ma'am wanted to know about quacks in derma cosmotolgy and how is it affecting careers in derma getting many negative reviews about the quacks in the branch
For someone who is confused between internal medicine and Dermatology, How to go about making a decision? Please can you list out pros and cons of both?
Pros of dermatology: - great work life balance - branch is a good amalgamation of diagnostic, clinical and surgical skills - liberty to settle early as there's no need for superspeciality - branch in itself has very few deaths - professionally satisfying as results are physically visible for patients to see - good earning potential that starts earlier in life - very up and coming branch, so lots of new things to learn everyday - very less dependency on other branches except pathology (even that minimizes if you're good at histopathology) - easier to have own setup Cons of dermatology: - may not give you the adrenaline rush of internal medicine, as very few life and death cases - machines and setup may be costly depending on what equipment you want to have (but setup costs are high in almost all branches if you want to have a well rounded practice) Pros of medicine: - adrenaline rush - life saving branch - learning more systems from the beginning of your course and gives a chance to decide what your interest lies in and pursue that later (but this is exactly what makes it time consuming) Cons of internal medicine: - refer to pros of dermatology
