That’s what we used to refer to as a target rich environment!😂 Please tell me the back divers went down with 5 or 6 ph each and wrecked those carbos’ day! Another great video!
Dan that was a big Grouper. Powerhead to the rescue 🤔🤣. Always great videos brother. Y'all been diving that west coast a while and mark a lot of spots, awesome.
Hello Dan, I love your speargun that’s why I decided to build my mine as similar to yours as possible, the only thing I haven't found yet, is the spike. Can you give me some idea how to do it or where to buy it? Thanks 🙏
Love the content as always. I dive out of Weeki wachee and struggle with reading sonar couple you consider doing a video on what your looking for. You should consider selling gps numbers. I’d be the first one ready to buy
Man that put me on the edge of my seat with ALL those lions. I love your gun. I saw a while back you were thinking about producing some. Any progress on that? I'd be interested in picking one up. Thanks man love the vids and I aspire one day to be half as good as you!
I know this gets a lot attention and comments on every video but I got interested in these type of videos a couple of years ago and have now gotten back.into watching. The numbers of Lion. fish two years ago at least watching videos like I did were varied from a few to numbers that started divers trying to reduce the population. After a few days watching 5 - 10 spearfishing videos each day it's obvious their numbers have grown exponentially Time was their numbers might could be controlled but I don't believe so now.
Curious about the boat. Looks like a Parker style. Crew can escape the elements in the forward cabin. Going out to 100 plus feet of depth in the Gulf, that's a 2 hour plus trip or middle grounds up to 3 hours. How does the boat handle changes in sea condition? What would be the perfect boat for your kind of trips?
His boat started life as a 44 foot Tempest before he modified almost everything . It now sports 3 big holding tanks for about 1500 pounds each of iced fish . They normally make trips of 3-5 days to keep fuel costs down before they come back in again .
The US Navy dive tables call for these deco stops: 200ft for 10 minutes on air: 3min@30ft 8min@20ft. Did you take any deco, or did I miss it? Gauge readings are to small to be sure what I'm seeing.
Most of the deco time is edited out so you do not lose interest following the video until the end . EVERY SINGLE DIVE below 50 feet or so needs some deco time to be safe .
They cut out most of the going back up time unless something is there to see . That keeps the interest of the viewers more , and shortens the video length . Several stops on the way back up are required for decompression time , and the deeper the dives require more stops and longer time for decompression .
Most people would never try to go after the Lionfish on any of the deeper dives , except as a last shot on the way up . They take special handling , and divers are there to get Groupers 1st and then whatever else they find time for in the 2 - 4 minutes they have on the actual bottom . Any longer on the bottom of a dive over 200 feet or more down requires much much more stops and longer time to decompress on the way back up . They have a Video posted for Lionfish they made , and it is worth watching .
Those are not flares they are Powerheads , and they release an explosive charge to take out a larger fish easier than just using the spear from the gun .
I'm from San Diego and are ocean is dying from chemicals introduced via treated sewer water. I'm impressed with the amount of fish you have there. Please record post dive with weights, species and recap of dive.
Too much extra work as these fellas each make several dives a day , and they are normally out for 3-5 days before coming back in . They are working under a Commercial dive License so most species are regulated by total weight for the trip or for the season not by how many fish they get on a single dive .
I have to admit I got super excited for you when I saw all those fish as you were descending that's the most big car Bros I've seen together

Breathing control is great even in stressfull situations... that is something that is hard to achieve, well done Dan !
I had the privilege of diving off of that boat last week Dan with Zack. I had a great time. 👍👍
Nice man, what a blessing, take me with you next time😂
Thanks for sharing y'alls lives with us.
Great video Dan!

Lol little exciting 😄 great job
We wanna see the fish after you return to the boat. !!!!!!
Back then they were not planning to place the video on UA-cam so no boat time . The later videos boat time was added .
That was a nail-biting dive

Yes Dan nice 👍🏿
Awsome spot for sure. Was pla Ning several dives last week and we have been blown off the water for about a month now here In Texas. Killing me.

Nice groupers. Tell me, are those yellowtail snapper or rainbow runners I saw a while after you passed the big jacks on the way up to the surface?

Hi Dan . Are you still diving or have you retired ? I miss you epic videos
Muito bom 👍👍

Perfekt
Nice video
how deep was this?
Super
Nice
I hope you are OK I’ve not seen any videos in quite a while.
Nice 💖💖💖💖
Lion fish covered everything.
The excitement was a little much for him. I would have totally flubbed the dive trying to hurry.
👍

They're diving Tri-Mix so I don't think they are going into Deco.

AWSOME Vid!! Keep them coming!
Can anyone tell us where to get a gun like that?
He makes his own gun modeled after an old Sea Hornet but with better parts and tighter tolerances . Then he added some extras to make his job easier .
80pounder? what was he?
Mantap...
Why is it quicker to go down than come up? I'm ignorant to diving.
Can tell that’s not Dan
yea his head movement and speargun aiming is too fast a jiterry he is scaring the fish
How do you guys equalize that fast?
he good

Dude! Let me come clean up your lionfish! I'm a commercial lionfish guy in Destin

Wawww
Nice video but as a viewer we know it’s not Dan indecision indecision indecision Dan would be like load commit fire load commit fire load commit fire!
🍷🍷IT'S SO GOOD TO BE DOWN WITH YOU.....🙏🙏
How are you?
What is that mean that number you look while you go up😃✌🏼
He checks lower left corner to see what depth he is at right now so he knows when to stop for a decompression time .
hose fish are very strong. One shot is usually not successful. Why don't you use flares? Is it very expensive !
Those are not flares they are Powerheads , and they release an explosive charge to take out a larger fish easier than just using the spear from the gun .
That was stressful to watch. No offense but I prefer watching Dan the man. Still awesome vid
