Agree with you all, I’m not really interested in watching UA-camr’s as I find the vast majority irritating to watch and most don’t seem to know what they are talking about, but I’ve been watching Jamie’s videos ever since he uploaded the video he did of my uncles Bond Bug, and I watch him for the exact same reasons, down to earth, easy going, easy to watch, and a genuine petrol head who has a real interest in every car he features 👍🏼
@@watts6087 I would say it’s quite a special trait to have in this day and age, the majority of people haven’t quite grasped the concept of having some humility. Many folk I know and bump into seem to have their egos inflated by materialism or a seemingly intertwined state of feeling above everyone else. Big love and respect to all but those especially who are like Jamie, it restores my faith in humanity slightly, at least to see it’s not going down the pan anytime soon😉🙏🏻

Jamie, isn’t all that increased power that the forged engine will be running once the new turbo is on etc be completely pointless when the FWD car will just be spinning it’s wheels in most gears?
This guy has been smashing it at Dmaxx and still gives us 2 videos in just about as many days.
Always impressed with Ben's level of knowledge and experience, not many can explain in-depth like this.

Interesting explanation from Ben, my 2.5tfsi also let go the same way, rings jammed the ringland and broke a chunk off the piston. Was only running at 1.8bar with water meth injection for cooling too. I guess like he says, down to luck! Excited to see what the new setup behaves like!

From what you describe about the way you were driving at the time I'd say that's lspi failure. Low speed pre ignition.
This have anything to do the day it was blasting out all that smoke when you was going full send. This why I like this channel OG not scared to brake stuff lol

Had the same issue on an Audi S3... £2800 later got a second hand engine supplied and fitted with a lot less miles than original.

I sold my stage 3 7.5r because I don’t think they can actually handle it like most tuners will have you belive. I think stage 2 make on the ea888 to keep it safe

Been waiting since i last seen the car come off the rollers and leave two huge 11’s driving out the lot to see what it drove like with 500 hp, now I know it didn’t go well. Any car with a decent amount of power needs looked after. Shame it’d had a hard life before you obviously but onwards and upwards and now you know it’s strong. So watching for the next cupra video with interest. Hopefully soon 🤙

As soon as ben said as the ring expanded on the piston due to more pressure I already had it in my head perks of working in quality and designing parts myself.

I needed a brand new block too and have ended up getting a high boost kit from Bartek Tuning in Germany I believe. Think my internals are good for close to 1000 bhp (according to the website) so figure my 500 should be safe
Running a racingline stage 3 with hybrid is38 turbo & now every supporting mod available I think!
Intercooler, fuel pump, catch can, oil cooler, intake, exhaust, sport cat the lot!!
