This was my favourite barbie growing up. I’ve managed to buy two online for my daughters. The dolls have very different hair I didn’t realised how much they could differ very interesting! I’m in the uk 🇬🇧
Oh! So sweet! It's a very sweet and wholesome set. Do you mean the dolls you bought had different hair? My favourite is the softer hair personally but it takes more effort to maintain. Hello from Australia! 🇦🇺🦘
I always look forward to seeing your favorite finds. I have two out of your collection the Barbie: Fashion Ave doll and Barbie and Kelly (Western version).
When I was a child, I did not have a Barbie doll because my parents did not know where it could be found in its original form, but I did have a doll named Cindy 😝 but I am grateful that I at least had Cindy. Then when I grew up, I compensated myself by buying several elegant Barbie dolls.
Interesting dolls, Deany! I like the one with the Mackie sculpt (though funnily enough, was never really a fan of it!) And that outfit she's wearing is very Marcia Brady!!! ... and of course, I also love the AA version. 😜 I always thought that the Fashion Avenue outfits from that period had a bit of a vintage 60's bent to them ... but with 90's 'Girl-Group' tackiness thrown in! LOL (Have you heard of the early 90's Aussie pop group 'Girlfriend?' They dressed a lot like that Fashion Avenue Barbie's outfit.) Interesting mechanism to make Kelly/Shelly wave... it's cool that Mattel was still using mechanical gimmicks through the 90's.
Thanks Spagbol! 💖😊 She is my ONLY Mackie! I think she is very pretty, but as I said on your birthday, it seems to balance on the neck. Fash Ave definitely had a MOD kick! I have heard of the group but don't think I have heard any of their stuff. My sister always talks about "girlfriend hats" 🤷🏼♂️ I am assuming that is related.
i NEVER thought to color the instructions...and yet, i always talk about colouring b&w comic strips (like novel styled Heathcliff and Garfield books, and "Essentials" reprints of old comic books)
Great dolls. It's strange how Chelsea had two different names in the 90s. I always knew her as shelly. I like barbie as a brunette makes her look different
Thank you ❤️😊 Strange right!? Well I always knew her as Kelley but there seems to be both dolls from local sellers so who knows 🤷🏼♂️😂 I love my brunettes 😊💖
Hi Deen I love your dolls
Dean
Thank you! I am so happy to have all the different versions in my collection now 😊❤️

Thank you! 😊💖 I think the Fashion Avenue doll is actually my favourite!

So Barbie wasn't available where you lived? My favourite thing to do as a collector is fulfil childhood dreams 😊💖
