For the lid, I had the same issue. I pulled around the plastic ring to straighten it out and it fit on the cup.
Never had an issue with the lid. It might be too hot when putting it on due to steam.
Picked mine up yesterday used tonight for first time. This mug gets hot. I had to set it to 135F. Not too happy with amount of liquid I can put into it. Thank you Sir
Thank you so much for this video. I just got this mug and I feel like this video covered it and all my questions thoroughly. I have definitely subscribed and will be watching your other review videos!
No, thank you so much! Glad this video was helpful.
My husband found this on sale last night for $28 at our local Walmart's clearance section. He picked it up for me since I have a desk job and I have been wanting an Ember, let's hope this is a good dupe. My lid is fine, so as long as I adjust the rubber ring it will sit. I still don't feel its very secure and probably wouldn't use it anyway. I will say... the light is VERY dim but for $28, I'm sure I can look past it.
I just got one on clearance for $20 at wall mart my lid i had to adjust the ring but it works fine i think i will go back and get a few more for christmas presants
Thanks for the review! I bought one of these today.
You are welcome. Thanks for watching!
@shopping the internet
Is yours still working after 8 months? if so, how often do you use it?
Just picked this up, hopefully it works decent!
I love this mug..great value.
I got the Ion temperature control black cup for Christmas. The product stopped working after one use.
Cheap stuff 2 uses
Great review. Very detailed and informative. Thanks a lot.
Thank you.
Thank you for your review. I also have the pricey Ember mug and bought this as a second one from TjMaxx months ago. Even so.. I decided to go to “The” UA-cam to get a n honest review before opening. Good solid review 🙌🏽.
Nice review!
All you have to do is twist the lid a little bit while pressing down it stays on fine... it's because of the rubber seal. Also the metal rings on the bottom are not a burner like on a stove they are for connecting the mug to the charging coaster. My wife loves her's.
I did that to my lid.
Thanks for the video. I hope to pick one up this week. Question, soda pop?
Any time. Thank you.
So I swiped my eider children's mug. Important point, I'm a coffee fanatic but I forget my coffee when I get busy. I don't mind the geeky tech look or even the homey look of an electric kettle. This mug is phenomenal. My room doesn't allow for "office" attire. This mug is clumsy proof and I don't worry about burns or glass.
WHO WANTS WARM SODA POP 😂
Thank you 😊 for the overview. I just snatched it from the cabinet and now I know. 😅
You are welcome for the review, i am happy warm soda pop stood out. 😃
Hello, I bought this mug last night at Walmart, and my lid doesn't pop off like yours does. Your lid is defective and you should return it and get another one.
How do you know when it’s fully charged?
I didn't have a problem with the lid. Maybe it can't be full to the top
Thank you! Good video.
Now the only thing wrong with this mug the size and so you have to be near a refill station otherwise the mug is too small to hold a large amount to get the heating benefits unless it takes you a while to drink the 12oz. For me I’d have that down in no time and the contents would be hot enough.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the kind remarks!
I must disagree with your statement about the cup being too small, though.
12oz is the standard. I work at a restaurant and the serving size there is 12oz. It’s a pretty upscale restaurant, I would assume they follow high standards.
If you need more coffee, there are heated thermos options as well.
Happy Holidays,
John.
It does take me a long time to drink a cup of coffee because I get busy doing other things or I will get distracted or I'm in zombie mode until I finally wake up lol. I saw this mug at Walmart one night and even though I had to pay $39+ for it, I knew I needed this mug...I waste so much coffee because I can't drink it when it gets cool, and I have ruined many cups of coffee by reheating them too much lol. This cup, when it gets to the temperature I choose, stays hot a long time, and it doesn't taste burnt at all! It's pricey but worth every penny to me!!
Filled past the ability to put the lid on it is under 11 ounces. Overflowing it isn't close to 12. Need room for cream? Plan on 8-10 ounces. That being said mine works very well and I have zero lid issues.
I don’t know why everyone is complaining about the size. I use a single serve coffee machine to make coffee in the mornings and never have an issue.
hope uk u can't see anything right... no numbers glowing or anything and on the manual says not to warm up ur drink while it's on the coaster
Hello! I read the instructions it came with and read something about a green light. I have had mine plugged in and have seen no green light on mine. also my temp indicator keeps blinking. Any tips?
Long press to reset, press power button once to set temperature so it stops blinking, double check cup is placed upright.
When the temperature display is blinking it's heating the liquid inside the cup, when it stops blinking it has reached the set temperature... you probably won't see the green light unless charging while you're not using it. To put it in standby mode hold the power button for 3 seconds or until you see two lines in the temperature display and not a temperature and it will not heat and standby 📳 but will charge and then you will see the green light when it is at full charge.
The bottom of the mug is not the heating elements it should not get hot its not a hot plate. The metal rings are the contacts to charge the battery in cup and the heating element is going to be wrapped around the cup in the walls unable to be touched.
Thank you for clarifying this. I do rectify this at the end of the video. 👍
Thanks
I just bought one of the ion mug and I don't have a problem with my lid so maybe you got a bad one
The Mug:
Pros: has 3 heat settings 135,140,145.
Cons: 12Oz, the lid pops off easily.
Take these as you will got the mug today for Christmas and it works wonderful for keeping your beverage warm.
How are you suppose to charge it? the instructions say to "Never place the mug on the charger coaster without liquid in it."
You must make sure it's in standby mode when you put it on the coaster and there's no liquid in it that means the two little lines will be showing and not a temperature it should be better described but it is not
Lol...thank you so much! I had the same question and my husband and I have been reading the instructions to each other to see if we missed something! This completely answered my question!! 100 stars, (****) to you sir!!
Confusing. What is standby mode.
The lid for mine actually works well and seals, you need to return yours
Were you able to screw it on like I was trying in the video?
I didn't have to screw the lid on, I just pushed it down and it stayed on.
The rings on the bottom are for battery charging, not heat transfer..
The metal on the bottom isn’t like an induction stove, it’s like a long contact point. I really wish there was a left handed mug, and geez they should sell extra chargers because I’d like to take this from home to work and keep using it.
Good luck since it's a third part, aftermarket, electric mug. More of a novelty. If you want the extra charging coaster, definitely the ember mug.
I bought this for my elderly mother and forgot to tell her not to put it in the microwave. That ends exactly how you think it ends.
She has a new one now but I am still shopping for a new microwave. I loved that microwave!
Good advice always. Putting your coffee is second nature, just not with this mug.
Thinking about getting one but man ive never heard lithium ion battery so much in my life
I have had trouble charging it. The company sent me another..and it is bad too
I love it! but why does the temp keep blinking?
It blinks until it reaches the temperature you set it at. The actual liquid in your cup is evidently not completely as hot as the temperature you choose. For example, I like my coffee really hot, so I chose the 145° setting, so the cup will blink 145 until my coffee reaches 145°.
Great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I don’t see the temp when pressing the power button??
Are you holding the button in for 3 seconds?
Tfs 👍🏾
Absolutely my pleasure.
Is this BPA free . Plastic should not be heated up
Yes.
Does the ember coaster charge the ionmug?
How long does it take to fully charge?
One hour at the most.
I enjoy my coffee at 140°.
As for recharge time: No more than 15-20 minutes from room temp to 140°.
Love my cup, & have used it daily for the last 1.5 years!
Great video presentation a clone umber mug with design flaws in the cap otherwise not bad on a budget.
Right on the money, sir.
$40 bucks at walmart it doesnt get my coffee hot enough, I like my coffee starbuck piping hot, probably be taking this back.
You either have an issue with working with mug lids, or you got a defective unit. My lid fit perfectly.
If I have an issue working with mug lids I have greater issues than mug lids.
@@KillerReviews LMSBO!!!🤣🤣
I got mine for 10 dollars today at walmart
$10? Wow, I saw it today for 39.99
Where?!
@@AngelaAlbertina the walmart I work for in cali
@@bklynqn2 got lucky on a sale
Lucky! Got mine for $15 the other day in the clearance aisle
I closed the lid b4 putting it on the cup and it didn't pop off🤞
Thank you for this great advice!
Mine still did. Pop off. Not Sean. Then I turned sealer around. Still did. So I took it off completely- better. I need lid as I’m a small dog groomer - clipper vac however helps hair fly- but fluff dryer - hair fly
My lid works fine
I liked the little typing of how it can blow up. Mine didn't work because it's from China? Lol. A lemon in every batch. The next time someone gives me something from China I'm going to burn it so they can breathe it in. Call it renewable.
I now drink hot pepsi thanks to you
You are welcome. Enjoy!
The fact that it’s plastic kind of freaks me out considering the dangers of putting hot liquid in something plastic:
“When you drink hot tea or coffee, heat from the drink is transferred to the plastic cup, accelerating leaching out of additives from the plastic into the hot drinks or food. Some of these additives can be harmful and are responsible for many types of cancer, hormonal disruption in the human body.”
Guys. I think he might be worried about the bottom of the mug getting hot.
i was but it doesnt
If anyone has issues with not being able to fall asleep… Watch this video….nice guy though,
I tried, but just couldn’t make it … good to see there’s other people out there who are able to hold out that long.
As for how long it takes to heat your coffee: No longer than 15-20 minutes from room temp to 140° (My desired temp)
I have owned & used this mug Daily for 1.5 years & LOVE it!
BTW: My lid fits perfectly & has never failed.
This is not to heat the coffee. Just to keep it warm.
140 is NOT hot enough for coffee. Who’s idea was this
It can go up to 145, btw. Besides that I don't know how hot you're expecting a drink to be without scalding yourself. Heck, most water heaters are set to 140 by default. Seems plenty hot to me.
It goes up to 145 and I think it’s hot enough, anymore than that I think it would burn my mouth
I have the ember mug and keep it at 134. That is my fave temp. I think 140 would be too hot. However, maybe there is a difference brands.
If you want hot liquid, then yeah this mug won't keep it hot. However, "ideal" drinking temperature for coffee (if you want to get the most out of the flavors that are naturally part of the bean) is around 120-140 degrees, which, it will cover the higher range.
Too much repeating of information. How much liquid does it hold? Would have been informative to test the temp. The instructions say not to touch the bottom after heating but you say it’s ok? I’m going to try it out.
Thank you for the feedback. I would say it holds as much liquid as any average coffee cup. Enough for a k-cup set to medium full level. And yes, the button on the bottom is actually rubber! Like an oven mit.
It's a free video. The entitlement is mind-blowing
It holds 12Oz.
Oh my gosh what a long ass video you could have said all of this in less than 5 minutes. The one thing I've been waiting for is how to clean this thing it does not tell you just says do not submerged in water but can I run the water on the outside and inside
That’s a good point I am happy you bring that up. Thank you for the feedback.
Not dishwasher safe. Just a soapy sponge and water, or if you’re like me, don’t wash it at all.
@@KillerReviews so is that soapy water on the outside and the inside or just the inside
Was a bit on the long winded
watch the part you like then skip
something for everyone.
This was informative but way too long. Thanks for the info though.
if I would have included a time reference in the description would that have helped you in your case?
@@KillerReviews no, I did see how long it was. So I knew what I was getting in to. Just Repetitive.
This video wastes a lot of time pointing out the obvious
Blah blah repeating him self over and over.
This thing sucks.
Do you own one? Why does yours suck?
Way too much time to explain a simple product.
There’s something for everyone.
