The fact that Arthur still wanted to help Dutch at the end by informing him that Micah was a rat after this mission says a lot. I think a lot of us would have left Dutch for leaving when he very well could have done something to help.
@@Pio-Neer1More than that, actually. Even before this mission Arthur has already mentioned to John that loyalty was his schtick. He then said "Be loyal to what matters" instead. At the end, Arthur had what Dutch always sought for: faith.
Dutch también merecía morir, le dio la espalda aquí y en la montaña. Por misiones como estas las últimas palabras que le dice a Dutch de “Te di todo lo que tenia” tienen un peso increíble.
I love the symbolism in this mission. This whole battle represents the past vs. the future. When Arthur says “this fight is un-winnable” he is implying how the past’s unable to fight the future. Arthur’s statement also accentuates Dutch’s greatest rival - time. Dutch is an old soul fighting to prevent the upcoming “Exodus in America” (The name of the first rdr1 mission). The main reason Dutch goes so crazy (aside from the death of numerous gang members, the law constantly following his gang, and his head injury) is because deep down he knows that this fight is un-winnable but he won’t admit it (That’s the paradox he talks about before he commits suicide). Moreover, the rest of the gang members know the battle is un-winnable because (even if they kill everyone) more will come. I love the theme of how time is inevitable and that no one can escape it. It’s one of the chief themes in both Red Dead games and it’s arguably the main theme of this mission.

One of the many things i love about this mission, is the parallel in the native's/gang's struggle. Where once the cowboys, outlaws and natives squared off, are now being run out of their existence from civilisation. Eagle Flies like Dutch naively believes they can fight against the unstoppable force, that their way of life must prevail, whilst Rains Fall knows that their fight is already lost, and to save the little they have left. The same thing Arthur comes to realise throughout the game. Loved this section of the game.
True, Arthur views him as a father, a mentor and a leader, that same leader for whom he killed, robbed and beat the sht out of innocent people turned his back when he needed him the most and then tried to gaslight him. You know Arthur lost all the respect he had for Dutch when he bragged about the money without worrying about Eagle Flies and the consequences this will have to the native Americans tribe

I just love Charles, Sadie and johns loyalty to Arthur. I know he says he’s not a good man sometimes but they can sense he does the right thing when it comes to it. and even though it was Dutch and Arthur who saved Sadie, I think she’s more grateful to Arthur cause she never bats an eye when it comes to sides
2:20 to hear a father’s plea as his son rides to his death is heartbreaking. He wanted his last son to live in peace but can do nothing as he watches the future of the tribe disappear into the meat grinder, bringing death to the people they wanted to protect… In the end, it was for nothing.

To be fair, let’s say they adapt it *perfectly* into a show with the perfect actors (perhaps just use the voice actors) Imagine how epic this could be. Season 1 - Chapter 1 up until the shootout in Valentine Season 2 - arrival in Rhodes till the assault on Braithwaite manor (with the cliffhanger being that Jack is in Saint Denis and the closing shot off the season being the first shots of Saint Denis we get in the game) Season 3 - arrival in Saint Denis up until the failed bank robbery with the cliffhanger being the shot of Arthur arriving on Guarma Season 4 - Arrival on Guarma up until the Fleeting Joy mission (if they keep it short, they might be able to combine Guarma with the next season) Season 5 - Arrival in Beavers Hollow up until Arthurs redemption. Season 6 - Both epilogues Season 7 - The first game

I'm pretty sure Eagle Flies visited the camp before this mission asking Arthur and Charles for help getting him back his horses that the army stole off them.
At this point the gang isn't what it once was. Dutch's gang when it was formed was about helping the weak with money by robbing the rich to give to the poor, sending people off into fights that they are going to lose shows that the gang has lost it's way and not to mention the gang has lost several members in quick succession by this point as well. Leopald, Mary Beth, Karen, Molly, Pearson, Reverend Swanson and Uncle have all either left the gang or in one case died. Security is lax because they have so little members.
0:25 in the back ground, you can see charles sadie and john backing up arthur as they were about to start an argument. plus if it werent for eagle flies, the gang wouldve been split up this way
This is honestly is one of the best missions in the game, not only because of the story, but also because of it basis in real history. While the Wapiti are fictional, but their struggle is very much real. Eagle Flies very much seems to draw inspiration from Sitting Bull, Red Cloud and Crazy Horse (especially since the Wapiti seem to be Lakotan) While I'm not Native American, its great to see Rockstar shine a huge spotlight on a part of history that is often not treated with the weight it deserves. American West has always interested me and was one the modules I did as part of my history education, and Native Americans were a massive part of that module. I really hope that one day I can travel and learn more about it
The music, the characters, the environment, the voice, the gun everything is just perfect also the gameplay isn't looking like playing game it is precisely played to make it seem like movie.
I've replayed this game a bunch and it still kills me to see Arthur die,but redeem himself from everything the gang did throughout the whole game, coming to terms with mortality and choosing to see if he lives long enough to die a villain or die a hero, hence Arthur's "Red Dead Redemption".
Dutch is manipulated so easy, and quick to betray long time friends. I think Arthur's father Lyle died because of Dutch. One of the first missions in horseshoe Hosea and Dutch bicker about right and wrong, Hosea looks down; possibly guilty of being a part of Lyle's death but having regret, Dutch just acts like nothing.
Because being someone who should have died sooner is how Arthur feels about himself too. He doesn’t feel he’s any better than Lyle, so he keeps his hat, and photo, to remind himself “see? This is who you are, what you are. A no good criminal.”
god the starting scene between rains fall and his father is just so well done, the desperation in him to save what little left remains of his family and tribe only to get pushed aside by the only family he has left is just heartbreaking
Dutch's development reminds me of Walter White's a bit. They both start off as seemingly moral people who are after money for understandable reasons, until they start doing something that descends them into evil. Dutch killing that innocent woman in Blackwater and Walt letting Jane die, before becoming the worst versions of themselves, or as Arthur says about Dutch, who they really are.

And the friendly npc's in the side of Arthur dying is even more epic and imersive.
Gives me chills, when they all are in line to help indians
5:49 Look how he looks at John…
Idk for some reason I think his thoughts were: Take your family and get out of here…
One of the best missions in the game
6:41 that cavalry charge was beautiful
One of the most bad arse scenes ever 6:44. It gave me chills when I first did this mission
Charles is a legend
@@Masterwicked yes :3 he’s definitely one of my faves
22:08 no one is talking about the Indian chant here. It gave me goosebumps and I even teared up this game is truly amazing
Dutch: hello, son!
Eagle flies: 🏃✨~hey~✨
2:20 to hear a father’s plea as his son rides to his death is heartbreaking. He wanted his last son to live in peace but can do nothing as he watches the future of the tribe disappear into the meat grinder, bringing death to the people they wanted to protect…
In the end, it was for nothing.
Not gonna lie when Charles said we're riding with you, and then the scene after is getting me goosebumps and said "HOLLY SHIT THAT'S REALLY FUCKIN COOL"
This is my favorite story mission Charles and Sadie ridding with Arthur and the other natives the soundtrack gives you instant goosebumps and the charge it just runs down your spine the emotion
Me at the boys when we arrive at a party 6:44
I hope Netflix doesnt find out about RDR2.
To be fair, let’s say they adapt it *perfectly* into a show with the perfect actors (perhaps just use the voice actors) Imagine how epic this could be.
Season 1 - Chapter 1 up until the shootout in Valentine
Season 2 - arrival in Rhodes till the assault on Braithwaite manor (with the cliffhanger being that Jack is in Saint Denis and the closing shot off the season being the first shots of Saint Denis we get in the game)
Season 3 - arrival in Saint Denis up until the failed bank robbery with the cliffhanger being the shot of Arthur arriving on Guarma
Season 4 - Arrival on Guarma up until the Fleeting Joy mission (if they keep it short, they might be able to combine Guarma with the next season)
Season 5 - Arrival in Beavers Hollow up until Arthurs redemption.
Season 6 - Both epilogues
Season 7 - The first game
@@RedDeadDepressionist Lets be realistic here: If RDR2 is made into a Netflix Series, all male actors are killed in the first Episode and the Rest is about a (for some reason suddenly) black, asian, gay Sady Eagle (because Adler is Na*i) and it will be a 3 Season series made around that one womens rights mission in the game.
@@derrattenjunge Lmao ok buddy
@@ripvanwinkle532yes feller
@@ripvanwinkle532 I mean...dearrattenjunge isn't really wrong. Movies and shows have gone to that path now. I basically can imagine how would that be, but, I don't want it to happen like that.
I dont know if there will ever be another studio that can make a game as incredible and beautiful as Red Dead Redemption 2.
If the mission at 6:45 were the only mission in the entire game it would still be better than the vast majority of shit released in the last 10 years.
"majority of shit released in the last 10 years"
Your head is so far up your ass it's blinding you. Sure bad games are getting made but rdr2 isn't the only good game on this earth my man and half life 2 can prove just that
Yeah, then they chucked this game under the bus to work on that phantom GTA game that probably won't come out for another 20 years.
RDR2 has become my measuring stick when it comes to open world games.
I love the argument they have while riding towards the mission, it shows how much the gang has fallen apart. John is fuckign sick of Dutch lol 4:12
Imagine the adrenaline Eagle Flies got when he saw Dutch's gang and Indians riding to save him and his people
16:05 so sad to see Dutch hated Colm O'driscall but ended up like him
Arthur: Go with him, try and help there, I'm better off alone.
Charles: We're riding with you.
Arthur: C O M E O N T H E N!
"HEEYYYYYAAAAA"
This mission was insane! the pacing, the way charles said "we're rifing with you" and all the people arthur helped out within this chapter lined up was so sick
This was the most badass part of the game. Riding on line down the hill with that music was legendary.
"We're almost free?"
Coughs a few minutes later.
I had goosebumps when Charles said " we are riding with you" I was like ' hell ya Charles let's go !"
Rains Fall: "As your chief, I implore you..."
Bill: (nudges John and chuckles) "Implore."
Nice "gang hideout" they have there when 30 indians just find it instantly
I'm pretty sure Eagle Flies visited the camp before this mission asking Arthur and Charles for help getting him back his horses that the army stole off them.
Rains fall vist before
@@thefiend4581 Precisely
At this point the gang isn't what it once was. Dutch's gang when it was formed was about helping the weak with money by robbing the rich to give to the poor, sending people off into fights that they are going to lose shows that the gang has lost it's way and not to mention the gang has lost several members in quick succession by this point as well. Leopald, Mary Beth, Karen, Molly, Pearson, Reverend Swanson and Uncle have all either left the gang or in one case died. Security is lax because they have so little members.
Is it me or is the audio out of sync?
It is out of sync and it's a bit annoying
Not for me
@@alphax2808 how the song is epic
@@OOGABOOGAdude656the song itself was good but it was out of sync with the video that makes it sound bad
I am not Native American but there is one tingling in me that i am native American
When the music started and you rushed down hi fuckkng Gave me chills
0:25 in the back ground, you can see charles sadie and john backing up arthur as they were about to start an argument. plus if it werent for eagle flies, the gang wouldve been split up this way
4:13 funniest line in the game
The Braithwaite manor and this mission is just peak badass moments tbh.
6:43 Avengers Assemble but it's 1899
8:05 charles casually shoots 4 shots out of a double barrel shotgun
Do not question his methods
Wizard did it.
This is honestly is one of the best missions in the game, not only because of the story, but also because of it basis in real history. While the Wapiti are fictional, but their struggle is very much real. Eagle Flies very much seems to draw inspiration from Sitting Bull, Red Cloud and Crazy Horse (especially since the Wapiti seem to be Lakotan)
While I'm not Native American, its great to see Rockstar shine a huge spotlight on a part of history that is often not treated with the weight it deserves.
American West has always interested me and was one the modules I did as part of my history education, and Native Americans were a massive part of that module. I really hope that one day I can travel and learn more about it
King rains fall’s speech broke my heart 😢
You literally cannot get more Wild West than this. An awesome guitar riff, cowboys and Indians, epic shootout. This mission literally cannot be topped
6:45 wow that theme and riding is so badass
The music, the characters, the environment, the voice, the gun everything is just perfect also the gameplay isn't looking like playing game it is precisely played to make it seem like movie.
this is my favorite mission, the hype i felt riding down the hill with the entire posse made me feel like i was at the head of a damn army
The ride down the hill is the most badass moment in the game, change my mind I dare you
9:05 Lmao Arthur always be so random yet so funny
4:17
John's IQ raised a few numbers just for saying those flamboyant words.
16:02 😢😢 Dutch didn't helped Arthur and left him die. He betrayed Arthur.
I got chills when the wolf howled as Eagle Flies died.
That doesn't make sense because they found Arthur when he was 15 years old and his father died when he was really young
bandit Arthur’s Father death when arthur was 11 , and Dutch and hosea find Arthur when he was 14
Arthur says "My father, I watched him die, and it weren't soon enough" indicating they had a shitty relationship, Arthur probably killed him himself
Because being someone who should have died sooner is how Arthur feels about himself too. He doesn’t feel he’s any better than Lyle, so he keeps his hat, and photo, to remind himself “see? This is who you are, what you are. A no good criminal.”
No, Arthur's father was an alcoholic. Dutch eventually took Arthur under his wing, so he saw him as a replacement father figure.
6:49 The best part of videogame
The fact Dutch was completely willing to let go of Arthur in this mission is sad
Maaaaan I have to restart this mission just to experience again this masterpiece at 6:45
Same
when Charles and the indians started riding alongside Arthur i got so overestimulated it was awesome.
god the starting scene between rains fall and his father is just so well done, the desperation in him to save what little left remains of his family and tribe only to get pushed aside by the only family he has left is just heartbreaking
12:27 when Arthur says “i don’t get you” you can feel the frustration in his voice and annoyance with Dutch as he tells him that
this mission felt so badass when you were riding with the gang when the cutscenes stopped, i knew this would be the best mission (imo)
14:36 kinda looked like dutch wanted to give arthru a hug, but arthur just grabed the paper
Low-key listen to this while at the gym
6.42 was one of the best cinematic momants in this game
I got chills when he goes “my son my last son” I don’t know why
6:44 and the attack on braithwaite manor were 2 of the most goosebump giving moments in gaming history 🙏
Watching it burn like this is even better
15:46 that trigger finger was faster than usain bolt
Idk if usain is spelled right lol
Remembered that happening in that one mission with Sadie and christ the sound it makes when that happens in deadeye
The shot of the natives and outlaws as the musical score with the native battlecries was so perfectly done.
I love when the horse tilts his head when Arthur falls over
“You good dog?”
all the chaos in such a scenic beauty.
6:45 that moment it's so epic!
I'm playing rdr2 for the second time. one of the best missions of this game 💯
