2. I agree only for the case with docked mode, I don't mind the resolution in handheld mode since the screen is smaller. I'd also prefer a 1080p console with a higher consistent framerate if they can maintain it like you discussed for #3. (I also wouldn't use Pokemon as an example since Gamefreak is always on a crunch). 4. I'd love a pack-in game that comes with the console, something like a new Nintendo Land game that many people can hop into and introduces their IPs. 3B. Joycon drift being gone is a huge ask from them, it's not likely we'll see them move away from graphite-based sensors. Companies out in Japan still don't see the value in hall-sensor joysticks. A compromise I would see working is an easier way to access the joystick compartment as well as replacement sticks being sold directly by them on their website. Some other stuff I'd like to see: Modular cover plate system for the dock to decorate it without stickers (New 3DS style), reverse-compatibility with old switch joycon rail size, music on the UI so it doesn't feel barren, better eShop navigation tabs AND stability when you've been scrolling for 5+ minutes, and more amiibo functionality like custom home themes or new titles that read/write on them.
Can you imagine a new Splatoon game on Switch 2.. And the hub city lobby runs at a full and smooth 60 frames per second.. Thats literally all I want (,:
I really can't wait for the Switch 2! Hopefully, they'll at least announce it this year. 😊 When it comes to what I want from it, my main hope is for backward compatibility with Switch games, just like you said. There's such an extensive library of games that I don’t want to miss out on. If we’re talking specs, if it's a true successor and a handheld device, then I’d love to see a 7.5" to 8" OLED or at least a quality IPS display. Obviously, better hardware would be great, but I’m not expecting top-tier console specs like when the GameCube was competing with the PS2. Still, I agree that 60fps should be the minimum in games. So, that’s it for me. I can’t wait!
I'm mostly hoping I can still play it handheld and it's backwards compatible with all the games. Then I know most people DON'T want this, but I hope there are achievements added like the ones they have in Steam, PS5 and Xbox.
The only thing I want from Switch 2 is a Star Fox game, don't care if it's a new game or a remaster of something like Assault. Other things I'd like to see as well, A new 3d Zelda, 3d Mario, and Smash. Oh, and I hope the next Mainline Pokemon game is not a buggy mess on launch.
God, they seriously need to bring back the Mother series, whether it be remakes or the port EVERYBODY wants (but of course, everyone would absolutely love a remake entirely of Mother 3, but still, I wouldn't complain as long as we just get Mother 3 in the US) and on another note, Sega genuinely has been doing what Nintendon't, like what you were saying with Nintendo and their fan interaction, but Sega does soo much with their fans, like, I'm sorry, Sonic Frontier's game director, Morio Kishimoto, responding to fans and their criticisms on the game and what they should do next and him AGREEING and actually putting those fan's suggestions to the test with what we got in the Final Horizon update. Nintendo just seriously needs to get their priorities straight in certain areas if I'm being honest. I wanna play more Nintendo games, I wanna enjoy more of their content, but there's soo much they can do to improve, and I hardly see myself on my Switch anymore for that particular reason. It's not that the games are bad (we'll, at least a good portion released from Nintendo themselves aren't, like Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Luigi's Mansion 3, but Scarlet/Violet; thats a completely different discussion in itself lol) but I just find myself getting bored and stop playing those games after a good while.
Probably they will release a new smash, get some remakes done again, stop support for the switch... because the Switch.... hell... its like... 6 - 7 years old by this point....
don't give them ideas about making rules, remember what happened with smash tournaments? and they hate things like fanworks much more than smash tourneys

Just don't make a Mother 4, though. An announcement of that would be a total shitshow.

Just give me a new starfox and the system is an instant 10/10
