I've seen a bazillion reviews on this thing but you're the only person who showed how to put the damned thing together. Thank you for injection common sense in your video.
Very helpful, Thankyou! Couldn’t get the lock in, thought I must be doing something wrong, but your advice, wiggle it and be patient… worked! The printed instructions are worse than hieroglyphics! Yours are A1
Thank you so much Marlene. That was very helpful and you gave just the right amount of details. The printed instructions are horrible and intimidating.
Thanks for the video. I’m in Australia. I have an Audi Q5 as well and it showed me I don’t need to be a light bar but need to get affix a number plate somewhere.
Thanks for the video. I just got one. One suggestion is that you can stagger the two racks farther apart so you dont have to lower the seat on one of them.
For the rail to the main arm, I centered the rail before installing the screws. For putting the first two screws, I left the main rail in the horizontal position, and snugged two screws before lifting to the vertical position. It’s just a more comfortable angle to work at. Once all the screws were in place I made sure to fully tighten until there was no more rotation with some force.
Thank you for the video. I wish you had shown putting on the assembled rack after you had rolled the rack to behind the car. I would have liked to have seen how easy it was for to to get it on the hitch by yourself as my concern is can I do it given the weight is approx. 50 lbs.
You Rock! Thank you. Much better than the paper instructions! Only wish you would have shown how to use the on board bike locks because what appears to be simple…isn’t.
Waiting on mine to come in and this video is a great prep for what I will need to do! Looks pretty easy but heard instructions that come with are not that great.
Marlene, for helping me with my bike rack! It would help to know you kind of have to screw the locks into the holes by turning them clockwise. It's kind of hard to see and of course, the instructions from THULE are the worst in the world!! Your video was very helpful! Thule instructions were really pretty bad!!
i noticed on my bike rack, due to its ability to pivot up and down, the bike rack moves up and down slightly at that pivoting point even when clicked into place (Its barely noticeable but i would expect it to be super solid). I was wondering if it does that on yours too or is something wrong with my bike rack? Otherwise, great review!
I had one loosen a bit. After driving a bit it’s always good to check and retighten . Wiggle the rack as you tighten and it will help make it more solid as the wedge tightens in the hitch receiver
In general I think it’s not recommended for bikes with fenders because the main clamp is on the wheel, not the frame and the fender may interfere. It would be best to confirm with Thule directly.
Nice video. Do you think the XTR improvements are worth it over the XT? As in, how good are those little wheels at making moving the thing around a breeze :)
I would highly recommend the XTR with the wheels. You can roll it close to the receiver and with the front edge resting it makes mounting it much easier. The carrier weights about 50lbs so it’s heavy to move around. Here the price difference was $20, and I believe it was worth it.
@@marleneknebel8666 thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I just checked and the XTR is not available in Australia yet. I'll have to build something for it. Thanks!
I bought the XT, and I ended up building a dolly out of some scrap timber, and a rolling platform. Works a TREAT... Also stops it tipping over awkwardly when not in use
Just found one of these at a garage sell but they didn't come with lock cylinders for the hitch knob and cable lock. I cant seem to find the part number for them. Do you know it?
Hi, it would be best to contact Thule customer support and ask them directly . I don’t work for Thule and can’t answer on their behalf. the only thing I found on the Thule website for weight capacity is here: www.thule.com/en-us/bike-rack/hitch-bike-racks/thule-t2-pro-xtr-2---2-_-9034xtr
I couldn’t figure out how to install the locks for the life of me. You saved me a trip back to the store to get help from the sales person. Thank you!
Just got my Thule bike rack and you saved my life. Your UA-cam video should be mentioned in the Thule T2 Pro X assembly instruction!
Excellent presentation!! Finally, simple instructions without drama. I just assembled mine for my e-bike and it does it’s job!!!
You are a life saver. Finally, someone who knows how to show what they're actually doing and give clear and concise instructions. God bless you.

*Fits my car perfectly with my new **Latest.Bike** raker , very easy to set up and take down. Great quality and price, very happy with this purchase!*
TYVM for this walkthru. Made my assembly process a lot easier

Thanks for the video, you make it look easier than it is actual assembly
Thanks for doing this. I had read that the directions were less than helpful so I looked at your video, and you helped immensely.
I am happy to hear that it helped
Thanks very much. I started with the instructions in the box and couldn't follow. Turned out every other page was blank! haha Your video saved me!
Thank you so much Marlene. That was very helpful and you gave just the right amount of details. The printed instructions are horrible and intimidating.

Thank you, just installed this on my Model Y!
Thanks Marlene. You have provided very helpful visual instructions for the Thule T2 PRO XT.
Excellent video. Straight forward and to the point. Thanks I assembled and installed my XTR yesterday.
Thanks! We have ordered the 2 bike add-on, so when it arrives in a couple of weeks we will update the video to show it as a 4 bike carrier.
Super helpful. Thanks fot posting. I’ll subscribe and hopefully you continue posting videos.
Thanks so much. Where i am having trouble is getting the rack off. Having trouble with the key

Very helpful indeed. Thanks fir such a clear explanation
That is great!
Wow , just the right amount of detail… This was very helpful !...thank you for taking the time to do this!
My pleasure, I’m happy this video helped!
Great video. Thank you - about to assemble mine!
Very helpful video. Thank you! How do you adjust the rail? How tight should the screws be on the rail to the rack?

very helpful and simple to understand! :)
Exactly what I needed!

Try this website. Hope it works for you.

Remember that flat key without teeth is how you install those locks without issues.
Helpful video, thanks for posting
Why is the load rating so low? My 2 ebikes are over the limit.

That locking pin doesn't lock
I got the model without wheels, new in box for 400.00$
You skipped putting the lock tumblers in. That’s the part I need to see how to do.
That was too easy.
There si NO consistant sound volume in this video! It is bad, bad!!!
Thank you!
