Loving the new intro for this series 🎉
Why thank you 🤩
It is an impressive port, plus you can see from the character portraits, as well as some of those animations for the normals and specials that it's based on Super Street Fighter 2. That "load"/decompression happens on the SNES version of Street Fighter Alpha 2 as well, but somebody managed to figure out how to fix that one, so there are enhanced homebrew versions kicking around without the delays, and with better audio that are available to emulate.
Ah that’s cool that there’s a community hack that fixes that loading. That does ring a bell from the SNES SFA2.
I always liked the Game Boy game but it gets a lot more hate than it should
The load pauses in the SNES version of SFA2 is due to the need to stop the system to load new sound samples from cartridge into the audio RAM of the Sony sound chip, which is a system on a chip. The decompression of data on the SFA2 cartridge is handled by a dedicated chip on the cartridge and is done in real time; there is ZERO load time to fetch and decompress any data from the SFA2 cartridge.
@@Tempora158 ah that’s really fascinating. Didn’t know this. It was amazing that Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the SNES and it’s actually really good on there
I learned how to do combos from playing this game in the 90's, so this takes a special place in my heart. I can't remember them now, but Chun Li's bird kick was my favourite special move.
That’s great. I always have remembered how to do Ryu and Ken’s moves so in any new game play as those guys as the controls have remained the same ever since
Asi que la comodore 64 tuvo su versión, que loco, ahi me suscribo, exitos! PD: El sega megadrive si que puso a pesar de su paleta de colores meter todo en el super street fighter ua-cam.com/users/shorts_hz24kVTzKI
Thanks! New part of the series coming up this weekend
They made a solid effort on this one... Sounds good too
Yeah so many people overlook it, but it’s a great version
Disagree on this being a good port. It's a choppy mess compared to other Gameboy fighting games. Takara did a much, much better job with their various SNK fighting game ports. Not only did they run well, but they also played well and typically had all the characters present.
That’s cool, I know many people don’t think it’s that good. Compared to some of the versions I’ve played recently on the C64 and ZX Spectrum for other videos in this series the Game Boy one is a masterpiece 🤣
@@GeekBattleGaming I can understand that, lol!
@@lyteedge I will get to some of the other Game Boy fighting games soon. Will check out the SNK ports
