    I love your videos because they tell it as it is, not just give you one scenario where you practice the same drill over and over again.

    If your fighting a much larger, stronger opponent and if your not an expert in grappling (judo, greco roman, etc) why would you want to grapple with such an opponent. They are going to have a huge advantage at that range.

      Also after the block no head butts? They don't require a lot of skill and you can still get the duck under!

      well BJJ does focus on being the "David" in a "david and goliath scenario"

      Not recommended if you don't know what you're doing. You can potentially damage your neck.

      Of course I would think that one would go look up how to do head butts beforehand and not just go 'I once read on the internet...' As for the head butt itself I'm think about a boxing style foul one: no winding up or whiplash move. Also I would recommend bracing one's neck which would lower the risk of hurting one's neck.
      Finally, if it comes down to the choice between hurting one's neck or being murdered. raped, crippled, etc I'll wear a neck brace...
      Still you do have a valid point...

      OsirisX238 Of course, being injured is always a better option then being dead.
      Headbutt can be a good strike, but it's best to use it on "soft" targets like nose, chest and back, because if you miss, you can hit something hard like shoulders or other guys forehead, then you'll have problem.You'll be surprised how often "miss" happens.

    That is good stuff. Facing a bigger you have to punch/kick you out the situation. Unless you are superior better in grappling that he is.

    This works only if you have a biceps like him. If your skinny with skinny biceps then i don't think that'll work lol.

    I was in a fight with a guy last week that was similar to this (me being much smaller).... this was the second time we fought and the 1st time he pushed me off the deck and fractured my humerus less than an in from the shoulder. This time he did the "walk past me" like it was just verbal, then attack with my guard down. I knew from experience that a punch to the mouth did NOT stun him from the previous fight, so I attempted to gain ground by getting close and applying pressure to the back of his neck with both hand and force him to his knees (more my height) BAD IDEA he quickly over powered me and forced me to the ground, where I proceed to attempt to cover my spleen from a month not 2 months earlier. He decided to try and bash my head off the ground.....so... I turned around and bit his finger until it popped. He yelled in sooooo much pain it ended the fight. He took off and odviously round 3 will be soon. Seeing as he is at least 8 inches taller than me and probably 50 pound bigger, he had steel toes on and I had sandals, he has done this in the past and is just all around a goof.... was I wrong to bite? I never did it before, and it was a reaction to my head almost being smashed into the ground. Let me know

      +Jonathan Handel no you did the right thing, hopefully you taught the fat bully a lesson, but i don't know, he sounds pretty stupid. You may have to teach him again. Just try and attack eyes, nose, throat, nuts, (maybe solar plexus / ear slap) just keep aiming for those until something opens up, must repeat with lighting speed. Which should help confuse him.

  • @drbubble33
    @drbubble33 9 років тому +1

    Can you do a video on defending against a much smaller attacker? At 6'7", not many people are taller than me, but most are smaller (and fat).

    • @Jinppa
      @Jinppa 9 років тому +3

      +Stan Olszewski At that height, if you get in a fight, it's your own fault. Stop bullying manlets.

    • @aurelianspodarec2629
      @aurelianspodarec2629 8 років тому

      +Stan Olszewski Use your kicks, fornt kick and roundhosue kick. Form a fist and then throw your arms randomly very aggressive and fast. People won't really be able to know whats hapening and they will take your blows that will bring them to the ground.

    • @whydotheathensrage

      +Jinppa Not necessarily, i knew some crazy irish fighters who go out of their way to pick the big guy.

    sorry but i feel like you were too vulnerable for him to destroy your ribs or just pound you with punches with his other hand thats just dangling by his side . i feel like instead of a bicep thrust or whatever that was , probably a leg sweep to knock him off his balance or a leg attack would be more beneficial .

    • @kingslavd661
      @kingslavd661 9 років тому

      Khalil Fahie So according to you, when using the sweep, you are not in the danger of the same punches that you've given in an example? Lol.

    • @ucancallmekjorkg1939
      @ucancallmekjorkg1939 9 років тому

      you're obviously going to be in danger as long as he's conscious . thats obvious enough . I'm just calling it how I see it . making the first move towards the ground a pound game is way more of an advantage when fighting a bigger opponent .

    • @kingslavd661
      @kingslavd661 9 років тому

      Sorry man but you are absolutely wrong about ground and pound. The big guy has a lot more strength and size to buck you off of him, reverse you and then you will be ground and pounded. For that reason alone, you are safer to stand. Another thing is, when you are off balance and leaning backwards like Nick presented, there is no way that you can sweep someone without your spine being properly aligned first. If you use what Nick shows, push his head back and make his spine curve, then you would be able to sweep him. The problem with sweeps is that it takes too much time to learn and it relies on timing. Nick's stuff is way simpler. Trust his videos, he's done proper research and tested it.

    Why didn't this position / block / circumstance occur during the sparing that occurred with Moose?
    Why are you unconcerned with your opponents 'other' hand... which happens to be about 6 inches from your groin in this 'hold' / trap? Equally ready to stick it to your liver....
    The 'bicep pop' doesn't have room to accelerate, no real striking surface, and you aren't going to be 'out powering' the dudes core... also jamming your biceps into what has equal chances to be your opponents mouth will end up very bad for you.
