Screws lose is the least of issues a gun can have. Most people would take off screws and locktite when they took out of box. I watched 50 videos on this gun and this was first mention. Thanks for update.

Thanks for the video. You are the 2nd or 3rd UA-camr that has bring this shortcoming of the provided screws and cover plate. Has not being worse since most reviews either used the review sample that included a red dot, or install one right away.
Could be worse… the gun could discharge with your finger off the trigger like the p320. This gun will be the new king assuming all 100 people who did videos are not shills. P320 is a POS and unsafe. Even if safe, it is horrible. I proudly own glock, Cz, S&W, canik, sig etc. echelon will be next!
Mine did the same thing after about 200 rounds, I never tightened the screws or put Loctite on them. RMR is installed now and ive shot another 500 rnds (with Loctite) and its still just as solid as when i first put it on. For anyone who buys the gun and doesn't intend to install an optic put some Loctite on before range day.

I’ve been very interested in the Echelon, I’m considering buying one. I like it that you bought your own. Makes me feel I can trust the review more. Interestingly, I’ve only had one gun that the slide cover flew off of and that was the Springfield Hellcat. I lost a screw, so I contacted Springfield and they sent me two new screws. I blue loctited them and have not had any more problems.
In my opinion... I believe it was those atomic rounds your buddy loads for you that backed out those optic plate screws. I think it's important to double check the screws, pins, all moving parts on any gun before a range day. Never assume all is right in pew pew land. Great review and thanks for the unbiased opinion.
That's true but for something like this advertised as duty I wanted to just let it run out the box. But thank you I definitely appreciate it. I will definitely post updates with the optic on
That is exactly what I do with my remove the screws clean the holes and put lo Lock in the screws ,I Shoot three hundred and fifty rounds and everything was perfect. Fifteen pounds for the screws.... I completely sure those places come loose intentionally, Just thinking that people going put a red dot immediately.
I just put red dot on my recently purchased Echelon. Took off the plate, and no loctite on those little screws. I put on the Viridian RFX35 with the longer screws that came with the gun. Put some blue lactate on the screws and used torque screwdriver set to 14 lbs.
I put over 1k with my echelon with holosun 507 comp green dot it has ran flawlessly. I just put in a heavier spring guide and it helps with the recoil.
The optics cover plates on Springfields don’t come torqued down in my experience because they use to be in so tight you have to get a soldering iron and heat the screws to remove them, and most people want to put an optic on right out the box. A lot of customers would strip the screws attempting to remove the plates. I understand the disappointment tho if you just want to shoot it without inspecting or planing on add an optic. When I took my prodigy out the box the optic was mounted but not secure because the battery wasn’t installed. I didn’t know that at the time I just to the gun out locked the slide to the rear and the optic and plate fell off, but after further inspection I knew why. I shot the Echelon at the Springfield event and saw a few thousand rounds go the one with no stoppages or malfunctions.
Great review! I totally agree that a locktite oversight is NOT a reason to give this gun a thumbs down. I own one and after about a thousand rounds no issues!
This is actually a croatian made handgun. It's intended to replace HS2000 in Croatian army and police force. Not sure how much Springfield has to do with design. Hellion rifle is basically VHS 2 rifle with different pistol grip and handguard.
Great review. I’ve run about 500 rounds through mine and like it a lot. I have medium hands and am still getting used to the slide release. Going to try the smaller back-strap next. Sending my best from Salt Lake City.
X-ray alpha on UA-cam and Instagram believes in pulling straight through the trigger, rather than finding the wall. It's a valid technique, and with a good enough grip, trigger quality doesn't matter that much for handguns.
I prefer that they don't locktite the screws from the factory considering most people are going to put an optic on anyway. Should they let customers know, yes.
The pins are fit so tight they have literally no wiggle room whatsoever, they're pretty difficult just to line up and get in the holes, they won't be moving at all.
Thank you I definitely appreciate it. And I'm going to keep pushing back against them. We need the education and knowledge put out there and people to exercise their rights.
screws are not loctited on plate. Usually 90% of the people install optics. many also use crappy bits and will strip out the screws if loctite is used.
Slide release size doesn't matter one bit if you slingshot it... Doesn't matter if it doesn't even have one like a Beretta Pico or some others. Works 100% of the time.
