How To Style The Boof At No.5 Zambezi

- From the time I started to learn about whitewater around the world, the big boof line on the Zambezi always stuck in my mind as one of the most unique looking moves around. This line is big and rewarding but achievable for many paddlers who head to the Zambezi. I've put together a summary of the useful information to have going into this line, but make sure you scout before running! Levels change and this is a powerful river, make your own decisions based on your own ability! I hope this video can be helpful to any kayakers who want to challenge themselves with a huge boof that feels like flying!
This video is aimed to help and encourage paddlers who are thinking about this line but not quite sure. It is an advanced line due to the scale and potential beating in the right-side hole. Please make your own decisions and never use a UA-cam video as a replacement for scouting!
I'm here for the beaters ;-)
I enjoyed this - even though I'm never planning to paddle it. Would enjoy this sort of videos about uk-based river-features too
Thanks!
I'm coming back for a few weeks so I'll hopefully get a couple of videos done from the UK 🙂
Great info. Bring on the beater footy
On track! Thanks 🙂
Perfect explained, love it !
Awesome video dude. Really informative, and super visuals. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks man!
yeah, would love to see more!
Coming tomorrow!
Hey Alex looks awesome!
Thank you!
Great narration and advice.
Thank you!
Wonderful breakdown! Thank you for taking the time to share this information.
Glad it was helpful!
great video
Thanks!
Let us see the beat down put yes this was a very good and informative video
Thanks! find it tomorrow
So I had a similar beat down in the hole just below the dragons back in a Jackson rockstar, and I must say I still have PTSD over that. my one and only swim on the Zambezi. Do you have any videos of anybody getting caught in the whole just below dragons back on the right? I have one saved somewhere, but I’m not ready to post it yet. Lol. 54 years old when I ran that and it was an eye-opener
I do have a couple of clips somewhere, I had a not very fun time down there once myself. I'll see if there is a good use for uploading them as part of something 🙂
Very informative, thanx! I hope to go to Zambezi this Autumn.
Now let's see the beater fest 😁
Nice! Which month?
@@TraveltoPaddle we're thinking of November
@@adphreak123 maybe see you there!
So, flights are booked. We're there 10-24th Nov. How about that kayaking together? 😇
let's see the beater video!
Coming Friday 😉
seeing u got the level six ace dryskirt, how is urs quality wise? I ordered mine this spring and after a couple of sessions on ww4-5 it got two tears already, are u having the same issues with it or am i just unlucky?
That hole after the boof looks scary!!
If you're off line it is!
Everything everyone has said
give it to me. nice video though man
Thank you!
What is the dam project called? I'd love to be able to do some research so I can go earlier if needed.
I think it is Batoka Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station. Lot's of information available but then sometimes the local feeling in Zambia seems to differ from public news. I've found it hard to keep track of but do research and do make sure you get there!
im here asking for the beater reel😊😎
It's uploaded, just needs to go public 😉 thanks!
beater video?
And that's 10! I should have set a higher target.. thank you!
give us the beaters!
Tomorrow 😉
Definitely not a super hard line but I’ve definitely eaten shit going too far right so long as you’re Center or left it’s probably going to end ok tho
It's a real head-game line, right?
Definitely
No! They are going to build a dam??!!
There have been plans for a dam there on and off for around 25 years or more. In the past few years conversations restarted and I hear good news and bad news alternately so it's hard to tell what's happening. There will be at least 2/3 years left of this section minimum, and that's if plans suddenly shift into overdrive. It may never happen, but plan your kayaking as if it will happen in the next few years, is my advice.
