Finally! A 24 hour dial that actually has a function! Great work Chris. If I NEVER see another VK 64 it will be too soon. A VK 67 is just as cheap. You did good Chris!
My experience with NKUWAN was fantastic. The watch arrived quickly and was exactly as described.
Great project: I would switch Caterix on the back with Regulator on the front dial (I asked for it in the survey launchzd by MD)
Impressive offering, and seems like a great value for the current Kickstarter price. MD web site indicates the hands are actually heat blued, BTW.

Chris, great video this week. The watch definitely looks to be of better quality than the price suggest. If the watch price would have been around the $800-$900 price range I would not have blinked an eye. Chris by the way Caturix is not Latin but Gaulish (Old Celtic) and it means "Battle-King".

Looks like they took the design from Jaquet Droz, or maybe the Louis Erard Massena watch. Really nice job and even nicer price.

There's actually no module because the Miyota 82S7 already has a small seconds dial and a 24 hour dial. The movement is also tilted to make the 24hour at 8 o clock and the small seconds at 4 o clock, when they'd normally be at 9 o clock and 5 o clock. (that's why the crown is also at an angle)

For those who cant afford an FP Journe, this watch is the best budget friendly option!
So the problem with this watch having an ordinary name is that it's so interesting looking that people are going to ask what it is. So even if it's not on the dial, you're going to have to tell people all the time

I liked it so much that I ordered two. They have another colorway that is super funky and I wanted that too. If this watch said seiko on the dial, it would be $3000, and the dial would be misaligned.

Hey is this miyota movement reliable how long can it run without the need of servicing ?
This is very impressive considering the price point. If production pieces remain the same, they are in for a hit. Proof that you can get a lot from microbrands without sacrificing individuality.
Great looking watch at what seems to be a great price. Does it come in other color combinations? I would have thought this watch would have cost several thousand dollars (between 2500 to 5000). I recently bought a Longines Triple Calendar (2hite dial) on the bracelet but, I may have to pick up one of these MD Regulators...
Having hit all of the stretch goals, it will now also come in a gorgeous deep red model, and a blue model now.

I suspected the second hand on the outer row. Not as a small second. The 2 mini dails looks like hours en minutes
The traditional regulator design focuses on minutes and hence that layout.
Great looking watch from the front. Inexpensive movement. I wouldn't buy one but I'm fairly sure it'll sell well.

I like the watch, but I think the crown seems too prominent actually. Not the diameter as much as the depth.
My guess was that it would be close to $1,100. That doesn't mean that that's evaluation I would give to the watch but it was what I thought the price would be. I'm not sure what the Latin word choice is and the reasoning for the placement, and I think perhaps it may need a little bit more color. I think if someone is looking for a funky module to add for low cost this would fit the bill.
Also I would want to say that the Nomos Ahoi is an amazing, classy and capable watch that could function as a GADA (maybe not in the specific color) without any issue.
I am not sure this movement has any module on top. The base movement is two hands plus a 24-hour sundial and sub seconds. I think they just didn't put the hour hand on.
A micro brand that looks as rich as it does I’d have to guess it would be selling for $850

as for the price I used to refer 1st to a movement , overall finishing, complications and a dial...but when I see Myiota cal.820x its not an expensive one and should be below 300$≥ I believe so

Hello and thanks for this review. As a microbrands fan, it's always a pleasure for me to discover a new one. Perhaps not so new by the way as this brand already has 3 different models on sales. The regulator that you present being their 4th creation. The founder is Irish, and one of the watchs refer to Celtic traditions. But, at this price range, there is no doubt that Martin Design's watches are not manufactured, nor assembled in Ireland.
Until I can afford an FP Journe this will do just fine lol. These are now $418 though.

I think regulator watches are really dumb. Hard to read at a glance, made even worse by the 24h hand instead of it pointing the way you'd expect for a given 12h time value.
... but the second I know they exist, I really want one. Or two. Actually I already have one in my hand, it was 25 bucks off the usual suspects, custom automatic Chinese movement, but it is phat at 14.5mm thick. There are also mass-produced regulator movements out there, so making one isn't expensive. but I DO love the design on this thing. Very impressive, and a good size.
Very nice. I know this is controversial but I def prefer a solid but nicely engraved caseback when the movement is not well decorated. Solid backs are thinner and on dress watches the thinner the better.

What I see: A whole lot of wasted dial space. Not sure the regulator concept is all that sensible, (for me, anyway). An example of design overtaking function...(and I'm decidedly a function guy).

Good God! That's one cheap looking watch. If the design and finishing look bad on my mobile phone, it must be an absolute horror-show in real life.
It's difficult to make watches with this type of layout look good, even Patek's regulator doesn't look so hot.
It's not difficult to adapt a normal calibre to facilitate the hand layout.
The plaque delivers the 'coup-de-gras' to any pretentions of style. If they must keep it then it should read 'Caveat Emptor'.
I don't even want to get into the subject of the strap....
Price? It should be about half of what they're asking.
