- HAPPY HALLOWEEN....in SUMMER! Gravity Falls has a tradition of doing a 2nd halloween, and while Dipper and Mabel typically go trick or treating together, this year Dipper may want to impress Wendy and not use a costume. At the same time, a horrifying creature stalks our group, and promises calamity if they don't collect enough candy! This episode was amazing, and could not have come at a better time!!

@@b3yourself91 The diamonds got redeemed for no reason and in future Pearl's character gets reset, and all of Steven's PTSD comes out of nowhere.
As someone that worked a summer in a store where children constantly pressed and started the talking toys, the store employee is the most relatable character of the episode.
Adventure time would have a rough start for this channel since the earlier episodes are just wacky. But there's SO MUCH good content later on. Plus we have the Distant Lands and Fiona spin offs.
If they do 2-3 episodes per they can get through seasons 1 in a breeze.

It is a very long show though, something to consider.
@@simongosselin4300 going by hours its actually shorter than other shows they have already watched, its about 34 hours for the original series, while AOT is 36 for the entire thing. Adding the 4 specials and F+C it still isn't that much longer.
They have a tendency to look very deeply into things so I think they would still like the character stuff before the show even gets much story. Plus I just think they would find it funny in general. But yeah they would really need to do 2 episodes a week otherwise its not really worth it at all.
Good choice having this drop before episode 11 so it releases right on Halloween. I love _Summerween!_ The idea of Halloween in summer is great, and the monster is really creative. I also love how for a Halloween episode, it's nowhere near as creepy as the show gets.

Adventure time as such a good show I'd highly reccomend
a few spoiler-free things
1. The flyer for the party was supposed to say "bottles will be spun" Disney didn't like that for no reason, so Alex Hirsch replaced it with not S+P approved to be a justified dick. They responded with "not S+P approved has been approved by S+P." Screw Disney.
2. One of the writers just wanted a character named Gorny, so they threw him in there to up the stakes
3. When the kids run away screaming from Stan, Disney really didn't like that, so added some shorts in-between shots. I like to imagine those weren't there when the kids saw him. It would be scarring for life.
I don’t blame Disney for the 3rd one. While it would’ve been funny, I imagine they’d be scared of having one of their main characters flashing a bunch of children lol
Adventure time is one of my favorite shows of all time it would be cool if that was a show you guys started.
I'd side with everyone promoting Adventure Time, save only one possible caveat, which is that there's a LOT of show there to watch. If you do Adventure Time, you're committing yourself to at least ten seasons with over 280 episodes, and that's ignoring the various specials and spin offs. So only commit to it if you're ready for that!

@@zephshoir it wouldn’t take too long to watch through it all. all the episodes are 11 minutes long and each season varies in length. 6 episodes is roughly an hour so depending on one’s schedule you could easily get through most of the first 2 seasons in a week or so
Its not actually that long. each episode is 10 minutes. Every season is only around the length of a long movie.@@zephshoir

5:10 - fun fact, we had a golden retriever called Jake when I was growing up in the 90s, (he was born in the late 80s, well before Adventure Time was a thing), and more recently, my mam got another golden retriever puppy, and called him Finn. She has no knowledge of Adventure Time whatsoever - she just liked the name Finn, so that lining up is total coincidence =P

I Wish Halloween Would Celebrated Twice In Real Life, The Bright Side Of Summerween? No Coats To Wear! 🎃😆
One of the things I really like about this episode is how Mabel talks about how she's upset because she didn't realize that this was already their last Halloween. At its core, Gravity Falls is all about the relationship between siblings, and how it changes over time as they grow up. This episode is one of the ones that showcases that really well.
Edit: and yes, Summerween is because they wanted to do a Halloween episode, but the entire run of the show (both seasons) takes place over the course of a single summer, so they had to invent a copycat holiday to do a Halloween episode lol
The summerween monster is based after No Face in Spirited Away! It’s a wonderful ghibli movie.
Kenny doesn't care what religion or sexuality or gender or anything his kids are. But they will enjoy candy corn or they will not be welcome.
Me 10 years ago. I love the "spirited Away " theme of this episode, and its so scary.
Me now: Dipper you were going to ditch Mabel on y'alls favorite holiday, that y'all spent all day planing for, to go meet a girl, already in a relationship, at a party that wasn't even going to start until after trick or treating was over? Doing both was completely possible! Your supossed to be the one who is good at Planning/schedules!

adventure time is definitely a commitment since it’s so long and the first few seasons are mostly just wacky shenanigans, but i’d definitely enjoy seeing you guys react to and discuss it! there aren’t nearly enough adventure time reactions, and you guys are some of my favorite reactors, so i’d love to see it. the show is so fun and the lore is top tier, especially with the later seasons and spin-offs, distant lands and fionna and cake!! :))

Adventure Time would be a long commitment, but definitely think it'd be a great reaction series, just gotta be ready for it to take up a chunk of your schedule for a couple years
4:06 there's a joke in the flyer with a story.
Alex wanted it to say something like bottles will be spined. So the S and P ( standard and practice the guys who said what is allowed in TV) didn't let him put it.
So he was pissed, so they put " not s and p approved" and when they try to tell them not too, he responded:
"Why?"
So they had to allowed it
Adventure time is a really good choice for a show especially since it’s has ALOT of lore, story, and plot and it’s actually a lot better than gravity falls. The only thing that kinda sucks is that season 1 doesn’t include a lot of lore like season 2-10. It’s the best CN show btw

Adventure time would be nice to see because it starts so weird I want to see your reactions but specially Montana's because we're going to get to see her brain adapting to the madness (Kenny's too since he hasn't seen it in a long time but he might come somewhat prepared) and how long it will take for your brains to roll with that madness

... Anyway, on rewatching this, it really stands out to me how Dipper is in such a hurry to grow up. That's really the central flaw of his character, his crush on Wendy is part of that too (wanting to seem mature to impress an older kid). People don't really seem to talk about how that's unhealthy as much as they go on about Mabel being childish.
This. To add to the point, Mabel is not acting childish just because. She's shown to be well aware that she HAS to grow up and be matured at some point, and in her mind that time is very VERY close.
Even tho you can still be a kid at heart and enjoy doing stuff kids enjoy like trick-or-treating when you're an adult, sadly lots of adults will still judge others for being "childish". Mabel clings to her childhood and her "childish" activities with Dipper precisely because in her mind (and let's be real, in lots of people's mind) they're getting close to the age that they won't be able to do these things anymore.

It's a joke that Alex Hirsch worked in when Disney's Standards and Practices department (S&P) took issue with the original line, "Bottles will be spun", because they thought it was too mature. Hirsch was pretty fed up with them by them and told them to change it to "Not S&P Approved". They objected once, Hirsch stuck to this, and this became the line.
Adventure time would be awesome on this Channel! I would just suggest a paced down watchlist that skips some of the filler because there are 10 seasons with some having 50 episodes and not all of them are important

The last time I went trick or treating I was a freshman in highschool. I remember being so excited to so it with a group of friends for the first time, and there were so many adults that gave us dirty looks and one house even refused to give us candy. It was overall a fun night, but I was really sad when I realized my favorite holiday would never be the same.
Adventure Time is a good show, and it's right up your alley. I do think you should watch it at some point, but I was hoping we would get Jujutsu Kaisen reactions from ya'all first. Either way, I'm down. :P

the candycorn fight... well it was a good marriage while it lasted... lol. I went to the summerween convention a while back too. I love that you guys got this out on Halloween too. for those keeping up the cryptogram in the credits says "YILFTSG GL BLF YB SLNVDLIP: GSV XZMWB." which translates to: "BROUGHT TO YOU BY HOMEWORK: THE CANDY." I think I'll comment the cryptograms from here on out.

I actually had someone say 'arent you a little old for this' one year and it sucked. I was taller then everyone my age. Spent the next three years, following my friends while they trick or treated but i didnt go up to any doors anymore

Adventure Time isn’t a bad choice, but I’ve been dying for you two to watch BoJack Horseman or Steven Universe. It’s just so hard to compete with the more popular shows though.

Fun fact: the pamphlet at 4:06 was originally intended to say "bottles will be spun" but Disney's Standards & Practices objected to it since the implication of teenagers kissing was too much for children (unlike the scene right afterwards where a kid gets eaten alive, that one was perfectly fine for children to witness), so it eventually got replaced with "not S&P aproved" but first someone had to send an email stating that ""not S&P aproved" has been aproved by S&P" with a straight face.
i think the payoff to watching adventure time is worth it! i would absolutely love to see your reactions to it, especially seasons 5-10 and the spin offs. there are over 250 episodes though. if you uploaded one episode a week it would take years to get through it, so maybe you could combine two episodes in one video? idk lol

Mable clings to their Twin identity more _because_ she has an easier time making friends. Dipper is only trying to pull away from these things because he wants to impress other people so bad, and Mable never worries about that, so she doesn't look at any of the goofy things they do together as embarrassing. Dipper feels like he has to separate a little from her if he wants a chance at ever making other connections, but she doesn't have that same problem.

I have an aunt that lives in a town that doesn’t do trick or treating on Halloween night but the last Saturday of October. I’d get to go trick or treating twice, which means twice as much candy, which my mom loved because any chocolate candies I didn’t like she got.
One time, it was near the end of the night and we came to this house that dumped AN ENTIRE BOWL OF CANDY into my bag!! They told us they were finishing up so the last kid who came to their house would get every last bit of candy in the bowl.

I would love for you guys to react to adventure time! It’s a slow burn in the first season since the plot isn’t super fleshed out but afterwards it goes full force. That and the episodes are hilarious and a lot of character growth as the show continues

I realized that the design for the "Summerween Trickster" is like "No Face" from the anime movie Spirit Away but he has a happy face mask instead of a traditional Japanese mask. plus he had the same body when he grew arms and legs
I think this was actually the first episode of Gravity Falls I ever watched. Dunno how that happened, but I always enjoy coming back to it.
Disney replayed this episode a lot in syndication on their channels. The worst one for me was Double Dipper, but this one was also shown a lot.

I loved the design and voice for the Trickster, and the "reveal" was so out of left-field, but so well telegraphed I kicked myself for not guessing it. Also, it's funny. My son doesn't like chocolate and has a peanut allergy. My daughter has a tree nut allergy (but not vice-versa). So, before any normal Halloween candy trading took place, they did trading on chocolate and pea/tree-nut lines first.
Bruh- I’m literally dressed as the villain of Gravity Falls for Halloween while watching 2 of my favorite reactors watch the Halloween episode of Gravity Falls, how perfect is that!?
Halloween-esque episodes of any series (live-action or animated) usually bore me because they usually don't do much with the premise. Sure, the characters might put on some costumes and have a monster-of-the-week adventure while out getting candy, but that's probably the safest and laziest route to go with a holiday that is meant to challenge kids' wits and push them outside their comfort zone.
Thankfully, _Gravity Falls_ refuses to go the ordinary route by giving us a horror themed monster that is actually a manifestation of all the unwanted candy kids throw away and the psychological harm that can come from being systematically rejected for being who you are. You also get a deeper look into Dipper and Mabel's viewpoints on being kids. Mabel wants to keep up their twin-themed costume tradition alive because she knows it won't last much longer and wants to enjoy these moments with her brother that has been her most supportive friend in her life. Meanwhile, you have Dipper still grappling with the awkward transition phase from young boy to teenager and wanting to shed the aspects of childhood that he thinks others see as "uncool." Pretty sure they'll both come to a mutually beneficial understanding on dressing up for this holiday when they're older and realize adult costume parties are even better than wandering around a dark neighborhood with an overstuffed candy bag.
Also, Soos literally eating his way out of the Summerween Trickster continues the show's tradition of mixing comedic punchlines with horrifying implications.
The "Not S+P Approved" line on the party flier has a hilarious origin. Basically, Alex Hirch had to fight the Disney S+P on a number of insanely small details, and he released some of the more ridiculous ones a while back. You should check it out after you finish the show, it's a laugh.
