Slapshock emerged in in '97 but with a different vocalist. In '98 the old vocalist left and Vladimir(mostly known by fans as Jamir) was invited by his cousin Jerry who was already in the band. Music direction changed as Jamir was a rapper and a huge fan on Korn, Limp Bizkit, and other nu-metal bands bringing the Linkin Park flavor (intricate schemes and heavy screams) to their music. They recorded a demo tape in the same year of Jamir's introduction to the band, there were 3 songs and Agent Orange was one of them. They submitted the demo tape in NU107 to have radio airplay because nu-metal was booming in the Philippines with the bands like Cheese and Greyhounds. NU107 played the song Evil Clown and was in immediate hit for the listeners. They got signed to EMI and recorded their debut album 4th Degree Burn and was released in '99 which includes the 3 songs from the demo, Agent Orange and Sick Curtain becoming their singles. Becoming a powerhouse in the Philippine metal scene with the 2 previously mentioned bands. Track 6 - Sgt. Trigger, includes a guest vocals of Reg Rubio, frontman of Greyhoundz Track 12 - Lo Mejor, includes Ian Tayao, frontman of Cheese(now known as Queso) I would recommend you to listen to the songs Evil Clown, Sick Curtain, Sgt. Trigger and High Times, in any order. RIP, Uncle Vlad. Still have the shirts he gave me since my first show in '04, I was 3 back then.
