I spent a day with Robin Boucher and had to ask a few questions...

Having visited Boucher Guitars and met Robin a few months ago, this captured his essence and the vibe of this company. It’s makes me proud to own 3 Boucher guitars, and even more proud to be Canadian. These guys make tremendous acoustics and so down to earth. We need more people like this in the music community.
Great video. I learned two things. First, wasn’t aware Robin was an originator to the torrefication process- impressive. Secondly, that Robin has such a welcoming disposition displayed in many ways by not locking down an invention that has helped the ENTIRE community instead of just his business- much respect. Hat’s off my friend.
Robin got a Montreal university (McGill I think) to do the R&D on this. He did not originate it. They perfected it though with an enhanced process that that is more effective. In particular, it uses a lower temperature and longer period and a set preparation of the wood prior to the torrification.
Wow! Those are amazing guitars. Jeremy, loving the series on Boucher. Well done!
Robin Boucher is such a likeable and cool guy and those guitars are amazing. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks Jeremy. Robin is such a likeable guy, I enjoy listening to him speak about guitars and hope that I can see my way to owning one of his guitars in the future.
Every aspect of this is incredibly enjoyable. It is an inspiration to listen to someone so centered as M. Boucher, and your playing really gave depth to the incredible nuance and character of each of his creations.
You know, one of the most captivating things is listening to people who are passionate and knowledgeable show their expertise. Whether it's going to watch a musician play in concert, watch a great luthier work on a guitar, or listening to Robin talk about woods and guitars.
Robin Boucher and Guillaume Da Silva are truly exceptional people and together with their highly skilled Luthier team craft many of the finest acoustic guitars made today!
World class absolutely and Jeremy your interview with Robin Boucher flew by and left me wanting more..
Thanks to all.
Nice interview with Robin Boucher of Boucher guitar! and Boucher cost Too Much for me but a Norman B20 is all i can afford!but i still dream of a Boucher and Martin guitar!
Dreams can become a reality. It starts with a plan.
Impossible to not love Robin Boucher. He's making incredible guitars, but also seems to be making an incredible work space for his team. Makes me proud to own one of these incredible instruments.
I've been following Boucher guitars through J.P., the Acoustic Shoppe and you. What a wonderful human being. No wonder his guitars are so nice. I want one now more than ever.
Great video, Jeremy. You and Robin are a pair of beauties!
Oh my. Those maple guitars are so beautiful to see and hear. Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Jeremy. Peace
Been waiting on this one
Great video Jeremy, I enjoyed watching Robin's passion for building his company. They all sound fantastic, and maybe I will try one someday.
Bonjour Jeremy, I'm from Quebec, I'm an exclusive and absolute acoustic guitar player and I want to thank you so much to help this incredible band of artists to be well known. I'm still not a Boucher owner but I work all days to make this dream come true.
Long live to Boucher guitars and Guitar Hunter!
I bought my PS-SG-161 back in February of this year and what a fine instrument it is! The flame pattern on the back is stunning and like you said, it's really 3D, amazing pieces of wood. And the sound is beautiful too of course.
I'd like to meet Robin in person one day and thank him for building such a fine guitar.
Great video, love the story about Boucher Guitars! Thanks!
Loved the video amazing sounding guitars the parlour HG sounds amazing 🎸
Bravo, Jeremy! Very exciting, new maker to me..
So sweet. Thanks for bringing Boucher to us.
Amazing guitars, and beautiful instruments. Love hearing Robin speak and his passion for the guitars and making wonderful instruments. Very cool, maybe one of these days I'll be able to have one of these.
Oh learning new stuf again.
My first guitare bought 30+ years ago is a La Patrie (made by Robin's uncle). Cool that Robin and his cousin had continue the tradition here in Québec under Boucher names.
Can't wait to try one out !
Your playing is sounding so good. A musical complement to such fine instruments.
Semper Fi
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany. Much fun to Watch this.
Robin seems like a really great guy
I won't be happy until I have one. What a great organisation. The instruments have such personality... beutiful
Their guitars are just beautiful.
Well done, coincidentally I bought the same SG-51-MV that you are playing from Brickhouse Guitars
So pleased with this interview! You were just great and very lucky to visit this Luthiers Heaven!!!
My favorite is the 163 maple jumbo, which I didn;t see it....did yoy tried it???❤❤❤
Got to play the JP Cormier signature model during my visit at Boucher Guitars. A truly fantastic instrument with outstanding tone. I had the same reaction you hadwhile touring the shop with Robin …. kids in a candy store. Robin is the best….
While you were playing the JP Cormier Signature, you did an Am to Em that for a second or two sounded like the chorus of his song Molly May. Neat coincidence
A little iron & wine on the HG-44m, love boucher, wish to own one someday
Hey Jeremy,I loved this video.Gotta love Quebec eh.Did you go to Tim 'orton? The people are so nice and you get respect for attempting to speak French.Enjoyed the guitars...
Robin has a doppelganger, the actor Karl Malden...
My dream is to be on a guitar factory like that and that they let me choose one to take home with me for free🤩
KEEP DREAMING!
I do love a good spruce mahogany acoustic, rosewood looks so pretty, I’d like to see some mahogany with brown sugar, or dark chocolate stains,
Is that JP Cormier's PS-SG-162? That's a beautiful guitar. All Boucher's guitars are beautiful, but you know what I mean.
Saw Robin and the other guy on J.P.'s podcast not too long ago. Yours was more educational and in depth...so good, Jeremy. Were you a bit nervous watching those guys since they're very good players, at least I know Robin is? By the way, what a really nice guy Robin is?
He is a lighthouse. So much joy and the kind of person you see yourself anew in. I'm dreaming up a custom Boucher now.
While they do sound a bit better, I feel the Boucher guitar sounds a lot like a Martin.
I think that is a good thing.
no way, Martin are great I have one, but they have the open ness and volume of a Martin but much more high and resonant trebles like Taylor, its a very modern dynamic tone.
The bubinga model looked more like a Bluegrass Goose 🤔
🖐😎👍🎶🎶
The bass in the maple guitars is bigger than I expected. Very precise, but loud. Meanwhile, how did you leave without that Signature 12-fret?
Yea, thats my dream guitar, Jeremy seemed tired at that point lol
It was 11:30pm when we filmed all the playing. I was exhausted but I adore the guitars and really enjoy JP's sig.
@@JeremySheppard GREAT REVIEW! thanks for your efforts. I am looking at the JP signature tomorrow !
Because he bought a Martin D-18 Authentic. 😂
Don: totally different kind of guitar. Totally.
