Thank you so much for this wonderful video. Your voice is so calming, and your hair is absolutely gorgeous !!! It was stated that less stress on the hair once it has been blow dried straight and the hair won’t break off since it’s straight. What is your view on that?
@@talesatrout2836 Hello and thank you ☺️ So I’ve heard both arguments. I think both are absolutely true depending on your own hair. Hi Jettie, I just subscribed to your hair channel, and Thank you for sharing your hair stories. I sure love to grow my hair all the way down to my breast. Do you know the name of the hair products regimen to grow my hair long and beautiful like yours. Thank you!! ❤
I have been natural since 2011. It's at shoulder length from a long time but it seems like it just doesn't grow anymore. I do admit that I am not caring it the way I use to because it was all too overwhelming. But the most important takeaway for me is that natural hair doesn't seem beautiful to me. I don't know if it fits my face. I just don't know how to style my hair to look pretty. So I braid my hair a lot and that makes it so heavy and uncomfortable. How do I get past the initial discomfort in how the hair fits my face? I grew up believing that straight hair looks sleek and glamorous and natural hair was mostly old people. 😊. So how to go forth now
@@sandrapowell7787 Hey Sandra, so I totally understand your disposition and it’s quite relatable since a lot of girls with hair like you and me aren’t taught to see the beauty of our hair at a young age. The first time I fell in love with my natural hair is honestly when I stopped expecting it to do things that it wouldn’t do or that it wasn’t meant to do. I started to appreciate my hair for everything that it was and what it did do and I started to seek the beauty out in my own hair. So you see starting out we first have to address the stigma surrounding natural hair and myths. We must condition our own mind to understand. Our hair is beautiful, and that really natural hair has its own unique properties that we can enhance and grow. next I set out to make sure that my hair and it’s health was put as priority. so for me, I’m not really big on like twist or like wearing smaller braids or you know other more common natural hairstyles. I like to style my hair in the shower in braids, buns or whatever I’m feeling like doing that day and then just kind of style around that. I also played around with a lot of styles until I found ones that fit me. I don’t like to wear my hair out it’s natural state (too much tangling). I prefer to more so sleek & styled but without putting too much tension or causing damage to my scalp. So Sandra, I urge you to perhaps go on Pinterest or lemon8 and find hairstyles for natural hair and then attempt to make your own version of those styles. Trust me anything you can do with other hair you can do with natural hair too. You just have to find the way you like to style your hair. Also, with shoulder length hair we want to make sure that we keep the hair up a majority of the time off the shoulders as the ends tend to have more friction and obviously because it’s shoulder length and it’s like kind of brushing back-and-forth on your shoulders and you know so it could be a lot of friction at that length. This friction over and over again all day can lead to breakage. So the best thing you can do to your hair right now is give it lots of moisture and make sure you’re putting a very good leave in it after rinsing out your shampoo and perhaps even leaving a little bit of conditioner in for extra moisture. Make sure you’re shampoo and your conditioner are correct for your hair and your are very moisturizing and get your hair off of your shoulders and try to put water on your hair at least 3 to 4 times a week and when I say put water on your hair, I mean in the shower, not just like a spray bottle but dowsing your hair with water and conditioner in the shower and you probably only have to shampoo about once a week but right now at this stage if you wanna move past shoulder length you really need to focus on moisture, getting your hair as much water as possible and also getting your hair up and off of your shoulders .
