Bronco fan here Zach.. sorry man your Vikings played much better than we did.. how we were even in it at the end was unreal. We'll take the win but I want to wish all the Viking fans good luck going forward. 👍
@@musicdawgthe Broncos have been bad long enough that we are surprised when they win! I still can’t believe they beat KC! As far as that goes I can’t believe they are at 50% wins, that’s the amazing part!
My father was a dairy and crop farmer in NJ. The area is not so much farming these days. He passed away in 2008... I would loved to have shown him what you do and others both crop farmers and dairy farmers. A folding corn header is a mechanical miracle!
One thing I like about this channel is that when he has a sponsor, he literally doesn't read a script like a robot. It is hard to believe someone actually uses a product when they stumble over their words while reading whatever the company sent to them.
It still amazes me that with all the high technology used in modern farming that you are still required to beat on the sides of the grain bin with your hand and climb up the sides to determine how full they are. One would think that surely someone has invented a remote bin measuring system by now.
There is. My father had some installed in all his bins 30 years ago. As it filled up it pushed on a Frisbee like pan with a long stick on it up thru a hole in the roof. It was painted 2 different colors half way thru to see when it was getting very close to the top and stop the auger. There is many different kinds.
Hey Zach, I was excited to see you teamed up with Derek from Vice Grip for Cleetus' 2.4 Hours of LeMullets race this past weekend. Hope you had a fun time!

Hi ! Love the videos, and just wanted to drop an idea that Zach could use during his videos. He should do "pov" style video angles sometimes. He would basically strap a GoPro to his head, and that would allow him to work with his 2 hands, and we would have some cool video angle footage to watch !!! It's only an idea, but could maybe be interesting to try out !! Have a nice day (or evening I don't know haha, I'm in France )
Gotta say how proud Zach must be to have his family pick up the slack on the combines when someone's missing !! I know I would certainly be a proud Daddy if it were me !! Just love Zach's forthrightness when he's under pressure - which, fortunately is not too often !! Thanks for showing us "city slickers" what long and late hours are really all about !! Blessings to the entire Johnson family !!
hey zack for us europeans it's quite common to see folding cutting bars (wheat and corn) since they are very practical for our roads and are perfectly suited to the size of the harvesters
@@austinpalmlund5054 it is less common to have a folding cutting bar for beans or wheat but knowing the system either it folds in two in the middle in the direction of length or width (it depends on the manufacturers and lengths) or otherwise in the same way as a folding corn cutter bar if you want to see what it looks like you can mark folding cereal cutter bar
My dad farmed corn and soy beans dairy cows and other crops in Iowa in 1920’s, 30’s, and 40’s before moving to Oregon in 1950 to marry my mother. I am hooked on this channel, I don’t know why, but I love it!
Hiya Zac, really enjoyed your last 3 videos, having your kids helping out is why farming is the best industry to work in . having worked on UK farms so envious of your workshop. Keep them coming
I can't get over the fact that a combine takes the corn in one end and cleans a whole cob of corn and puts out the back a whole cob thise machines are so cool so many moving parts and there working together so cool
Hey Zach keep up on bin safety. My friend just lost his leg when the unload augar in the bin started up and pulled him in. Thankfully the neighbors came together and helped out to finish the crop. Its amazing how farmers come together
It is amazing how those engineers have developed folding cornheaders, see and spray sprayers, 120 foot spray bars and very close to having nearly autonomous tractors. Thankful that we live in the USA, everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving.
iirc folding corn heads was Deutz Fahr/Capello's baby. Geringhoff made/makes a nice reel header that doubles over on itself and slides sideways. The neatest one I've seen was made for the old Claas Avero which breaks in the middle and folds FORWARD to point straight out in front of the combine. Not certain about the first two but I know the Claas one is cool but can you imagine having to steer a combine that was as long out the front as the wheelbase is back?
I see on 2 rows of your corn head you got the gathering chaining matched so the bracket on them are acrossed from one another. I've been doing that for many years. Helps clear the thrash in the head faster. Then last year, i accidently put a new gathering chain on back wards. One came off at the start, don't know where it went, i suppose through the machine. So durning the winter, i put all new ones on the head / back wards too. More agressive, & the design that way, could carry in, any shelled corn.
Zach, Im sure you already know this but incase you don't. Milwaukee makes a cordless right angle impact that would work great for them bolts on the disc.
Last night Brian farming video dude did a live feed on UA-cam and he just answered questions from the comments and it was a lot of fun and he only did it cuz he was bored too help pass the time away. It would be awesome if you did one one day. Thanks Zach
Hey Zach, I am glad you mentioned you like the engineering that went into the folding cornhead. It is really amazing what good engineering can do for farmers. Blessing to all of you folks.
That cob of corn was a nice size..., I reckon they should make those headers 'Retractable!!' 😉. Another great videoTeam, I love the size of the machinery you yanks have, and the silos, implement shed... the list goes go 😆, .Cheers from Aussie 🦘🦘👍.
For you garage doors, setup the MyQ app and hardware and control it all with your phone. A great addition to my shop. Also can confirm all the doors are closed at bedtime without leaving the house.
Those hilarious dogs when riding in the Polarus, behave like humans. They are very attentive while looking out the window in all directions, like they are keeping tabs on the operation !! LOL. TOO Funny 🤣😂 Maybe they are??
Love the view out the side watching the corn transfer to the cart. I once got to harvest wheat in a JD combine was amazing how the machine tilted with the weight in the auger/boom folding boom is cool I guess if they can do it with forage harvesters why not a picker style head
The folding corn head is the best invention in the last 100 years. maybe. It sure beats taking the head off, carting it with a truck and putting it back on. It’s like food shopping, put it in the cart, take it out of the cart, put it in a bag, put back in the cart, take it out of the cart, put it in the car. Take it out of the car, bring it in the house, take it out of the bag and put it in the cabinet. It just goes to show you, it’s always something, if it’s not one thing it’s another.
Most farms are family ran for most part look at Iver farms 10,000 acres or some of farms in Canada over 100,000 acres. But you can say farms are Production farms because they grow grain, fruits, vegs, milk or meat for the markets

Your humor is always appreciated. Hope your dad is doing well. Prayers.
I really miss my corn harvest years. Thanks for sharing yours.
You and the dogs going for a ride never gets old for me Zack. Thanks for sharing. Hope Jim can make it back before the end of harvest.
No, won't work.
Most of farming Equipment is awesome engineering. And for Cornheaders, Geringhoff has a 24 Row 75cm Spacing folding Header. Pretty amazing😮
Until something breaks...

Honestly not sure if there’s a combine on the market that could handle a 24 row header tbh. It’d be interesting to see
@@Beyonder8335there is a guy by me that has a 24 row 22 in head for corn
@Beyonder8335 when we plant on 20 inch spacing we use a 24 row Gehringhoff, our 9250s run it pretty well

Great way to start my lunch!
You could run a camera through the combine's separator sometime. It would be a different angle. The Welker's did it once.
Becky is a really good editor! Shout-out to Becky.
It is amazing with the amount of corn that is going through that machine how good it does with getting all the corn off the cob.
You need the new little high torque impact from dewalt total game changer when you are working on stuff like that.
Looking like a good MN harvest season, Zack. Thanks for letting have the view from your mobile office. I appreciate it.
Thanks Zack for the look into today's family farming.
Try new Ag-1 in suppository form, it gives new meaning to the words” up yours”
