As a South African i can say that was disgraceful, Richie is a legend, in the same vein that Fitzpatrick used to get under your skin, but both have high IQ and do things on the margin Greylings action was just stupid
Tbf, rugby players the world over were waiting over 15 years for the referees to "deal with" Richie McCaw. It wasn't that he was offside most of his playing career, or off his feet, or that he seemed to have 3 or 4 hands in the ruck, no. It was the fact that he would do it right in front of the referee and still nothing was done. An amazingly talented rugby player with the ability to "endlessly infringe" throughout his career without being punished. Sort of the Donald Trump of rugby. The fact that Greyling decided to take the law into his own hands, well, I sort of see where he is coming from. If the referee won't enforce the laws of the game, I guess Greyling decided he would. Whilst I don't condone his behaviour, do I understand it? For sure. The question we should be asking is how McCaw got away with all the stuff he did during his career. Now that would be an interesting watch.
LOL, I love reading all those comments about Richie being a cheat and not get penalized enough. You people couldn't be more wrong. Richie plays to the limits of legality, and it's not his job to interpret the breakdown and penalize players who are infringing the ruck, it's the REF's job. Are you guys expecting Richie McCaw to penalize himself?
I'm a springboks fan and I can agree ... mostly. He is so skilled at what he does he often doesn't have to go outside of the rules to get the job done. And when he does, that is just him doing what all good flankers should do ... test the boundaries. If the ref doesn't pick it up, that's fantastic for him because he knows how far he can push it.
Epic victory for Junior Boks by Brenden Nel 15 June 2014, 11:50 South Africa’s under-20 team overcame a shocking TMO decision and a rampant New Zealand team to stage a magnificent comeback and surge their way into the IRB Junior World Championship final with a 32-25 win over the New Zealand under-20 side in Albany on Sunday. The Junior Boks produced a monster rolling maul just two minutes from the end to get ahead as hooker Corniel Els ended up crossing the line in a mountain of bodies to ensure his team won a tense and sometimes strange semifinal against the odds. This was the second time the Junior Boks defeated their New Zealand counterparts in the space of nine days, something that is an achievement in itself, but the manner in which they overcame the odds was spectacular in itself and says a lot about the team’s character under fire. The win stretched the winning streak over New Zealand at junior level to four games in the last three IRB Junior World Championship tournaments and means they will face an epic final against possibly the form team of the tournament - defending champions England, who swept past Ireland to book their place in the final. But the Junior Boks needed to overcome an amazingly poor television match official decision that swung the course of the game, and contributed 10 points to the scoreline as powerful midfielder Andre Esterhuyzen was sinbinned for what looked to be a legitimate tackle. What made the whole situation even more farcical was the fact that Argentinean referee Federico Anselmi indicated he was happy to play on, but the TMO Ben Skeen - a New Zealander - intervened and recommended a yellow card. How a hometown TMO could have been appointed for a match like this is another question, but it left a sour taste as the Junior All Blacks swept into a lead by taking full advantage of their man advantage. Like the pool game nine days earlier, it was the Junior All Blacks who made the perfect start, scoring first through hooker Hame Faiva, after a turnover ball was superbly sent wide and the hooker made a bullocking run down the touchline. There may have been elements of a forward pass in the try, but it was given. The Junior Boks hit back against the run of play, as captain Handre Pollard intercepted a ball as the New Zealanders attacked and ran 60 metres to score. Pollard’s influence in this team remains immense, and it won’t be a surprise if his exploits here and his play in Super Rugby see him called up to the Springboks before the start of this year’s Castle Rugby Championship. Still, the yellow card, which came when Esterhuyzen wrapped his arms around All Black flyhalf Richard Mo’unga and slung him to the ground, hit the Junior Boks hard. Not only did the impressive fullback Damian McKenzie add a penalty, but the free-ranging style of attack suddenly found openings, enough to carve a hole for winger Tevita Li to score unopposed. Although Pollard grabbed a penalty back before the end of the first half, it looked at that stage if the Junior Boks were hanging on by their fingernails, and the momentum was with the home side. They extended the halftime lead of 15-10 to 18-10 shortly after the break when McKenzie added another penalty, but a stroke of luck - one of the few to go the Junior Boks’ way - seemed to swing the momentum back towards the visitors. An up and under was not taken by New Zealand and when it was slapped back towards their own line, it landed perfectly in the hands of winger Sergeal Peterson, who sprinted away untouched to make it a one-point game. Pollard added a penalty in the 57th minute to take the lead for the Junior Boks - a 45 metre bomb that was smack on target. But then a defensive lineout in the South African 22 was fluffed, and missed the jumper completely, with the New Zealanders pouncing and sending it wide to beat a scrambling defence as Vincent Tavae-Aso went in at the corner. At 25-20 with 13 minutes left, it would take something massive from the South Africans to win the game. And that came in the form of Esterhuyzen, who took the ball in the New Zealand 22, broke two tackles and put in a power surge to the line to even matters up. From there the Junior Boks simply smothered the opposition at will as the clock ticked down. And when they got their chance in the 22, they formed the perfect rolling maul, with backline players joining to get them close to the line. It was a juggernaut that was impossible to stop, and one which would settle the contest once and for all, crowning a memorable victory for South African rugby. A night where not even a TMO could stop the Junior Boks from their task. Whatever happens in the final, the future of South African rugby looks safe in their hands.
Of course Ritchie gets away with it when you have refs ignoring him but when the other team does the same thing they get penalized wonder why?can sum it up for you in 8words for you. Romain poite,Eden Park,Auckland,2013,Bismarck,Carter. If Mccaw does not watch out he will be next on bismarcks radar.
A lot of people complain about how Richie McCaw gets away with illegal plays… If other players see how Richie plays the edges of the law and not get penalised, why then do you not do the same, instead of complaining “???doh!!
You can say the same thing about Pocock but when they get away with it, that just means they're good players. Pocock got away with a shitload of stuff during the RWC because he knew how to play it to his advantage. He's a good player, just like McCaw. It's when you continually keep getting penalised that you know you're a shit player.
reading the comments ... everyone hating the boks . One bok gets irritated by McCaw enough to do something stupid and now everyone is like "Typical Boks cheap , dirty and shit" . Its easy to hate the opposition but it takes a better man to respect them. Top two sides in the world by a mile, highly competitive , small margins, high stakes - best rugby to watch !
I don't hate the Boks I love games against them. OK once or twice there is an occassion where the aggression exceeds the boundaries, but hey that's the edge that gives us epics like the 2013 game at Ellis Park in what I consider the most complete game of rugby I have ever seen. I can forgive the odd blow out caused by a rush of blood to the head, it's the sly calculated cheap shot (Quade Cooper style) that needs to be eradicated from the game. Even a good old whinge about some dodgy refereeing decisions is OK. But when you get morons coming on here with conspiracy theories about alleged bribes it has gone too far.
Jannie I’m so glad for your comment. My Granddad always said Rugby Union was built on humility, mateship and sportsmanship. Whatever happens on the paddock should stay on the paddock, good or bad, always lessens to be learned and friendships strengthened once the final whistle goes.
First number 8 goes charging in head 1st and didn't miss Richie's head, then while sitting there number 17 comes over the top and elbows him on the ground to the jaw, also didn't miss. South Africa can consider themselves lucky it wasn't two reds. Dumb because his side got penalised as well. Take pride in not conceding a penalty, but earning a penalty for your side. Help towards winning the game. Think we won that game.
Well when you let someone continually get away with slowing the play down illegally for his whole career, players will get frustrated. But deserved a red.
Everyone is complaining about how Richie cheats and he's not that good. He molds the game to how he plays. He can't penalize himself. If he can get away with cheating good on him. Coming from a kiwi he is the best all black and BEST CHEATER of all time.
Weiner Boop Richie always tests the ref early in each match to see what he can get away with and noted "only an idiot would not adapt to their rulings".
Weiner Boop i wouldnt call it cheating bro, hes a hair away from being cheating, thats what makes him the best number 7 to play the game, george smith from wallabies was the same just wasnt as slick and good as mccaw is
Are you by any chance from New Zealand? The real problem here was the referee, his lack of applying the rules of rugby allowed Richie to continuously be offside and play the ball on the ground. Punching people in the face is a result of this, this will always happen to any team that gets cheated. I am not advocating punching people in the face, the ref however should face severe consequences for such play. This ref was "inconsistant" throughtout the match in applying the rules. That means cheating, unacceptable in a professional sport.
you acting like richies the only one that gets away with stuff, how about bakkies botha and his cheap shots on everyone? richie may cheat the system but he never ever intentionally cheap shots anyone, on the other hand you have bakkies and burger and spiers doing all the cheap shit, so fair is fair, go and cry about it somewhere else
Here’s what I don’t get: all these people including the commentators saying McCaw was undoubtedly being a nuisance, almost implying he deserved this... McCaw had already been cleared out by SA #8 - dangerously so, by the way, should’ve been a yellow for 8, see replay at 1:53). By the time Grayling came in, McCaw was out of the contest area, sitting on his arse, unable to interfere with the ruck even if he’d tried to. It had nothing to do with punishing an opponent behaving cynically, it is simply assault. #8 should have seen yellow and a red for Grayling. To the dickheads who’d remind me this isn’t tiddlywinks etc, you underestimate just how fucking teak-tough McCaw is - could’ve been knocked out by either of those hits, doesn’t even seem to get a scratch. The bloke is made of fucking iron. (For avoidance of doubt, I am not a kiwi, or even an AB fan)
Yeah that first clear out would have been a red no question, Scott Barrett got done for something half as bad against Aus last year. Here there’re two obvious head hits and one gets a yellow card.
What strikes me about these types of situations is how the "assistant referees" ignore the infringements that lead to the frustration boiling over. Talk about selective decision making......
"Its for the ref to deal with" unfortunately McCaw got away with that kind of thing his entire career. Any player can be great if they receive special treatment their whole career; e.g: Carter & McCaw.
So all the great players of all teams received special treatment & that's what made them all great, really high IQ comment from you & 8 other imbeciles who liked it.
Mc Caw is a great player, but how's satisfying to see him being hit. In the end end of the day, he handle the punch and obtain a yellow against Greyling. Love and hate at it's finest.
McCaw looked like he got hit in the head first before Greyling...then as he was sitting on the ground a bit stunned, Greyling came along and gave him a forearm to the face. At about 1:53, he gets a shoulder to the head which makes him fall to a sitting position and then Greyling did his thing
He IS the greatest of all time! The reason he never reacts is because he knows that he has absolutely no right to be where he is 99% of the time! What a legend!
Is that how New Zealanders rate sporting greatness ? By how their protected species players handle on-field discrepancies and the shit they get for the foul play they constantly engage in and never get penalised for ? Figures. No wonder Richard Lowe was so popular over there. Lowe by name and low by nature...... and Kiwis have the hide to still constantly bitch about an underarm ball bowled in 1981 by Trevor Chappell at the order of his brother Greg to stop a bunny of a number 11 batsman from jagging a 6 and $35,000 prizemoney on the last ball of a one-day cricket game ? Richie McCaw deserved to be knocked out for that rubbish if the referees wouldn't take action and penalise him. After all, that's the exact reason they exist or we wouldn't need them, right ? Australian NRL has been infected by the same type of protected species/manufactured sporting fairy tale crap in Melbourne Storm and Cameron Smith. Most people who are true Rugby League fans just want him gone from the game ASAP, that said McCaw wouldn't have lasted 15 minutes in a Rugby League match.
McCaw deserved every wallop he got. All professional rugby players play on the margins but somehow McCaw defied the odds and got the benefit of the doubt from the ref in 90% of every 50/50 decision he was involved in. Odds like that would make you a millionaire in Vegas.
Back when rugby was hard as nails. Still a rough game, but the early - mid 2000's were another level of aggression, Da'lagglio , Paul O'Connell, Botha, Chabal, Nonu. Johnson. Absolute unmerciful beasts of men,

stateaveFTW312 Look at Bothas cheap shot on Marshall (the head butt). Two seconds before, Marshall was pulling his jersey back, but the ref NEVER sees the AB infringement... apparently there are simply a separate set of laws for the ABs.
Masterdebator Major BS call there. Firstly the Botha headbutt incident was about 3 years after Justin Marshall quit playing, it was Jimmy Cowan he headbutted. Clearly your memory is as clouded as your objectivity when you cannot even identify the players concerned. Secondly Cowan's jersey tug was wrong, and was picked up by the TMO and might well have resulted in a Boks penalty and perhaps more but Botha blew that chance with his reaction and as will always happen the serious foul play will turn around the penalty.
131 test wins for the greatest ever. Now go away look up your favourite player of all time and discover that beside 6 or 7 players none have even played that many international matches.

Hundreds tried just shows how tough he was.
Teams put players to counter him which distracted their own performance.
Ruck Shenanigans incidentally are great singer/songwriter live if you get the chance.
"That's for the referee to deal with"
Did they ever once in his role career though?
"Richie plays to the limits of legality"... lol. what he was doing was illegal.
I didn't ask a question?
Epic victory for Junior Boks
by Brenden Nel 15 June 2014, 11:50
South Africa’s under-20 team overcame a shocking TMO decision and a rampant New Zealand team to stage a magnificent comeback and surge their way into the IRB Junior World Championship final with a 32-25 win over the New Zealand under-20 side in Albany on Sunday.
A lot of people complain about how Richie McCaw gets away with illegal plays…
If other players see how Richie plays the edges of the law and not get penalised, why then do you not do the same, instead of complaining “???doh!!
McCaw "Ahw fuck he saw me, DUCK!!"
Hey Jannie, It's now Dec 2014. Still think you're the top two sides by a mile?
just look at the rankings! But I agree, not a good November for the boks ...
I hate the Boks for not breaking Richie
Jannie I’m so glad for your comment. My Granddad always said Rugby Union was built on humility, mateship and sportsmanship. Whatever happens on the paddock should stay on the paddock, good or bad, always lessens to be learned and friendships strengthened once the final whistle goes.
He was just trying to get him onside
Lol. Love it.
Shut up
First number 8 goes charging in head 1st and didn't miss Richie's head, then while sitting there number 17 comes over the top and elbows him on the ground to the jaw, also didn't miss. South Africa can consider themselves lucky it wasn't two reds. Dumb because his side got penalised as well. Take pride in not conceding a penalty, but earning a penalty for your side. Help towards winning the game. Think we won that game.
Maybe you could teach me the lyrics to 'Woe is me' by Sore Loser?
with McCaw on the field, Rugby is the réal loser ! (I'm not SA)
“That’s for the referee” lol.
It looks fine before this annnnnd that is lucky just to be a yellow haha
Well when you let someone continually get away with slowing the play down illegally for his whole career, players will get frustrated. But deserved a red.
@John O'Neill yeah you don't watch rugby... get out old man
Everyone is complaining about how Richie cheats and he's not that good.
Weiner Boop You said exactly what is so wrong - if he can get away with cheating, Good on him. WTF are you a criminal?
If you could cheat in a game and not get caught you would cheat as well
Christo Botha WTF go cry to your mum little cry baby. Check out some of your teams antics before you point the bone boy......
Weiner Boop i wouldnt call it cheating bro, hes a hair away from being cheating, thats what makes him the best number 7 to play the game, george smith from wallabies was the same just wasnt as slick and good as mccaw is
Starts at 01:44
Are you by any chance from New Zealand? The real problem here was the referee, his lack of applying the rules of rugby allowed Richie to continuously be offside and play the ball on the ground. Punching people in the face is a result of this, this will always happen to any team that gets cheated. I am not advocating punching people in the face, the ref however should face severe consequences for such play. This ref was "inconsistant" throughtout the match in applying the rules. That means cheating, unacceptable in a professional sport.
Richie is a class act....he got what he wanted... to play in an offside position ....and get a man in the bin lol
you acting like richies the only one that gets away with stuff, how about bakkies botha and his cheap shots on everyone? richie may cheat the system but he never ever intentionally cheap shots anyone, on the other hand you have bakkies and burger and spiers doing all the cheap shit, so fair is fair, go and cry about it somewhere else
funkmouth
so that means he uses his brain instead of his muscles...
Good analysis
What strikes me about these types of situations is how the "assistant referees" ignore the infringements that lead to the frustration boiling over. Talk about selective decision making......
I'm a south African but I hate hits like that. It's so cheap and childish and you can really do some harm to someone. Inexcusable and juvenile
As the good old saying advises: « hit McCaw every time you have an opening. If you’re not sure why, he does. »
That’s why he’s won more international rugby matches than 99% have played and that’s no joke.
I heard Richie Mccaw become a helicopter pilot, because you enter from the side
"Its for the ref to deal with" unfortunately McCaw got away with that kind of thing his entire career. Any player can be great if they receive special treatment their whole career; e.g: Carter & McCaw.
What rugby have you been watching 🤦🏽♂️😂
Dumbest comment ever
You must be Australian
So all the great players of all teams received special treatment & that's what made them all great, really high IQ comment from you & 8 other imbeciles who liked it.
Got away with being punched in the face?
Mc Caw is a great player, but how's satisfying to see him being hit. In the end end of the day, he handle the punch and obtain a yellow against Greyling.
Love and hate at it's finest.
Even more satisfying is seeing ANOTHER springbuks loss!!!
Probably the worst prop ever to play for the Springboks. I believe he never played after this again.
What a legend!
if that is your way of winning, your so-called victories are just pretend.
What a load of absolute shit!!!
@@patrickmichaelspencecooler4768 lol someone salty as fuck about the kiwis smashing them hahahahah, bloody mining salt over there aye
Stop whinging and whining ffs, girls blouse pussy mf,s
the comments section is so entertaining ...
"That's one for the ref to deal with" well yer duh!!
What do you do with sb who is almost always offside?
McCaw deserved every wallop he got. All professional rugby players play on the margins but somehow McCaw defied the odds and got the benefit of the doubt from the ref in 90% of every 50/50 decision he was involved in. Odds like that would make you a millionaire in Vegas.
Back when rugby was hard as nails. Still a rough game, but the early - mid 2000's were another level of aggression, Da'lagglio , Paul O'Connell, Botha, Chabal, Nonu. Johnson. Absolute unmerciful beasts of men,
Yep; less red cards back then...
And a lot of concussions too
@@rapid1010 some of the most concussive tackles are those that don't touch the head. it's about the whiplash of the brain. many of the "big hits" that have been going on for decades, and still go on, are what cause head trauma. brian lima, allesana tuilagi etc. perfectly legal, but very dangerous. the laws now give the illusion of safety but in reality professionalism ruined rugby as a game.
@@Mr___X I agree with you. Yet there is nothing else they can do mitigate those factors
Many people trash talk McCaw but he was the best captain rugby has ever seen. Possibly the greatest player of all time.
unquestionably the greatest player.
Thank you Dean, you've punch the most offside player in rugby !
GOOD JOB.
Mccaw was the toughest s.o.b I ever saw put on a black jersey.
But in fairness how often does that happen?
It's always funny how precious the kiwis get when it's them on the receiving end.
One hundred percent agree ..

Thesuddentornado that was literally unfortunate contact, they’ve never tried to kill someone during the breakdown lmfaaao
i love the springoks, but that is not how we play rugby, no wonder he is not chosen for the current springbok team, he is a penalty machine, whenever Dean plays you can be sure he is going to give at least 2-3 penalties away. sad really!!
Have to agree with you here.
SakkieSakkie thank you!!!!!!!!
But that is how you play rugby. Always been a dirty side.
The s.african ref " he het the pleyer in the fece" The kiwi commentator "yeh he's going to the Ben"

This is what ignorance looks like.
Man, a few salty comments here!
It's a bit of banter people, chill the fuck out. Vegemite, I would share a feed of fush and chups with you.
McCaw, the kind of player you love in your team, but hate in the opposite one
I would say Jonny Wilkinson was that kind. Richie is just a disgrace for his own team. Not a sport.
Its NOT a yellow, its a RED. I know rugby is a man's game but I've played and this is cowardly and brutal.... its a red for me as its such a cowardly act.
Takes a shoulder charge to the head. Then a flying elbow to the jaw. Gets right back up like it's another day at the office. Greatest Rugby Player Of All Time.
Greatest proven cheat of all time :))
I used to love when oz rugby channels put together a highlight package of mccaw cheating throughout games. Then nz rugby had a massive cry about it so it was discontinued due to saltiness. Funny how Dan carter never needed to go that route.
Except that you can do that crap with ANY player...they all push as far as they can. Check your own team as well
Richie got away with so much its almost justice that someone gave him a little tap.
Niel rossouw true, that's why he said nothing
I will blame Botha for the rest of my life for not breaking McCaw. in my eyes, Botha is guilty !
🤦♂️
and what sport do you play?
Even I booed him when he did that.
Am kiwi fan. I luv how physical SA play, it brings the Best out of both teams🤙
Physical, I agree. But I don't want to watch my team do dumb crap like that! We get beetings at school level to have discipline on the field. I'm going to be sad not seeing us play u guys in the nations... Not the same Championship anymore :(

Richie is a machine, he ain't scared of no-one. He would lay Greyling out in a real fight. And anyone else who think they can go at it with the best.
Thanks to all the haters, it makes it a whole lot sweeter knowing u dont have a Richie playing for your country, and u hate it! Keep having your monthly tradition boys Im sure when McCaw retires you wont need the Libra anymore.

Holding back deserves a card - Kaplan
by Brenden Nel 21 May 2014, 15:45
Top retired referee Jonathan Kaplan has called on referees to stamp out the illegal tactic of holding players back in rugby games.
Much of the attention these past few days has been focused on the red card given to Sharks flanker Jean Deysel and his three-week ban for making contact with the face of a Crusaders player out of frustration as his leg was being held.
But there has been little attention to the fact that the tactic of illegally tackling players away from the ruck, or holding onto them is the problem that often causes the frustration for players and causes them to lash out.
While not trying to justify Deysel’s actions, there is an increasing tendency for teams in Vodacom Super Rugby - particularly those from New Zealand - to use the tactic of holding players back, or use up the space in front of the ball, allowing the ball carrier to slip in behind. It does seem to be an Australasian tendency that is slowly increasing in Super Rugby this year.
Deysel’s act was both reckless and wrong, and he was rightly red-carded by referee Rohan Hoffmann. He can also be very lucky his three-week sentence was as light as it was, with Sanzar’s sanction being seen as very lenient for what was a serious offence
Kaplan has called for referees to take “immediate action” including the immediate issuing of cards for this specific infringement and calls the tactic “the biggest issue in Southern hemisphere rugby at the moment.”
Kaplan told Supersport.com that it may have been difficult for referees to pick it up in the beginning, but it has slowly become worse over the past few years.
“Certainly a few years ago when it reared its ugly head, it was very difficult for referees to pick up because it hadn’t been such a predominant issue in the game as it has become. I’m not sure that a lot of coaching is being put into it, and I’m not sure that the correct sanction is being applied to the transgressor. If the punishment does not fit the crime, then obviously teams will carry on doing it,” he told Supersport.com
“If they are getting away with it and continuing to do it, it sends out a clear message that it is worthwhile to persist with this type of behaviour, because referees are not dealing with this issue effectively.”
Kaplan, who still holds the record for the most test matches by a referee, gave two quick examples of how the tactic was being employed, saying it has a profound influence on the game.
“In an earlier game this season, Nizaam Carr was pinned against the posts for a couple of seconds by a Reds player, and when he finally let him go, the post he was supposed to be defending was pretty much a vacuum and the Reds scored a try under the posts, with nothing done about it.
"Similarly in the game between the Stormers and Crusaders, and no surprise that it is the same team, Jean de Villiers - who I rate as an exceptional captain - was heard talking to the referee, incidentally the same referee Rohan Hoffman, about what the referee wanted him to do because his players were being continually held back.
“There is no question that Hoffman dealt with one instance expertly, where Schalk Burger was held back, but there were numerous others in the game that were missed. That is the real issue. It is not the one or two that are effectively dealt with, it is those missed that are encouraging teams to persist with the behaviour.
“He is a markedly improved referee, but in this particular game he has missed them and missed them repeatedly. Sometimes these type of tactics have a profound influence on the results of matches.”
Kaplan says therefore referees need to get tough and a yellow card is the only way to go for this “cynical” tactic.
“What I advocate is a yellow card. It is a cynical infringement which doesn’t need a warning, it actually needs a card - it needs a yellow card, and an immediate yellow card. If teams see that you are doing it and they are going to be carded, I can almost guarantee they will stop doing it. It is very important to note that, it is a cynical infringement which falls under foul play which does not need a warning.
“Referees are too placating, they are too understanding in respect of this aspect of the game, and they need to ratchet up their sanction a whole lot better than it is at the moment. Whether that requires better coaching or a better understanding of what is at play, that is a moot point.
“But, for sure the sanction needs to be upgraded.”
“These comments are pointing out something that is becoming a big issue in the modern game, particularly in the Southern hemisphere, particularly in Super Rugby and it needs to be eradicated immediately. We cannot wait for next season, it needs to be done now, and the reality is that it has been going on for a few years now and it is becoming progressively worse.
“Either the refs need to be taken to task or they need to be given ammunition to sanction the behaviour in a different way so that it doesn’t persist.”
“I say the same thing every week. It is the biggest issue in Southern hemisphere rugby at the moment. I am hopeful that it will be sorted soon.”

Anshelm44 Please, Bakkies is only good for 2min, McCaw is one of the fittest players in union he'll run circles around Botha. And if did come down to it, Bakkies would have to wait till Richie turns his back. And what a weak mind you have talking perverted nonsense, that's why youre like the rest of the haters, WEAK minded dimwits who don't know the art of open side play. Keep bitching boy.
Superni Ue Whatever mate...the only sense you make is the fact that you admit that Ritchie likes turning his back on "men"...like you I suppose... Hell I bet you couldn`t wait to hit the showers after your rugby games...if you played at all, guess not....anyway, Ritchie is a professional fouler, always on the wrong side, delaying the ball, and sweet-talking the ref. You worry me mate, here we are discussing rugby & brawls and the only thing you think of is men turning their backs....bloody queer, guess it`s a case of a "late night sneaking uncle" with you. Now go look for a goat or a sheep whilst us real men are having a discussion of some rugga!
Superni Ue mccaw can only cheat that is all he knows and i always wondered why his face goes so white hmm maybe he is taking something.
Only way to stop St Richie. Refs never did. He enfringed constantly. Had to be hit. That's all players cld do if the ref won't do his job.

Ah the , 70's ,80's and early 90's before professionalism killed what used to be a man's sport called rugby. Today ballerinas like McCaw exist and can literally be offside all match without anyone doing anything about it. Lineouts are a joke as you might as well throw in a 2 foot dwarf and a forklift to catch the ball. What's the bullshit about flex ,engage , touch and next masterbate. Rugby is over . It's a bore . I fal asleep infront of the boring games where the referee is now important.
Nice one Dean. Nailed Cheater McCaw!
Lol sore loser in life and rugby....i hope you find happiness
Daniboi971 LOL hahaha im South African but that comment made me choke from laughter.

Roydon Frost same thing again, fucken hell??? how is this relevant to this clip??? Richie McCaw didnt hold anyone back??
@@patcam5096 3 World cups
@@steventheron1165 well done dutchman... 🖕🏼😒
Just reaffirms how gutless refs are. Right on front of the touch judge and he recommends a yellow.
The old story about the ref who told the player, "if anybody else hits you, I am sending you off".
Justin Marshall needs the facts before talking like he has them
Marshall is the only guy in the commentary team who knows what he's talking about
CharethCutestory Except when he sees the facts then changes everything he has just said. AGAIN!
Roydon Frost, you complain repeatedly about the ABs getting favourable treatment from the refs, (utter bs) but you seem to forget that pre unification the hometown SA refs were often out and out cheats! No one could win in SA because of the hometown decisions! Until neutral refs, winning in SA was an impossibility! Now look at your home record, especially against the ABs
Yes, Ritchie McCaw. World champion of the „professional foul“ and „playing the referee“. That poor guy in the green jersey never stood a chance.
😂😂😂 good banter bro
Greyling should've deal with mccaw legally to me mccaw and the allblacks always playing off the ball clean outs that is not part of the rucks coming from the side playing offside slowing down the ball
Yep we just saw unbiased reffing at Twickenham and what that meant to NZ
Dussautoire is a better number 7 than McCaw. McCaw is definitely not the best 7 ever seen in rugby. He is amazing but not the best. He plays on the best team in the world so it makes him look even better. But I doubt he would be as good if he played for any other team. And McCaw is known to slow the ball down by cheating. He just gets away with it, I don't know why.
McCaw playing offside as he does so often, at 63' you are tired and take no shit. Good jaw from Ritchie taking such a severe punch and getting up fresh as a flower!
That was worse than a punch!! Launching his over 100kg body towards a players face with his elbow!! Its fucken awesome that he killed his international career right there!! Great stuff
"It's up to the ref to deal with McCaw" - no ref did in his entire playing career so somebody had to take the initiative.
Ya but when a Allblack does something its never a card bullshit
Do you hear that...it`s the worlds smallest violin playing....Shhhhh listen, You can just hear it...
how bout bakkies, cheap shots?? that never gets called on? and i can name another few, richie cheats the system, botha intentionally cheap shots someone to try and take them outta the game...and you complain about richie??
stateaveFTW312 Look at Bothas cheap shot on Marshall (the head butt). Two seconds before, Marshall was pulling his jersey back, but the ref NEVER sees the AB infringement... apparently there are simply a separate set of laws for the ABs.
Masterdebator but you tell me whats worse, the headbutt or the jersey pulling?
Masterdebator Major BS call there. Firstly the Botha headbutt incident was about 3 years after Justin Marshall quit playing, it was Jimmy Cowan he headbutted. Clearly your memory is as clouded as your objectivity when you cannot even identify the players concerned. Secondly Cowan's jersey tug was wrong, and was picked up by the TMO and might well have resulted in a Boks penalty and perhaps more but Botha blew that chance with his reaction and as will always happen the serious foul play will turn around the penalty.
The only mistake I see is that Dean should have done a better job!
131 test wins for the greatest ever. Now go away look up your favourite player of all time and discover that beside 6 or 7 players none have even played that many international matches.
about time somebody poes clapped McCaw
WELL DONE! GOOD JOB MAN!
