I really like how Ian listens to his guests tell their story without interrupting them! Love the channel
Thanks so much!!
@@ianbickCT You’re welcome!
Ian asks great questions too, while not interrupting
@@J_Shawn_Paul Facts! He really does.
Unlike Mr Johnny Mitchel lmao
W podcast!!! Love how yo ACTUALLY LET THE GUEST TELL THERE STORY AND DONT INTERRUPT
Appreciate you!!!
This was such an entertaining interview. I was enthralled. It has everything: Capture, escape, crazy party prison with chicks..you name it! I think this guy has a future in the prison podcast genre. God on you Ian, for helping him out.
Wow!! Oscar congratulations on your interview and I can definitely vouch for him!! Cause I am the tall white boy, green eyes that spoke to him in English with no accent in the first jail and survived!!! Loved every second of the interview!!!
How did you end up in there dude?
Seriously, what are the chances you come across this interview? That gnarly
The guy who was banging the psychiatrist? 😅
God bless you, Alex.
Y'all are full of shit. Fake ass story time with a clown. Just like dude has all his "Cosmetical" shit on his dresser. It's Hygiene douchebag 🤣😂🤣. Anyone that's ever done any time would know what it's called in the joint.. He said Cosmetical 🤣😂🤣😂🤣👏🤡🤡 Thanks for the laugh dummy 👊👊
This guy is smart, glad he got arrested, glad he got a second chance. He obviously learned his lesson. Quite possibly the experience saved his life and gave him a better perspective on life. I hope he does well in life!
“glad he got arrested” is craaazy
Obvious bootlicker.
He ruined thousands of peoples lives selling Heroin in poor neighbourhoods.
you are just as stupid as he is....
Great interview, it's good to see someone who takes accountabiliy for their choices growing up and didn't blame the parents like the overwhelming majority of others do.
Is that really what the majority do? Examples?
The overwhelming majority of those blame society
(and play the victim).
@@ahashdahnagila6884it's society that lets politicians make rules to rule US
So where does he show any remorse for destroying people and communities by selling heroin?
Teah showing remorse by presently profiting from his criminal life.
Thankfully Oscar had the good fortune of having a loving and supportive family.
We all are aware of how horrible it is when Americans get busted for drug’s in foreign countries.
I’m glad Oscar made a successful career for himself after getting out of prison.
Thank you
He sold heroin and ruined communities and peoples lives. WTF?
Wow I was living in Quito teaching English at the exact same time this dude was there from 2001-2004. Great storyteller! We went to the jail in Quito and brought food and stuff to all the gringos in there who got busted for trying to smuggle blow! It was a wild time that's for sure...
I lived in Quito in 1993-1995. My exhusband worked for an oil trading company. It was definitely a corrupt place.
@@theriddlerUSAJust like America 😊
@@bluesky6985 Right on! Our corruption is hidden a little more.
@@theriddlerUSA Not anymore. Now it's in our face

Bravo Ian awesome interview !!!!❤❤❤
Great show Ian and Oscar! This one ranks in my favorites.
Another great interview Ian! Keep up the awesome work bro!
Thanks so much
I enjoy listening to this guy. Well spoken, nice and calm, great story
When they tell you it's going to be fine look out 😊
Good show dude . Education for these young fellas that think this is the life .
DONT DO IT !!
It's absolutely a perfect gift for Ian..
he looks like a cartoon character
Amazing how this guy has a podcast with his lame questions
Kevin said that the the guest is a perfect gift for Ian because he, the guest, is a cartoon character. I agree because he's sitting in a dimly lit room with dark glasses acting like he's in a cheap knock-off 007 movie. He's what now, a 45yo middle age guy living off of 1 story. Funny Sad & Pathetic
Well now, ONE other person who doesn't think Oscar hung the moon and stars! I thought I was alone.
@padebro2683 Don't forget to follow, like and subscribe!😅👌😂
Bravo. Great interview and best to Oscar.
Its been awesome watching your channel grow. Ive missed the last couple vids catching up now. Appreciate content man 👍
Thanks so much!!
Great Show! I rarely watch stuff like this for more than 10 minutes. I watched it all! This is great content!
I wish my man all the best, sounded like the name Rehabilitation Center did work after all.
Thank you!
Wes Watson held those keys in Ecuador.
Wes Watson the guy exposed for never even being on a level 4 yard 😂
paper work AND passport HOOPED!
Wes hooped the last prison he was in when he hit hit a new level 12 yard!
His story sounded pretty grounded . I think he is the real deal because the guys act like they had to beat up the toughest guy there . He is real I believe . For what it’s worth .
Bless 2 Oscar. I love the fact that he keeps saying it is what it is but don’t make the same mistake and learn from it . What’s your UA-cam channel called.
This was definitely a great story to pay attention to. I’m already looking for part 2.
This is gon be an interesting one
GREAT STORY!!! Thank you both!!
All the best to your guest, wife, mother, family!!
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Great interview Ian, Im from Ecuador sounds like he did his time in Penal Garcia Moreno, the prisons there are completely different than here in the USA. The only thing is that there is no life sentences in Ecuador. Keep up the good content Ian
I appreciate you man
In the Ecuadorian prison system, 30 years is the maximum sentence.
People in prison called that a life sentence, at least they did when we were there.
Great episode!
Nice guy crazy story, definitely need a part 2 with more war stories…. Great job Ian ❤
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. 🙏
This guest needs his own Podcast
That’s coming soon bro
Sure, right loser. Another piece-of-shit lost in cyberspace.
Excellent, Gracias ❤❤❤.
Great video, but when did he go blind
I have Ecuadorian parents & we’re from New Jersey too so this story really hits different. Glad dude was able to make something out of his life great inspiration story
New favorite interview!!!
Thank you!!
Sooo Proud!!!!
Really great show!!
Wow amazing story love to hear more about it
With a name like Castro, it's got to be good...?😮
Haven't watched yet, but happy to see he cleaned up his life and works as a professional painter now
Man he really kind of had it made in the first prison.
What a great guy and what a blessing to have a supportive family like he has. There must be a hell of a lot of prisoners that aren’t lucky enough to have that
During his story of the prison, all I could imagine was "Sona". The prison in Panama from the "Prison Break" show. 😂
You watch to much tv
Dude you need to watch the movie Midnite Express it is based on this person named Billy Hayes he gets busted by Turkish authorities trying to board a plane at the airport with I forgot how much Hashish strapped to his body gets sent to this Turkish prison dude I will let you watch it this was in 1978

I lived in Ecuador for 30+ years. Cool story. Spot on as well. Im just thinking, that kid interviewing the guy, they would make out of him a rag doll. The prison rag doll😂😂😂.
That was a really amazing story and interview.😃
hat was a great podcast, first I have heard you just popped up on my feed. So glad I listened what an amazing guest and very inspirational. Hope he does make his own pod cast as he presents so well. You have a new sub :)

the best part of the story was the love story at the end
They in there parting like rock stars... crazy!
This was a great interview! Wow! I think that Oscar would really do well as a life coach for the simple fact that he has been through so much and still seems to be a very positive and encouraging person! He served his time and turned his life around for the better! ✌🏾
Thank you I appreciate it.
Crazy life. I hope he can make up for all the damage he caused with the drugs. I feel it is strange that he never mentioned any remorse for that harm, but maybe has voiced this aspect privately. Anyway, I wish him success. Meeting the wife is such a cool story.... and Ecuadorian!!!
You should have Amanda Knox . We want to hear her story???
Reminds me of the movie get the gringo with Mel Gibson
Pa lante mi hermano! Wish you all the best!
This one hits home. I’m about the same age as him, from Jersey. I’m in Colombia the same year as him, I was an actor doing commercials for rexona (deodorant brand in Colombia). It was so dangerous back then. Every time I was down there I was approached with some offer to bring cocaine back to New York. It just wasn’t my thing but anybody could get caught up in it. Hope Oscar is doing good and glad he made it out
Thanks man I'm doing great! Stay tuned for my pods coming soon
@@GLOBALOCKDOWN all good my man. I still remember bogota airport with lots of military with machine guns and drug dogs. Back then they were kidnapping lot of foreigners (I think it was the farc).
Not just a great story but a great story teller....
Guys got a teflon soul...
Thanks man!
He has a great story....
It should be on the show : " Locked up Aboard "
This the Mike Tyson of channels
Fuck the haters I love the way you sit back and let guests tell their stories, without constantly interrupting to get screen time
He is on Top of the game !!!
I have immense respect for Oscar, what an incredible person and his courage to share his story. I live abroad in Peru, but I traveled to the Galapagos Islands last year and had to go through Guayaquil, the most dangerous city in Ecuador. It’s no joke. I totally would recommend the Galapagos for any traveler. Truly an amazing experience. Thank you Ian for Oscar’s interview. I just discovered your channel. Where have I been all this time?
You have respect for a drug smuggler ? Drugs that then go on to kill people and you have respect for such people? 😮
@@angelaberni8873 Yes I have a lot of respect for him having the courage to tell his story while a lot of people would be too embarrassed or ashamed to. I also admire how this individual learned from his terrible mistakes and completely changed his life around. A lot of people would continue down the path of committing crimes or developing unhealthy coping mechanisms and becoming an addict or something even worse. It’s about learning and growing in life from the mistakes we make. When we don’t learn from them, that’s when there are problems.
Amazing story 💯‼️
Every comment on how they like how he doesn't interrupt the guest we all know who's the other channel that interrupts all the time 😅

All love 💕 for you Ian!

All blessings to you man life’s a beautiful thing
I love this one!!!!!!
ENTERTAINING VIDEO...GOOD JOB.
Jail in Ecuador sounds amazing.
Yeah you should go and spend seven years there. It sounds like a great place for a holiday.

This guy needs to make like a 10 episode series telling his story like Johnny Mitchell to start his show. I could listen to these stories for hours
Im the Same i grew up with a good family but still chose that path and it was definitely the music and movies that inspired me lol
My friend Jhony died in that prison the day before he got out. Bad alcohol at his despedida. Oscar Caranqui was thete too before he went to the Rock and got murdered.
We need part two on this one🔥
for what? he just told his whole story
@@ryanvee570 that’s not even a fraction of it my brother, believe me, I was there with him.
That's rite!! You tell em Lenny. Check out global lock down! The pod is coming soon!
In the 90’s Ecuador was dangerous but nothing like El Salvador or Guatemala. I spent a lot of time in all three from 96-2000. Ecuador is the most beautiful
I think I want to hang out in that first prison and not try to escape. It sounds pretty lively and wholesome.
Love the story behind your wife and it’s like a full circle ⭕️ 😂 life has a funny way of going round and round. I was a drug addict and dealer and now I’m a drug worker helping the homeless lot that I hung around.
Great channel
Heck when I went to jail l started hanging out with this big guy . Because I thought us two are the biggest guys in here . And then I heard his nickname was sticky buns .
Great episode! Will he come back with more jail and prison stories?
Thank you! Absolutely
Episode 2 coming soon. Stay tuned...
Dope Dope Interview.
Thank you!!!
I'd love to talk to this guy. My dad was a drug mule back in the day in Costa Rica. Oct 13, 1999, he called me and said, "if you hear I'm dead, don't believe it". Exactly one week later I got a call at 6am from one of his "friends" that he was dead. 3 hours later the cops came to my door to tell me he was dead. I've spoken to a guy who was part of yhe relocation program in Canada and he said, at the time, it was impossible for this information to travel so quickly between central America and Canada
What happened to him?
How are you just going to end the story there?
They had phones in Costa Rica in 1999 obviously, they would have had to pick up a phone, type numbers on it and talk. Unbelievably easy.
Honestly, I'm just relaying what a former "relocation" RCMP told me. It was an INTERPOL situation. Obviously, I know there were phones...I stated I got phone calls. I think it's more the investigation side of things
@calpape that's the end of the story on my side. Hence the trauma, heartache, and questions.
Great interview, I wish a lot of young people, specially those who might be hanging with the wrong crowd, could watch this interview and take this as an example to avoid getting in trouble before it’s too late.
Greetings from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 🏝️ I’m addicted to your interviews, bro. Good content.
Wow what a story....Oscar seems like a cool dude and wish him nothin but the best!👍🏼
Man, his story is very interesting. Great interview.
Thank you!
That's basically how you make white lighting
GREAT SHOW!!!!🎉😊
Thank you!!!
You impress me , calling Mom daily! Love it. Rough life.
Really great story!!! Felt like I was there
I loved this episode
Dam this story is a Movie 🍿
He should submit his story to the television series, Locked Up Abroad
You can’t be that naïve
I traveled down in South America in the early 90's and spent five months in Ecuador, as well as Columbia and Peru. It's a very interesting place to visit. There wasn't many gringos down there then as it was considered too dangerous. There's nothing cool with smuggling drugs. Don't do it especially in foreign countries. Oscar is lucky to be alive and to get out. I'm glad he learned by his mistakes, and got on with his life, I wish him all the best.
Columbia is a country? I know Colombia is a country, but not Columbia…..
I would think if you spent that much time somewhere you would learn the correct spelling : Colombia
@@jeffallan1003 Thanks for your comment. I have dyslexia. I wish you all the best.
Appreciation was the word he was going to say ❤❤❤
Would've been a Federal Conspiracy charge in the U .S
The worst day of his life?? Baffles me how people are surprised when they end up in jail.
Well, I doubt it was a good day, aware or not. Stupid thing to say.
Great story🏆
That was an absolutely incredible story! Please keep us updated on the start of his UA-cam channel so that we can subscribe. Thanks! 👍

Great interview, dude is genuine!
Amazing
Everyone ''gets in with the wrong crowd'', they are never ''the wrong crowd''.
Same thing I said ab my neighbors gangster son. She love to use that line 'got in with the wrong crown'. Eventually he was stabbed to death in the early 90's. I do not miss him
