My childhood. This was 1 of 2 barbies I had. Loved her lots. Had the red head one. Maybe that is why till today love to have red hair.

First thing I did as a kid was cut all the hair off and then I was disappointed that it only stuck to the back of her head.
Love this one! I always prefer red headed dolls. Also just noticed that Amanda Bynes is one of the little girls in that commercial.
In many cases I prefer the redheads too. They are like the middle ground but also have so much life to them. Oh my Amanda Bynes... Childhood trauma 😂 I never noticed that 🥴

They do! I love how they had multiple dolls for each line in the 90s. You could have practically the same doll but with a choice of hair and eye colour. So cool.

The 3 hair colors together look a lot better than I expected honestly. She is a pretty doll but that hair thing still confuses me. So, if you cut all her rooted hair off and attach an extension, are you just left with a mullet? Lol. Rather weird Mattel, though, I’m sure it was cool at the time to do what we were never encouraged to do before; cut our dolls hair haha. 😅
Oh! I am so sorry Raymo! I rush to get this uploaded this morning and forgot to add in the intro :'( But you are still in there :D Exactly! You are left with a mullet. It is a stupid idea and doesn't work. Cut N Style Barbie from 2002 makes more sense as the extension comes out of the top of the head.
Hello Dean, I watched few of your clips. I am Barbie collector ( on-off) since 1980's . The colorful rubber bands are dissolved due to age. If you want replacement bands, Go to Beauty store which they sell salon supplies with wigs. They have colorful rubber bands. I saw same doll with choker at thrift shop but her head was bald as someone cut rest of hair. I think that I would buy her and reroot her with new strands of hairs. :)
Wow, you have been at it for a while then. Thanks for the tip with the bands. I need a lot of elastic bands for my dolls. I love seeing re-roots. I would love to see these girls re-rooted.
I've got a blonde one and I've had her since the actual 1995! She's in great condition, not a single hair fell off her head, I was a careful teen boy, thus she is well preserved))) Love your red hair doll ❤
Oh my gosh! So cool! You must have been really careful :D I do like this doll but not as much as I thought I would. I definitely like Totally Hair Barbie better. But I think the blonde from this line is very pretty. I just didn't want another blonde though :P

Yeah, totally understand it. Am kinda looking at the others in this line, I'd like a red hair one or brunette. The AA doll is rather expensive over here, or if ordering her off an American seller... The same with Totally Hair AA doll, my "Barbie dealer" had her for sale a while ago and she went for 15.000 rubles! Prices go up! Especially for the ones made in Malaysia 🇲🇾
Oh, everything is expensive from America these days. I am only buying local now. Do you prefer the Malaysia dolls? They are the earlier ones with the wide set eyes and the China ones have more of a doe eyed look? Or do I have that completely wrong? I don't know much about the Totally hair dolls :P

I bought her used on mercari she has cut hair it look almost like a bobcut she is a unique red hair barbie from 1994 I have to say ❤❤

I never got the point of this doll, did she get a permanent mullet if you cut her entire hair off and added extensions in the back? She was pretty though.
That is exactly right. They clearly didn't think it through. You cut the hair once, then you have to use extensions but then it always looks like a mullet (from what I have seen and heard, I am not cutting this gals hair :P ). 2002 Cut N Style was more thought through but still not great.
yeah there's really not a perfect way to make you able to cut barbie's hair over and over and over and overr..... without it looking silly.
Indeed! I have had so many dolls like this and they were all awful. But as dolls on their own they are cute.

I believe all of them are the soft fluffy fibre known as kanekalon.

Interesting doll, Deany!!! Love how Mattel blatantly ripped off a Madonna song for the TV ad!!! :P Did you use the 12" version of Madonna's song for that music interlude when you were deboxing? Loved the styling booklet she comes with... the graphics are SO 80's!!! (even though this was from the early 90's, but as we said, Barbie World was still stuck in the 80's well into the following decade!) You have to get the AA version now! :P
I know right! And I love how I have gotten in trouble for using the song here :P Yes, it is Madonna's remix. She did an album called You Can Dance which was a whole bunch of remixes. Apparently she didn't like how DJs were remixing her songs. I am over this doll TBH. I am thinking of selling her off now.
OMG DEANY BIKINI!!! I actually had that 'You Can Dance' CD back in 1987 or '88!!! It was sooo cool and I think I used it as a soundtrack for one of my debauched birthday parties back then! LOL ...I want her if you don't want her as I want to cut some doll hair! LOL :P

So I can relive my childhood (when I used to cut most of my doll's hair!!! LOL I remember my AA Twirly Curls Barbie's hair went from mid thigh to waist length to mid-back/breast length (which I liked best) to shoulder length to a short, sassy asymmetrical bob that also looked really cool on her! I think I should have been a hairdresser as it was so satisfying cutting their hair! :P
You should have been, you still should be! Then I could get my hair done for free :D I never ever cut my dolls hair as a kid. I wouldn't have dared to :P
I have all the Cut and Style Barbies. I was lucky enough to have them all couple years ago. Now they are so hard to get now since 90's and early 2000's are coming back.
Oh yes! 2000 was almost 20 years ago. It is crazy to think about. It feels like only yesterday to me, but 20 years is enough to make something vintage I guess :P
I feel the same way. I was just a kid in the late 90's and early 2000's. Yes, it does feel like 2000 was only yesterday and fast forward it today I'm an adult. The stuff that I grew up with are becoming vintage. Time flies.

I'm glad that she's having a full head of thick hair with all the extensions ... If you stick the hair pieces in her undercut part... Instead of cutting all her hair 😊😊

@@DeanReen or, you can reroot them using a rerooting tool to attach permanently. I like the end result when she has a thick head of hair at the end of the video
