Ending with the sweep was so good it had to be repeated twice!
I thought I rewinded the video on accident for a second there lol

I've seen a cool kick where you feint a roundhouse, they go to check it, then with the same leg you fold it in and then throw a sidekick to the body. Have you ever done something like that?

Yeah! We do that a lot in Savate!

I'm glad there are people out there like you who are still "wing chun" guys but are not the typical purists, who believe that WC is some ultimate style. You mix in stuff from differing styles, keep what works for you, but don't dismiss the things that don't.

Seth can put his karate/capoeira/TKD training to use with Kevin.
I learn plenty when watching Kevin’s wing chun

The most bad ass wing chun kick I seen the dude is trapping both your hands and forces both your hands to go to the outside gate, then when you are opened like a bird he grabs your wrist and front kicks you in the chin. Also while snap pulling you down into his kick. Can prolly snap someones neck if you do it but im not flexible enough to do the kick, but people that are can land their heel right on the enemies chin and SHOVE their head back. This deathmove prolly works better for shorter people with AMAZING flexibility but it is also sorta just showing off, you prolly coulda ended the fight with a headbutt.

I love hooking the leg with the instep. I usually do it by altering the tempo so instead of a fast hard kick it turns into more of a lift. I just pull it towards me like chambering a side kick. Even if you miss, "Hey, side kick!"

My dad always told me to never kick unless I could "steal balance" from the other person.
Then like you said, drive with the heel.

2:23 Instead of attacking them witha kick you could do a chi gurk knee invasion and bump them off their own footing. Then continue attack during their stumble. I like that cross-back check I never seen it before.

3:27 Someone tries to kick me in the thigh ill raise my knee so the top of the shinbone where its SUPER thick right below the knee smashes their ankle and you can tell they dont wanna kick anymore after that. Just a quick lift and flare and you can smash right onto sensitive parts. The bad thing about this technique though is if they feint you to make you raise your knee and then kick your back standing ankle.

LOl. @0:52 You thrust your butt up and raise your left heel to further push your front kick. Every muaythai move is to take advantage bio-mechanic to extend power to your delivery. OK! now I watch this clip more.

Lol again @2:07 This is what muaythai trainers use with new students, just for laugh. It's not practical in real fight.

Practice with a chunk of hardwood hanging from a rope, barefoot. And just tap it as it swings and learn to stop it and deflect it with the tough parts of your foot slowly so that you dont hurt yourself. Eventually you will learn how to completely soft stop it. Will give you nice accuracy plus hurt every time you mess up so you learn faster. Still scary cubpaw kicking a partner close to their face though, one messup and you can KO the shit outa them but looks good for action camera to get that SUPER CLOSE cubpaw accuracy and not hurt your partner.

I think sparring gives a bit of a fake understanding of what is catchable because no one is throwing with heat. You have to do occasional heavy sparring or even actually fight.

No I don’t think karate got it’s kicks from France. That sound’s highly unlikely.

Shin/calf kick, eye jab, throat strike. You might agree that 99% of the people training in martial arts will never become professional fighters. And if by chance some street thug high on meth who's determined to beat you down confronts you, the majority of people will get rubbery weak legs, shallow breathing and their mind will fog up and all the grabbing and twisting and throwing and submissions will not be found. Being skinny and almost always walking in Los Angeles, I am always confronted with a bad guy because I look like a victim regardless of my many years in martial art training. And I heavily rely on shin/calf kicks. Later we can talk about the floating punch to the nerve directly below the nose and above the upper lip just in case you want to throw that shin/calf kick second instead of first.

the size difference alone makes the contrast here, in style, in "tips and tricks" this is such a great video, i feel like theres plenty for everyone ur basically opposites and for this type of video it works so great.
