I don't know what the people in the comments section are so pressed about. She was not interrupting him. It's difficult to have a normal conversation via an audio call like system and all she was doing was responding and interacting with him.
he said that if you dont find something bigger than yourself you will eventually get depressed, isnt that fundamentally not true. Many people are one step too far in thinking about life, love, happiness, money and desires etc etc. All of that is a thinking mind, a thinking mind can produce wrong illusions. Once the mind(you) understands that the default state of the mind is just being right there in the moment as an happening observant you will understand that life itself is bigger than you. If you just listen and watch what really is going on without mind being enforced upon things you will find that you already have peace, love and creativity. Also i find that food plays very big if not the biggest role in being happy. Once i consume lots of carbs and keep that for several days i find myself thinking more than usually and i find myself very rarely thinking like a depressed person. I was depressed in the past and it was all my own fault, no one else, i didnt learn how to get along with the mind, as an child almost none of us was teached that in the western world.
I think most people think of money, life, career etc only in relation to themselves, which makes them depressed. But genuinely being interested in other things in life (a problem to solve, kids that you think of more than yourself) gets rid of the mentality of thinking of yourself. Which would in turn make you happier
Wow, ..that's crazy how dense the wisdoms just blurts out of this person. Good for him (and us). I know him for a while, but am not really sure why I havn't look close into what he's saying. Perhaps the whole 'everyone can / should get rich - effectiveness / optimizations thing' is putting me off. There is nothing wrong with that, but it's just not my cup of tea, resp. I don't necessarily resonate with a lot of this. But I will re-listen to this snippet for sure! Good stuff..
Naval is for people who want a beacon of hope without much thought. I don't think his advice works well for people who have already thought about this stuff.
I have known married couples without children by choice who are happy. They make their financial freedom pets travelling as purpose. On the other hand many married with kids are extremely depressed stressed unhappy and projecting the unhealed trauma on their children who grow up with neglect and creaate a version of themselves suited for compliance of parents. There can be be multiple perspectives and realities. A lot of psychologists now say it's betteer to heal before having children or seek healing while raising kids , somehow anything outside might not always fill the inner void. Children suffer when parents make children their own projects coz children lose themselves , become Codependant adults or narcissistic as they had a version suited to become projects of parents.
@@ScottAdamLancaster I did not say that. He spoke continuously for almost the entire clip. I personally did not find her interjections inappropriate or disruptive. Perhaps you might want to listen again to the part where he explains that each desire is like a cloud blocking out the sunshine of peace. perhaps your desire for this conversation to have gone differently is one of those clouds.
This guy is great has literally all the answers all this time i thought the world was hard but i just needed to remove all these stupid desires once i got rid of this dumbass desire to feed my kids and my family I was much happier :)
Why so cynical? I think I might know what you're getting at though, as happiness is not sustainable (as said in the video) and the more you try to attain happiness through external things the farther away it becomes. But, as a 31 guy why suffered from depression for over 20 years (8-28) I'm now depression-free for about 3 years. I'm not happy all the time, but I'm not unhappy and that's amazing to me!

What an intelligent man.
yes he is
Yes he is, but also a lot of what he says are the exact words his coach kapil gupta md uses, so he's a good student too.
You are intelligent yourself man!!?

His voice is meditative
This video should definitely and needs more views!
When you see a kid thats unhappy you ask whats wrong, when you see an adult thats happy you ask whats up?
A big takeaway right here
It makes me so happy this video didn't have any dislikes.... Loved the content .. lots to take from this❤️

If you dont love yourself first, i think you are not able to love anybody else though.
He didn't say "Don't love yourself" he said "don't be obsessed with oneself" and rather engage with something with higher purpose.
Both acts feed one another. Do both.
He is in a nice way saying he is a bit over his wife haha
the pause when she asked about marriage is so long ..LOL
Yes 😂😂
Also he realised where he was heading to with his words so he immediately diverted it to having kids 😂
How can I contact Naval Ravikant, I seriously need to ask him something.

Eye opening stuff!! The interviewer seemed a bit rude though!
5:20 The false game: the fake, Royal pageantry of high school, where there’s popular kids and unpopular kids.
Good video, but the way the interviewer cut him off on various occasions was a little sharp (in my humble opinion).
It wasn’t an interview, it was a casual conversation
@@jacktinney So it's good manners to cut someone off in a causal conversation?
