I'm a minimalist in training. We're remodeling our kitchen this year and this combination of all white cabinetry, wood tones and greenery makes my heart sing.

As a scandinavian (= natural minimalists) I have to say this kitchen has nothing to do with minimalism, which is about clean, straight and graphic lines (for example no open shelves, push to open doors without doorknobs etc), minimal color palet and no more than one or two functional items (green herbs or plant etc) placed on countertops. This is just normal kitchen decoration with quite romantic style. Pretty outcome for those who like kind of modern romantic style.
@@mivi4504 I tend to agree with you. I think that the open shelves create a lot of visual clutter, even if they are well styled.

Beautiful result here with a sense of spaciousness that is rarely found in a kitchen. Lots of light here, and the white keeps the space open and not heavy.

i can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video. I’m getting my kitchen ripped out tomorrow and I’m so excited for the reno be done. I’m getting stainless steel worktops! I love your design, but I don't want a lot of open shelves. The items will get dusty and I will have to wash them before I use them. Beautiful job.
I have open shelves in my kitchen and my kitchenware never get dusty because i use them everyday/regurlarly . Sure some decorative objects get dusty but so does the rest of your decor ..
Yes, that maybe true but I just prefer close shelving for my kitchen. I also know this because I keep my fireplace shelf clean from dust.

It's just for the picture. Clearly this setup is minimal and useless. First thing she does is putting a lot of jars on top of a book making it inaccessible. It's time for us to stop worrying about the cool picture and get stuff done for the every day folks.

what are your thoughts on walnut kitchens? I have a brand new house but didn't get to choose kitchen and it's walnut which I find very dark. I'd love to get it spray painted but my husband isn't too keen
We like dark walnut! It gives your kitchen a cool modern vibe.
+Studio McGee Hi Shea thanks so much for your reply. Could you do a video or blog post about styling for a kitchen with a dark wood like walnut please? I'm finding it hard to get inspiration as the painted kitchens seem to be so popular and they look so lovely and bright and light!
You are especially fortunate to have a spouse who prevents you from painting over walnut, which is one of the richest hardwoods in the entire world. Most people would love to trade kitchens. The answer is that you need to balance the dark wood with lots of light, and if there are not sufficient outside sources of light then consider installing interior lighting to brighten up the effect, and of course choose a light pastel or neutral color for the walls. Change the ceiling overhead lighting to something quite modern and which allows the light to pass through the sides of the fixture as well as to cast downward light. Also, eliminate any clutter on the counter tops and add some fresh flowers to create a clean space.
If nothing helps you, and you must eliminate the cabinets then arrange to trade them for their full value with someone else, or just list them and sell them.
How do you know what book you want if the titles are all facing away from you??

I just want to know how to get every decoration and design at home become functional at the same time and that kind of style will required a lots of patience to put stuff back into the correct shelves 😂this is great for me I love the style but my husband just gonna end up with keys and shit on the shelves

It looked a tad sparse to me and perhaps something big with visual weight (but no clutter) might have grounded it for me a little more. As usual, you always do fantastic styling.

One thing I know about myself is that I'm not a minimalist! I would really have to be careful not to put too much on my shelves.
Its beautiful but the open kitchen shelves attract to much dusk
nice to look at but my country unable to have this due to have insects, ants and lizards.... so all must store into glass cabinet instead. 😊

Minimalist is perfect if you want to sell your property or make a video. A real working lived in kitchen is a bit more difficult to keep pristine and minimal imo.
I hate placing books backwards... it’s like you’re ashamed of your reading choices... or worse, you don’t read at all and think books are merely decorative.
With all do respect and everyone is allowed to his/ hers opinion., but to me this isn't minimalistich at all, looks very busy on the shelfs 🙃
