I Just had a new hvac system installed recently and had the aprilAir 2210 installed with a merv 216 filter. The merv 216 should filter better than the 213. Is there going to be to much air restriction using the 216.
Hi Brad - Thank you for contacting Aprilaire! Yes, the 216 filter will have more air restriction than the 213, but for the exact quantity, you will need to know how much Static Pressure at CFM (measurement of airflow volume) your installation can tolerate. Your installer will have this information if you are unsure. If there's anything else that we can assist you with, please let us know.

Can I installl any of these air cleaners in the entrance portion of the air which is in the living room? I have HVAC + Aprilaire E100 Dehumidifer and a Nest 3rd Gernaration Thermostat and wonder instead of installing these in the basement inside the main system, we just install it on the intake screen or inside it which is located in the living room and all air inside the hosue goes through this return duct? Thanks

do you have any "V" shaped frames to maximize airflow as is common with 1"? I want max flow through 2 16 merv 25x20 and about to make my own channels or frames
Thank you for contacting AprilAire! We do not have any air flow frames for our air cleaners. We recommend speaking with your HVAC contractor about this. Our air cleaners have the lowest air flow resistance on the market compared to equal MERV rated filters, so we have not seen much need for additions to help with the air flow through our filters. How often should I change a 516 filter if I have the fan on continuously?

The frequency of replacement will vary with operation time, the number of particles generated in the home and is affected by: number of people and their activities, the amount of carpeting, pets, size of home, number of smokers, and the pollution level of the area. We recommend replacing the filter twice per year. However, all HVAC installations are different. Your contractor may recommend more or less frequent filter replacement.
