He heard the story of seven people died... He is right. It was on August 6th 1985, the Africa Raft expedition which disappeard in these rapids. Philippe de Dieuleveult was very famous in France. Only one member was found, two weeks after, 150 km further : he was drowned wtih a broken arm. The other were never found.
Aldready 30 years since P. De Dieuleveult (0:31/0:32) and this team died here. Four drowned, the 3 others were... executed by Congo's military, who thought they were spies, whereas they were just shooting an extreme sport documentary. Thanks for having them included in the vid.
I've been anxiously awaiting for this video to come out since we heard about it at the National Paddling Film Festival in Frankfort, Kentucky back in Feb. From what Steve Fisher told about this EPIC event, I sincerely hope the video is long enough to contain it all! I think the Inga Project should be a mini-series by itself!!
been waiting on this for a while now! looks amazing, another step above 'Frontier', which was a such a brilliant and inspiring film! Fisher, Rush, Marr and Tyler - Respect!!
In general I'd agree, but there were two English guys who paddled a 230 mile stretch of the Congo in a native dugout - and they slept at night in the dugout while it was still afloat. Stark raving bonkers.
I lost my uncle in this river.... not because of the river... but because of the soldiers, they stoll them and killed them. He is actually on the first footage. R.I.P. Good luck.
Those men and women cannot drown there ... with balls that size to enter that river they will never drown there ... There is one person who I know that wouldn`t enter there .... - The youngest child of my mother .... ME .
I miss the days when people went out on adventures without all the obvious branding and endorsements and requisite film tribute to their egos supporting consumerism at every level. We used to just go play or challenge ourselves without pounding our chests and parading like peacocks. Nauseating.
lmao wtf are you even complaining about haha. news flash homie: people still do that. every. single. day. but you are not going to find them on youtube because of the exact reasons you mention. you are here actively engaging in the act of consumerism and complaining about...yourself? 🤣🤣 thousands upon thousands of people have tried these rapids and 99.9% of them didnt have a camera. have you ever been here before? have you tried these rapids? if so you must have succeeded but didnt think it was worth filming and sharing with the world i guess. 🤡🤡🤡
The necessity of hand paddles being attached to the front of the boats shows the power of the river... good lord you guys are crazy.
I just love that line he says:'' The lesson that we learn today is not to fuck with these rapids.''
My brother Guy Collette was part of the expedition of Philippe De Dieuleveult and died that day. Will love to watch the complete movie.
Thank you :-)
Very special brother and family - cheers Dude.
...
Sorry for your loss.

There is no evidence whatsoever that they were shot. The French intelligence agency failed to prove this in their investigation
@@YK-ex4vn Of course there's none, what do you expect? Xerox files?
@@kornofulgurthen don't make such claims?? Based on what?

i want the soundtrack...! where can i get it
Creature Craft would gobble these rapids up with a smile !
Can't wait to see the film! Way to go boys. xoxo
It's not a Steve Fischer film without him dramatically dictating whatever's going on. We need more kayak porn, less foreplay.
Hillarious, dhde.
Thumbs up and I hope you keep rolling back up until death...if that makes a damn bit of sense to ya.
its released but only on dvd so you have to buy it go on the link below video :)
that is more than hollywood worthy story
Assisti o documentário, sensacional a força da natureza é a coragem desses cara, parabéns, espero um dia conhecer esses rios do congo!
could you imagine blowing up that raft at 0:33 with the ole barrel pump!!! its gotta be 35 + feet
Imagine the courage & bravery of somebody like Christopher Columbus, and multiply it by 1000.
not the comparison i was making
Columbus was more mistaken than brave, and I would consider these dudes to be more bored than brave.
heftiges gewässer, respekt !
