in tournaments.

    • @toctheyounger
      @toctheyounger 9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah. I think it'll take some time for that reputation to wear off, but it could. I just think, while it's acceptable in terms of legality, I can't imagine a scenario where it's the best thing you could be doing with the tools available to you.

    • @floridaman6982

      I still feel like asking a player if they are winning in general is so stupid it doesn’t even warrant a real answer. what will I say? “yes I am winning use your interaction on my silence effect” how would yall answer bc it gets asked ALL the time?

    • @toctheyounger
      @toctheyounger 9 місяців тому

      @@floridaman6982 yeah it is a dumb question. That said, not sure if you've seen the footage, guy like spends turns spouting off about how he's got nothing. So yeah, prob a dumb question, unless you're asking like 'ok cut the BS, you winning or not?' but also from the other side clearly the guys communication was pretty disingenuous. I mean it worked for him this game, gonna be diminishing returns from here on in though. And I stand by my point, it's not the best moves he would've had available.

      About the "not lying coz of future games", there will be always a need for someone to negotiate with the devil. But ofc this isn't something to do everytime.

    I want to say someting about lying in cedh. At first i want to talk about the strategic side of lying and than about the moraly side. So, like freedom said: lying is short term and truth is long term so if youre looking forward to grind tournaments( like hes doing) people will trust you, also there are more people who are telling the truth than people who are lying( for example rebell freedom and memo are all agreeing that their telling the truth), that means that if youre lying and youre thinking youre opponents are lying you proof youre intuitions wrong because you practice that evrything is wrong what people are telling around you and also everything youre saying is wrong and now you cant trust anyone including yourself( same in real life). Now to the moraly side of lying: I compare lying in cedh with cheating because at both sides you create an unfair situation where nothing makes sense anymore because its just not true what has happend. If you made it to the end of this text than........love the podcast:)
