1956 & 1962 Food Packet SA-5 & SA-8 Two Pilot Survival Rations MRE Review US Air Force Unboxing Test
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- An extra video this week - two highly under-documented generations of the Food Packet, Survival, Arctic.
The Food Packet SA & ST's replaced the Emergency Parachute Ration in 1948 - and the two Rations updated every 2 years and with a higher digit on their title. This is a rare look into something that really gives us a look not only on the importance of proper food storage, but also a great look into an advancing time in survival food technology.
Hope you enjoy the video!
Will be seeing any of you who come out to Doswell October 22nd & 23rd - www.mreinfo.com... ---- Hope to see a bunch of you folks there, and until then I will be working on new videos.

LET'S GET THIS OUT ONTO A TRAY, NICE™
NICE HISS™
I'LL BE COMING BACK AT YOU WITH SOMETHING NEW OR OLD, ALRIGHT COOL SEE YA™
my favorite sound in the world is the sped up can opener 😂😂
I have it set as my ring tone.
Steve is a master with the P38 can opener
its oddly satisfying
Very satisfying
Personally I like the fast stirring and spoon taps, but to each his own
That is the most despondent "let's get this out on a tray" I have ever heard
A dissatisfied "nice" also
Awesome! 50's era rations are like time capsules. The old logo's are so cool!
Very true! I wonder if current mre makers ever look at these old ones to see why they go bad, points of failure in preservation packaging etc. I always liked the old rigid style containers of this era more. I'd be awesome to keep your stuff in old mre tins! New mre's are more plastic wrapped/bagged and less durable but lighter I guess, and they do not oxidize, react or deteriorate.
Very cool info!
"It' not too bad.. it's actually pretty bad" Steve, you are the best! Never stop!
True story: I work in a restaurant. We were blanching fries and we cool them by placing them on metal trays. While doing this I said aloud to my coworkers "Lets get this out on a tray. Nice". They looked at me like I was an asshole.
Atma Hope If I worked there, we would've immediately become best friends
I agree
lol NICE 😂
Nice
Nice.
Just when I thought there was nothing to watch, up pops this. "Nice!"
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Dude, I got my 63 year old Mom into these videos. She's not the type at all either haha. She just finds it so interesting.
Awesome! I've always had a weird interest in long-life foods. I like to keep a bug-out bag with a few such things for an emergency. But, I also love the historical aspect of these, especially to know what the men fighting were presented with.
"This is spent"
"It's so rancid"
*continues to sniff*
*takes bites*
Can you narrate a series of audiobooks?? Your voice is so soothing
Nice!
amazing.
uhh ohh. Yeah, yeah. Nice!
You should do some videos about camping and stuff like that on this channel. I think a lot of people would like that.
narrate porn for the blind
I love these videos! My uncle found a un-opened MRE from the 1940s and everything inside was nothing but mush! :P
Well i would blame the cheese
+Milles Manners It's always the cheese.
My wife left me for this dude
I dont blame you
I left my girlfriend for him too
Good.
Fallout3ProHunter Hey would've done the same
my boyfriend finds steve hotter than he finds me so i feel ya
Ha! loving these comments!
Hey Steve! I just noticed you have a Patreon account but that's after watching your reviews for several months already. I think it would help if you started mentioning this in your videos so that people who want to support your content would realize they can quicker than I did and maybe do Patreon only polls on what to review next and so forth. Great stuff pal! :)
Real happy he didn't take your advice to become a UA-cam E-Beggar
Saddest "let's get this out onto a tray, nice" ever! I feel you steve.
"Let's get this out onto a tray--Nice."
That line is what I love. I dunno why but goddamn you way of saying "Nice" has slipped into my vocabulary. It's a solid chunk of what I love about these videos. Keep it up Steve!
i never clicked a thumbnail so fast in my life. i love your videos dude
"not too bad... actually its pretty bad"
nice!
One day you popped up on my recommendation list so I clicked and I instantly subbed something about old MRE'S interest's me.
Bro, you make awesome videos. You got a charm that makes it so addicting to watch. Keep it up!
"oh boy...more cheese bars. y'know..that's just great"
Love the way he talks to himself contradicting and agreeing at the same time.
I'm stoned as hell watchin Steve again but this time I brought munchies, last time I have to eat a chair but don't worry. It was from 1958 and is the oldest chair eaten to date. Noice
MrBigboy1057 did you get it out on a tray first though?
Love the adjectives you use to describe this stuff....LOL Good one Steve.
Eats a 150 year old bread... Does not eat a 60 year old cereal bar
Totally different foods and concepts behind them and how they were made and with what ingredients. Hard Tac isn't "normal" bread.
I'd like to get ahold of some Alaskan pilot bread.
Plus it wasn't tainted with old ass cheese.
He donates some of these items and some of them he somehow manages to sell , in america everything that comes from war is worth money , if it's from the civil war it's worth much more.Thid guy keeps everything.
nice!
Nothing beats signing on and seeing some new Steve videos.
From one Steven to another good job
Im a steven too haha
Cherry Fruit
Hey its a SpamCat picture
This is why none of the food in the Fallout universe would actually hold up
If 60 years won't hold up, then neither will 210 year old irradiated food
That's what he just said.
I like to think that all food in the Fallout Universe has so many preservatives that they're like Twinkies, and are still *mostly* edible. Though their shit condition and the fact that they irradiate you is an better indication of how edible they really are. Sidenote: you can actually find and eat MREs in the "Lonesome Road" DLC of Fallout: New Vegas, and they're only marginally better than other foods.
I thought Nuka Cola might. Just set it for a few hours in front of the ole Radiation King TV set.
Who knows? The Great War happens in 2077, so maybe food packaging quality will get to that point in 60 years.
Its fascinating that after seeing him pop open 100+ year old rusty cans and being blown away that they're still edible and then in another video seeing these beautiful shiny tins are just shot through
Man, I get a good chuckle whenever you go "Still looks edible", then take a bite, and then the horrifying reaction.
Oh wow, i just opened youtube and was going to see some old videos of yours, i'm so lucky you released this
+Steve1989 MREinfo back in the early 60's my uncle gave me the PK gum when I was a little kid. Uncle Dan smoked the ration cigarettes in the backyard leaning on his tractor. I remember trying some meat stuff in a little can. I had forgotten about it until now. thanks for the great reviews.
I seriously can't believe that you even try to eat half of the stuff you do, lol. Awesome reviews, always enjoy watching them.
"It's not in any sort of edible condition whatsoever."
"I think getting it out on a tray would still be
*Nice*
I could watch these videos all day man. Wish you could put out more content.
Hey Steve, I had a dream last night you put up a video and you had a sidekick. You guys reviewed a Red Cross emergency ration (not sure if that's actually a thing) from 1941 and it was awesome.
These help me fall asleep at night and keep my stomach empty, or full, depending on how old the things inside those things are! Nice.
Love all your videos, "Nice" is like your catch-phrase, I want it on a shirt.
I can't stop watching your channel, I love it!
"Hmm Nice! Alright"
-Steve 2016
Love this channel!
your videos are so satisfying man. your voice is really easy to listen to....NICE
Im lovin the increase in videos lately thanks!
I have no idea where you get these old rations at, but it's nice to see what soldier's like both my grandparents would have received back in the day.
it really shows troops back in the day what they would have eaten to not only keep there strength up, but there moral as well.
as always a good video Steve, keep up the good work man.
Steve, you have got to be into WW2 history. I love that era. Thanks for the videos brother 👍💪
It's an interesting part of history, and you're an interesting guy to do it. The channel you have is fantastic!
"ah geez" I think you mean "aw cheese"
STEVE! These were beautiful examples regardless of palatable succulents or not! Awesome video as always ^_^
Man I felt how bummed out you were about the first one. Makes for good content though so remember thats always a win!
I like that even though Steve has turned into a bigger channel he still replies to the people that support him unlike every other douchy UA-camr.
famous word of the day "nice"
When you say "nice." It's like warm heroin running through my blood filled veins
drug addict
Your daily steve fix lol
Drew Jackson im fucking dieing
I feel that
x1ic1x lol bro
Your videos and style are just NICE!
A new video so soon? What have we done to deserve this?!?
After being said, getting this on a tray will be..NICE ! It never Gets old !
One of my favorite reviewers, thanks man
Your ration reviews are the best. Putting out a tray for it creates a nice setting too!Cool you know the history of this stuff-- who else would know?
Steve, i love your videos. i look forward to watching them after i get off work at night, and always hope you have a new video when i get on. love you, man. keep on the good work. Nice.
You're one of my favorite channels on youtube. Love your content and reviews!
"It's not too bad but... it's actually pretty bad." lol
Love your videos man, keep it up
The slow-mo tea sloshing made me chuckle.
"A whole new realm of stench"
I’m amazed the amount of Items in one small box. I enjoyed this clip. Thank you.
I screamed a bit when steve took a bite of that chocolate.
14:58, 15:54, 17:06 you had me dying here with your reactions. You're an animal, dude. Keep up the good work. Cheese-i-fied!
He's so adorable. He really has no idea.
Wasn't expecting this ..nice... This is the only channel that I like the video before I watch it
Steve where did you go... :( hopefully you didn't run out of ideas for the channel or rations to show, open and/or eat. Just want you to know how many of us enjoy watching your content and to keep doing what you're doing with it.
this channel is in my top 5
your videos are so amazing. it even made me want to purchase an mre
I have absolutely no interest in the military or survival... but I always need to watch the videos as soon as they are uploaded. Must be the soothing voice.
Great review, thanks a lot for sharing with us the ratios regardless of how it looks and smell, it's really interesting to see the content of these historical items. Finding that second one with its key was pretty amazing!
Seeing them being opened after all these years gives me a thrill and sadness knowing they have been opened.......But, you have to do what you have to do! I just hope that a kings ransom was not spent getting them to you and us. Hand Salute!
Love these vids! Keep up the good work sir!
There's something oddly therapeutic about watching him open old cans.
Thanks for the great job, your videos are very pleasant to watch!
"Let's get this out on a tray...." "Nice"
The best reason to watch your vids
That was such an unenthused "Let's get this out on a tray". Poor Steve.
Fruit cake doesn't last forever confirmed ;)
I hope he has a few spare French rations to run back to.
Gungeek they should have put a twinky in there instead ;)
The Watcher yeah that shit will last till the end of time
@@Perktube1 or even better: Croatian
Awesome video as usual Steve! Keep up the great work.
It's like eating the leavings on the bottom of the dumpster in the back of a fish market. I like when you said 'it's not really that bad' and then immediately 'actually it pretty bad.' LOL Keep em coming you chow hound.
Great video Steve, i just love the can rations, nothing quite the same.
"Nice" what a rush after that lol. Awesome videos.
I find Steve's videos extremely relaxing, and it kinda freaks me out that I can't pinpoint why that is.
It's something with hes voice and how he talks I think :)
I want to buy you pepe
ASMR look it up
Nice, another vid. It must feel awesome to open a ration with a key!
Too bad the food were bad but the tea and coffee still lasted good.
Loving the new intros and effects tho. Can't wait for more videos from ya Steve. Keep it up
Very likable guy.
Steve ur the best UA-cam channel out there keep up the vids man there very entertaining
Let's Get This Out Onto A Tray...Nice, Always Makes My Day
"Ugh.. I mean, I've had chocolate that looked worse than that,"
So many great Steve lines in this one, hahah. Bless him.

Another great video from the master!

New episode from Steve1989. Nice.
I love your videos, you do a remarkable job!!! I love eating MREs, I don't know what it is there's just something about them! Thanks Steve keep it up buddy!!!
Lol @ wafting upward. This is literally the first time I've heard that word not in direct reference to flatulence. It added real world life to the apparent odor of that cheese bar!
my favorite part of your videos "lets get this laid out.....nice!" always love that lol
Would you consider making a Q & A vid, Steve?
I'm always amazed that some cow on a farm produced milk in ~1955 and today in 2016 and later we are seeing what came of that.
the first one was hilarious, YOU ARE THE MAN
his videos makes me calm and relaxed is this normal?
Each time I am on Discord in my friends and I's group chat. I always play with jukebot saying Let's get this out onto a tray, nice. Also, I would have to say that not only did Band of Brothers get the action right, they also did a pretty damn good job on the K Ration.
