i learned of someone who made the japanese style, multi layered eyes that he just pops out of his suit. he 3D printed brackets that are sewn inside the head

Hot tip for more delicate pieces: Invest in mesh washing bags! It'll keep long fur from snagging anywhere and ripping, it'll protect your seams, and overall, it's just a good thing to have, even outside of fursuiting.

Yes it is so very important to keep them clean! Helps with the longevity of the suit but dirty suits are very gross lol. I do pretty much the same process as you as my handpaws and bodysuits are machine washable. I make my tails machine washable too as I have a hidden zipper so you can take the stuffing out and wash.
...Okay, I need to ensure that my eventual corset that holds extra arms can have the arms removed - and have the "skin" removed from the arms - so that everything can be washed. I was going to have the arms permanently attached to the corset for strength, but I forgot about the hygiene angle. Thanks for this information, I'll be sure to include "How To Clean And Care For This Costume" in my calculations as I make my stuff. (That's an easy thing to forget in all the hype of "How To Make This Costume Look AWESOME".)

I only have a partial and haven't properly washed my pieces yet (i plan to closer to con time, though), but I use a detangling brush instead of a slicker brush to brush out the fur on my pieces. It seems to give a similar result with less loss of fur. :3
I always use my bathtub, and every time I wash my fursuit in the tub, my arms hurt! But when you do it in the tub most of the time, it's not that bad. I also have a Honeywell fan that I got for free, it's amazing.

I've been SO scared to put my suit in the washing machine as mine also has the agitator (however you spell it) in the middle, I've heard mixed things about whether or not if it'd be a safe process! But after seeing this video, I think I have the confidence to wash my suit in the washing machine versus the tub! I've always used my little green machine!
@Neffertity The stitching has been really good and I've had the suit since 2017 or 2018 without any issues! I've always used the little green machine to wash it, but now I'm gonna try the washer!
1:35 what about people with front-loading washers ? its not possible to put the detergent first on these, as they have a drawer to put it in unless you use a pod.
When you were removing the wings and stuff from keaanu I noticed behind you the blue mermaid fins I have the exact same things, same color, except mine are in much worse condition (meaning I shouldn’t still have them they’re like 5 years old)

how would you clean a 3D printed base, i have a base that dose not have lining in the inside only a balaclava(not removable)but it is also a kemono meaning i can't put it in a bath because all the water would get stuck in the plastic rims and i don't have enough money right now for the machine you used😅

Have you ever run into any issues with the agitator in the washer? I see a lot of makers say to avoid them but I've only ever owned that kind of washer. Seems like yours has no issues but curious as to why so many say to avoid it like the plague!
On some of the newfangled machines it can be an issue. I think it grabs the fur to easily and leads to damage. That's why most people don't like using it. It also comes down to the quality of the stitching.

If anything, being banned from tiktok allows me to promote UA-cam more, which is (for the most part) a better platform.

As long as the stitching is solid, I've never had any issues.
But turning the suit inside out can help mitigate any issues.

The drawer loading spot should work fine.
You just wanna avoid dumping the detergent directly on the suit.

There aren't any foam parts in my hand paws.
And the foam feet are fully dried before I store them, along with everything else.

Unfortunately that's going to be very difficult to wash.
You'll likely have to hand wash the whole thing in a bathtub.

Is it fine to use the Green Machine for cleaning hand-paws too? If so, it would mean I wouldn't need to use a washing machine for a partial.
Yes, it's just hard to get the brush into the fingers, so you'd have to submerge the paws in water
Thanks for the help but how do people just put there feet paws on and they don't fall off?
Usually they are either zipped on, or the leg goes over the foot cuff and holds it in place.

Thank you for this! Just wondering, how do you make your wings removable? How do they attach to the bodysuit? I’ve made a foam base for wings similar to your wing tutorial, but I’m not sure how to smoothly transition the wings into the bodysuit
