- It's been a while, and I'm still editing fursuit tutorials, so here's a quick speedpaint of the newest base for my #FreeRefFriday series!
After all the new love that Kashika has been getting, I decided that it would be nice to see more Jaquins out there! So I chose to make a base for them, and share a little bit about why I love this species, and Elana of Avalor so much.

I love the Jaquin's too, I haven't really seen the show all that much but I do love these characters and I definitely want to include them in some of my own fictional worlds because they're just so beautiful and amazing and I'm pretty sure when I show my girlfriend about them who knows if she ever decides to get into the furry fandom she might even want to make one these a fursuit.

Omg all of the traits of my sona match the Jaquin's so well! I'm definitely going to check out this show now, and maybe add some paw feathers and make him a real Jaquin ☺

When i first joined the fandom, my first sona was a jaquin, I remember googling "Anthro jaquin art" to try find other people with it, As i progressed through the fandom my sona changed.
Brings a tear to my eye to see someone like you make a base for this species and make it more known, Thank youu!

I used to watch that show when I was little, and I used to love it!
It was before things like Disney+, and I couldn't see all the episodes but I just loved it so much! I would watch it before going to school. I never heard anyone talking about it, it is just so underrated!
I just have memories of an episode where Elena(I think you spell it)'s family had people from another place come over, and they used chopsticks, then one of the people tried to learn how to use them, that's all I can remember. I almost forgot about that show, I'll probably go watch it on Disney+ when I have the time!
It had so many great episodes like that
I'm working on a Jaquin oc with this base at the moment. I think a jaquin will end up being my sona, it represents me perfectly. Thank you!

Also uhh i have a character species i made its open there called Feathered Bax dragons the vid i made on info is old so i put rules down below if you wanna make one if not completely fine since i am making a animation of my one Echo at this point im writing this
Must have feathers anywhere on body
Need neck fur
No reproductive organs so they reproduce using echo location
Need feather at end of tail
Fox ears and fluffy tail
Bat wings
Horns are opinional
And have fun!!
Ps wild types need natural colours and must be on 4 legs if human type digigrade

I'm so happy you made this base! I've been dreaming for it. I had watched "Sofia the First" as a kid, and it's connected, but you wouldn't need to watch it. But I loved it as a kid, so who's to say its still good.

When you said you made your own Jaquin Kashika, I was like "who's Kashika?" Then, in the outro where there is another video to watch there was Kashika and then I was like "ooooh that's Kashika I remember her" LoL
I know this vid is pretty old but I came across your Ref today and seeing the Jaquin again after many years, I am now changing my sona to a jaquin!! 😍😍 I’m gonna make a base and one day get a fursuit of this beautiful species. I remember loving the jaquin when it first came out and finding it again makes my heart so happy
What do you think about paper furries or have you ever even heard of them?
(It's not like I'm making a furrie head out of paper because I don't have foam and fur)

I've only seen bits and pieces of the show, but I like a lot of it.
The best thing ever are the snow leopards with wings (forgot the name for them) and Jaquins!
Love how luna's colors are the lesbian pride flag and one of the royal guards has the asexual prideflag color scheme

I had a question about your species the dramalocera ( I cant spell it right lol ) I wad making my own using your base, but I was wondering If the body color could be any and/or multiple colors?And if all the butterfly wing/fins have to be all be the same color. If I post the base online, I would be sure to credit you, and I followed all the rules of the base and species, That I could find. If you could answer these, it would help out so much! Thank u! :3
The body can be any colors, as can the butterfly bits.
The only restriction is that the forehead gems must match the butterfly colors.

I know this isn't completely related to the video, but when I was around 5-7 I would make little creatures that looked exactly like those things but it would normally have a lion mane but other than that everything else was the same, the wings, the tail. When I saw that a new show came out and had those things I was so mad, I felt like they were stalking me taking my drawings lmao.

jaquins kind of confuse me, because i made my winged cat fursona before they were a thing, and now i dont know if people will be confused too if i don't change my sona to be either more or less like a jaquin.
I've seen plenty of winged cats, so I think you'd be fine:)

Are you ok if I edit the line art base just a little bit to fit the character that I want to make? For example, make the chest a bit more floofy and add/erase some feathers in the wings and arms? I just curious if you are ok with this, and I if your not, I will respect it and I won't do so.

I visit your website for bases regularly to draw characters and frankly, I love them. In my most recent visit, I hadn't seen this video and I saw JAQUINS. I used to watch Eleana of Avalor (I think that's how you spell it) ALL THE TIME and I'm ashamed that I had to Google it to remember what these were, they were my FAVORITE aspect of the show! Thank you so much for helping me remember this!

oh and I have a question anyone can answer so if I were to get a custom fursuit from Nefertiti should I get my main? My mains name is lethal the only reason I’m considering getting a different oc done is because she just seems a little hmmmmm simple? Cuz she doesn’t have wings or horns and her tails are fox tails but if I were to get a tail I feel like I’d want a gaint fluffy like really movable tail. The other one I would be melony witch is a character I made with one of Nefertiti’s bases and I’d love to get it into a fursuit but I’d also love to get lethal because she’s my main idk what would you do? It’s not a problem rn because I know I’m never gunna get one anytime soon but yeah :>
{Sorry for my late response lol} Hey, it is your choice of which fursuit you want to be made/feel the closest to. I chose that Raider is gonna be my first fursuit (I also want one from Neff XD) to be made, as I spent the most time on her writing backstories etc.
Nonetheless, the choice is yours
