"I can feel it, too, so what am I waiting for? I'm afraid of you. It's just I'm not that good of a person but I might be enough for you." I, as someone with anxiety when it comes to relationships, feel that so much.
Fun fact: The girl he made this song about cheated on him with a black guy and he only found out on when she literally had a baby and he realized in the hospital bed that it wasn't his Which is hilarious
"I wish that everyone I knew was dead." The first line was how I discovered this band because it's what I was feeling at the time I was dealing with a heavy school and work load. And shockingly, those lines that followed, _"So I would never have to pick up the phone"_ described my exact reason for wishing so. It was uncanny how those lyrics expressed what was written on my mind.
I just found this band. I have listened to this song no less than 20 times in the past 24 hours. I can't stop. As a musician and a social worker who works with mental health and addiction-As a human being-I am just so moved. I have now listened to five songs by Highly Suspect and I absolutely love them all.
Me too I must have been living under a rock oh wait I was strung out on heroin I'm the streets that's why thanks Larry for this one I think you might have saved my life with music once again I'm now three weeks clean btw if anyone cares
I can't explain what they got, but I know they have it, somewhere between blues, grunge, and stoner metal. reminds me of tool, pearl jam, and so many others
I'm an old rocker who's glad to hear this new music containing some passion and feeling. Really reaches into the heart and soul of what it's like to be an outcast in our society, as I've been my entire life. Edit. Wow,i was just commenting from the heart and it just blew up. Thanks to everyone that liked my comment and replied. Even if wasn't a positive reply, i thank you again. Keep rocking Johnny. Keep putting out heart felt music and the world will continue to listen
oh, yay! i found the depression circle-jerk. let's see who really, really, really gets depression... mainstream rock really gets depression hmmm that _is_ suspect
I get mad goosebumps at 5:47 where he sings the line 'I can feel it too' with the most euphoric look on his face, then at 5:53 when he sings the line 'I'm afraid of you,' that look disappears and it transforms into a sad, strangely confused expression that feels eerily familiar to me. Every single intricacy of his face is perfect at showing the blend of emotions that he feels. Johnny is fucking incredible in this video. MCID.
These guys deserve success. Their music has gotten me through one of the hardest times in my life. Not only are they some of the most talented people out there, but they are also very down to earth. They truly care about their fans, and care about music. I met them at one of their shows in Alabama. I had posted a cover of their song bath salts on Instagram a while back and they remembered me and took the time to talk to me about music and told me to never give up. I was so close, but these guys cared enough to make sure I didn't. They truly deserve the best, I've been listening to them for forever now. Its such a good feeling to see how far they have come. Thank you Highly Suspect for everything, your music, your insanely good looks, and your kindness. Nothing can hold them back, and I'm so glad I was blessed with the chance to meet these amazing guys. It takes a lot to stay down to earth, and to sincerely care about the people supporting them and this band does a great job at both. #mcid for life
+Kaylee Grace Kaylee, same here! Some rough times in my life too and instantly knew when I heard their sound it was what I needed. I had been searching for over 3 years for something to pick me up. They may never know what they've done for me, but it has been very profound. I put in J-Suspect Preface many mornings really reminds me of my past and everyday some more HS and cannot get burnt out on it for some reason. The entire crew of theirs deserves thanks for the many many years to come. MCID for life for real

When I was at my darkest hour, I did mushrooms and listened to this song on repeat with headphones maxed out and a subwoofer underneath my chair, and a sub-pac which is like a bass backpack that injects bass directly in to your spinal cord. The line "I think I want to be alive" performed CPR on my soul, and I was reborn that night. Thank you Johnny for sharing your journey of battling your demons to help us recognize our own.

Bad*ss! I can't believe the last comments on this video are from 5 years ago. Is there anybody out there? Johnny . . . holy heck, man . . . you are the only singer alive who compares to the great Layne Staley. You sing, like Layne did, from the depths of your soul. Very few singers have this ability to make someone feel so many complex emotions. I am moved beyond words listening to this over and over . . . all of the nuances behind the words. This song speaks to me. This is how rock music should sound. I don't remember the last time I bought a physical album, but Highly Suspect forced my hand, and I own them all.
Everytime I hear the first bend at 3:06 i have to stop myself from air guitaring the whole fucking section that follows. I love these guys music so much. Definitely speaks so much.
Saw Highly Suspect in Manchester last night, however much you dig the releases, they do not compare to the brilliance of the live gig. I cannot understand why they aren't huge.
Tommy Messina Second one is recently out, some awesome tunes like My Name Is Human and Seratonia. I agree with you, I just feel they'll make it, great band, great songs and a genuine star frontman, it's all there.
Anton Haq I saw them on Sunday at a festival and was completely overwhelmed did not realize how great this band was live. They had all sorts of equipment problems they could of cared less just went with the flow and I came away a big fan.
If you haven't yet got it, you need the Mister Asylum album. It's brilliant, every single track is cool. The Boy Who Died Wolf also has some excellent tracks but it's not quite as consistent. There is an album that predates these releases but to be honest, whatever you think of it, it's not on the same level as the others. I'd go and see them at any given chance, I'm sure eventually they'll be massive.
I listen to music when I paint. I'm actually going to have to take this song off my painting play list because every damn time it comes on I'm rendered helpless, have to stop what I'm doing, and look at him.
Highly Suspect in my honest opinion one of the most underrated bands. I ask just about everyone I run into if they know them they usually say no so I tell them to take a listen. One of my favorite bands and that is standing next to Nirvana and Korn.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how fucking amazing all his subtle facial expressions are? Because, damn. The way he seems all open and straightforward, makes me uncomfortable everytime - in a good way - like I'm seeing something personal I'm not supposed to. It's like his all alone, talking to himself in the mirror or something, when in reality there's probably a fucking crew behind the camera recording everything - well, it's all kind of impressive. (Another thing to appreciate is how the video matches the lyrics and what the song is supposed to be about, while not being glaringly obvious in doing so.)
Narcissa Grey pulling those facial expressions off like that is harder than it looks and he does it perfectly that's the most impressive part of the whole video for me
Narcissa Grey well said! My thoughts exactly, but u said it better. Thats why people keep coming back watching it again and again. Johnny made a bold move n its paid off. I think your comment is spot on #MCID ONE LOVE ✌ 💋
Saw these dudes at a little ass bar 3 years ago for 25$ when they played this I literally felt it at my core. That opening riff and those opening lyrics are so raw. I hope this band doesn't lose that bluesy side to them all together
THIS SONG CHANGED MY LIFE. I watched this video 2 month’s ago for the first time. I just watched it again and cried. Due to childhood trauma, I had a block that I couldn’t shake for so long. I wanted to be a good person so badly, but I kept making stupid mistakes. I would blame myself for everything and get depressed, and I hated myself for it. In short, I was over stimulated with negativity, and the excitement of it subconsciously kept me half in and half out of the light; I wanted to be good but I needed to throw a wrench in the gears here and there. I couldn’t ever fully commit to the light. This song has brought my thoughts to light.. I’ve identified my demons, and learned to live with them. IT FEELS SO GOOD TO EMBRACE THE LIGHT JOHNNY!!! THANK YOU!!!
chill my friend, going thru the trauma shit here, to me there is no justice, no god or whatsoever, cause no one fought for us, and yet it is expected from us. stay strong
that dudes eye contact and facial expressions are extremely mesmerizing. i think what adds to that is that he is the first real rock &r roll legend we've had a a little while
Yes I agree. Definitely Rock and Roll Legend material. He's hypnotic to look at. I literally have to pull myself away if I want to get anything done the rest of the day.
I used to watch these guys play cover songs at the bar I bounced at on Cape Cod many times before they were well-known. Glad they're getting the recognition they deserve
I found this band because of Aftershock, and I've seen them since in small venues. Best show I've ever been to both times. Amazing powerful music, and one helluva vibe live
"These guys need to be bigger" -Everyone who knows nothing about them. (They've been nominated for Grammys 3 times) (Sold tens of thousands of albums) (Placed number 3 in Rocks Top 10 modern bands voted by Top Music Magazines) Don't put these guys anywhere but on the awesome pedistool that they deserve to be on.
Billy Tripp tbh I hope if they break through they keep their sound. If they'll start change into pop I'd have no problem with them never getting into the mainstream.
Millions of albums ? I find it hard.... Anyways, they aren´t in fact big. They aren´t that well known, the fact that you have to tell people what you said proves it. Just compare with Foo Fighters for instance.
Honestly one of the greatest songs I've heard in my 20s. Got me through some shit...moving to NYC, getting chewed up and spit out battling depression but gettin it done. The perfect vibe
I've seen too many posts where people try to make comparisons to Highly Suspect's sound. "Johnny sounds like Cornell or Grohl etc. What makes them so good is that there really isn't a good comparison. These guys found their own sound and it's amazing!! Keep up the good work and get your butts to Biloxi Ms...I'm waiting impatiently for the live show!!
Verse 1] I wish that everyone I knew was dead So that I'd never have to pick up the phone I just wanna be naked And masturbate all day at home [Chorus] California dreamin' Oh my heart just started screamin' I think I want to be alive [Verse 2] I wish I lived on top of the sunset Yeah cause Hollywood you know my type I'll get stoned all night with Lana Half in and half out of the light [Chorus] It's California dreamin' Yeah Oh my heart just started screamin' I think I wanna be alive [Bridge] I can feel it too So what am I waiting for? I'm afraid of you It's just I'm not that good of a person But I might be enough for you I'm gonna move to California I'm gonna melt into the sand Slow dance with Elizabeth Taylor And Audrey Bum a cigarette from Cary Grant Now New York you know I love you Because you made me who I am Which is not that good of a person I need to feel something again [Outro] I can feel it too So what am I waiting for I'm afraid of you It's just I'm not that good of a person But I might be enough for you And I got enough love for two I can feel it too I'm afraid of you It's just I'm not that good of a person But I might be enough for you
Yea man well said. They deff have a late feel to them especially they way Johnny plays guitar an smokes on stage the whole vibe makes u feel like there older than they are. Jus a bad ass band 👍
This song is meaningfull as hell, the instrumental is absolutely dope, the lyrics, the whole band, voice and production ... but everybody is just talking about how hot johnny is. Damn, give music some respect
I should really stop listening to this song on repeat or i'm gonna actually make myself get sick of it and I really don't want that to happen. Goddamn it, the struggle. sigh.
JustSomeInternetBoob09/97 I did the same thing about a month ago and was just hooked. I like this as much a vanity and Lydia. which I did the same thing with both songs. I'm still obsessed with this song. and yes #struggleisrealaf
So excited i just found this band! Sends me vibes back to the early 90s with bands like soundgarden, stone temple pilots, Alice in Chains.... Just found my new addiction! And um yah, he is definitely easy on the peepers 👌
Comments like this give me comfort in knowing that I'm not alone in feeling baffled and borderline disturbed that other people don't seem to hear what we do. It's like we are a small segment of the population that was born with the gift to recognize this song's beauty.
"So that I'd never have to pick up the phone" Couldn't be more relevant to me the past 6 months. I'll never forget the first time I heard you guys. And I'll always come back.
dude johnny Stevens is an amazing artist. this video is so simple with so much meaning. snow New York. relaxed in Cali. he bites his tongue to snap out of meditation and make a choice. this dude is deep
The expressions on his face...this is probably the best acting I have ever seen in a music video...crazy! Not to mention the music is amazing! HOLY MOLLY!
Sometimes a musician finds some chords and patterns on the guitar along with some simply perfect lyrics that are absolutely perfection and I can't help but to tear up at how this song feels. I play this on guitar every time I finger one anywhere and someone always sings the lyrics
I grew up in the 60s/70s and listened to a wide variety of music. Then came punk rock and i fully immersed myself in that. Then the hair bands, grunge (which i loved), all the screaming guitars and bass for days. Then there was really nothing (minus Metallica, of course) that really hit me. Then I heard "Lydia" and I was hooked. 3:27 The energy, the edginess, the vocals, actually the whole fkn sound. This video really got me when he started covering his face w his hands. Something so minuscule but deeply moving. Keep going guys. You've got a fan for as long as I'm still breathing.🤘
Such nihilistic lyrics. They've taken all the cliche 'life and love' song lyrics and written something flipping them off. Showing the opposite spectrum of people who don't get such idealistic experiences[ which is also closer to reality]. I'm glad stuff like this also exists.
I need to know if you ever stopped listening to it since a year ago as when u committed on here. I wanna know because I'm not sure if I will ever stop listening to it.
I seen them in concert lastnight in New Orleans 💕 great performance, I love their energy. And johnny is such a genuine guy. He talked on mental health, which really made me love their music more.
28. Going through a divorce. Is what it is. But I realized that I haven't been single for more than a few months since I was 15. Thought of this song a few days ago. Realized it had a whole new meaning to me. Used to think it was about depression. Maybe it is, maybe Im wrong. But I think it's about doing you. Doing what you want. Finding what makes you happy, because doing what everyone else expects you to do is bullshit. At the end of the day, if you're not happy, you're not doing anyone else any favors. I'm gonna run off to Nevada, leave Louisville behind, and do my own thing. Because I can. And I've gotta figure myself out. And thats okay.
Dude I have a story for you! I too just got divorced and am in the same head space about doing what makes me happy is all that matters. Look me up, my story gets a lot more crazier. Jason Bradley west suburban bank. I burned my life of 15 years to the ground. I purposely went and did something I couldn’t walk away from. Well I’m out of prison for that and now literally starting my life over. My life has had the craziest turn of events in the last 2 years man! It’s damn near unbelievable that this is where I’m at in life from what I had then what I did out of, anger, depression, hopelessness, self pity. It’s unreal
There’s so much to my story it’s like a fucking movie. Good luck on your adventure, if you ever wanna chat hit me up here. I did find a purpose from my crazy story. Life is fucking hard man, and it sucks and it hurts, but there’s so much more out there for us and you and me! I had to lose everything in my life/like suicide but I didn’t die, to appreciate things and realize what is important.
@jasonbradley6120 Well that's one way to get the ball rolling. Or not lol. Depends on how you look at it, I guess. That's a wild moment when you wake up and realize it just ain't right. None of it. I guess you self-destruct or just eat the hit and figure it out. Either way, you've gotta rebuild it and rebuild it right. Starts with you. Think that's what this song is talking about. Hoped they play it live when I saw them at Louder Than Life a couple years ago, but no dice. Maybe it woulda clicked sooner if I had.
I like how the light comes in and out when he sings "half in and half out of the light". Beautiful
Yesss. He's definitely got great creative peeps on his crew
You've smoked just the right dose:)
Once in a while you stumble across a song that just fits and you never get tired of listening to it. Thank you, Highly Suspect.
Right on! Well put. And My Sentiments Exactly! Bravo! Many Thanks to Highly Suspect ibdeed.
I'm a 30 y/o person that takes estrodiol. . I get your pain

LMFAO... TOO F-ING FUNNY

Literally the part of the song that resonates with me the most

This right here. We all need to get back to it.
Definitely my favorite verse ❤️

Sounds a little like Montrose.love it.
Yes that's why I am hooked! It's like grunge and bush lol
I love them
Rock is not dead
I'm an old rocker who's glad to hear this new music containing some passion and feeling. Really reaches into the heart and soul of what it's like to be an outcast in our society, as I've been my entire life.
Edit. Wow,i was just commenting from the heart and it just blew up. Thanks to everyone that liked my comment and replied. Even if wasn't a positive reply, i thank you again. Keep rocking Johnny. Keep putting out heart felt music and the world will continue to listen
Agreed!
U use two
I know right. You can tell this mans band has some serious soul that goes deeeep, lyrically and instrumentally.
Definitely did not see the blues coming from them being "my name is human" was my introduction to them! Glad I looked into them more.
Agreed, seems there is more times between finding great bands when we're older, but they're worth waiting for eh!
Anyone with depression has had this conversation with themselves many times before. The sad endings happen when it doesn't go so well.
Perfectly said ❤
It's just an endless loop of the same conversation while being trapped in a sick world.
Stupid Google: That was heavy.
oh, yay! i found the depression circle-jerk. let's see who really, really, really gets depression... mainstream rock really gets depression hmmm that _is_ suspect

@@chealzb2518 ikr💔
Same here man same
0:27: imagine having only a few moments of something greater than yourself and then trying to put it into words...
The fuck does that even mean?
The vocalists theatrics are sick as hell and the guitars are dope. "I'm afraid of you, just that I'm not that good of a person".
Half in and half out of the light. Priceless

"I'm not that good of a person but I might be enough for you" Love these lyrics
This guy is a brilliant lyricist!
Humble and condescending at the same time. BD energy. Total fukkin boss move.
Yes
Feel this so deeply.
Absolutely brilliant song.❤️
This song evokes so much emotion for me. The guitar just tickles every little bit of my emotional brain and sends me into euphoric tears almost every time. Serotonia was such a god damn perfect name for this song. This is art.
Highly suspect is the closest will get to the sound of 90s rock again.
They have those vibes strong.
Blues based rock n' roll. I'm glad there was a fresh breath of air for a moment.
Is anyone else addicted to this song? My friend turned me onto "My Name is Human," which is a fantastic song, too, but this song ... this is the song I can't stop listening to....
Yes...mah faaaaaav.
Same
Try "Wolf"...
same experience, but kimberly's right, I think wolf is probably their best song.
I consider it my theme song, and it has gotten me laid a few times.
Now this ladies and gentlemen is a got damn rockstar.
He is a legend 👌👌🖤
Sam Carroll Serious front man swag! Like Liam Gallagher from Oasis band in the 90s.
100% agree
Oh yeah start slammin in the arrests!!

Fuck I live for this testimony 🙏
I can't stop watching Johnny... he's the most beautiful man I think I've ever seen
You've never seen me ;)
Yeah I'm not even gay and I agree.
I heard he's not that good of a person tho
Tyler Keifer I see what you did there
hope he stops getting tattoos on his face and stops doing as much drugs he really gained some weight
Anyone who has ever felt true depression instantly knows what he's talking about. You just want to feel alive again and you don't know what to do...
M Ren I didn't know that anyone could ever feel that way like me...I didn't even know somoene could do that and even describe it
I think there might be some drug abuse in there too
I wish that everyone I knew was dead... So that I'd never have to pick up the phone.
I hate my fuckin phone
Jennie Todd yup. The one thing I could throw against the wall then immediately go buy another.
Hyper Chango he isnt really talking about depression, he is just saying he isnt the best person and that you should prepare for yourself. He didnt want to pick the phone up because he didnt want to make anyone feel that pain.
A new rock band that's NOT indie pop, but actually IS rock, and even gets nominated for grammys?
Fucking awesome!
bluesy as shit too. :)
nick supreme seriously, they're great!
what about Royal Blood?
royal blood are pretty good but they're not nominated for grammys. (And had their breakthrough in 2011-12 as opposed to 2015-16)
nick supreme Red Sun Rising

That's a deep truth right there. We all share that feeling Don. We all feel it.
Giggle my ao
Saw Highly Suspect in Manchester last night, however much you dig the releases, they do not compare to the brilliance of the live gig. I cannot understand why they aren't huge.
Anton Haq I think they're only on their first or second album. They'll get there for sure
Anton Haq I saw them live in Bakersfield
Depression is a serious problem. Anger will and can affect us all.
Those first lines were gold
FancyPugChan I know right it's so real
Seriously though.. it definitely sums real depression and its conflicts with healthy relationships.
My wife is moving out in 2 days and this song describes my life perfectly.
This song legit never gets old.
It is about time real music made a comeback
3:30-4:30 prolly one of the best sounds my ears have ever been granted
almost Pink Floyd vibes
This song
On repeat
In my darkest times, lying on the floor feeling nothing and everything all at once
Thank you for this song
I know this feeling. Lying naked on the floor
@@Munchito696 and masturbating all day
You’re not alone 🖤
I fucking herd that
I can totally relate
the part at 2:07 is so satisfying as he says half in and half out of the light his face is split by the light
Haley Hartney omg for real it's so well timed
I listen to music when I paint. I'm actually going to have to take this song off my painting play list because every damn time it comes on I'm rendered helpless, have to stop what I'm doing, and look at him.
He IS a work of art ❤
This song is epic, and I feel pity for anyone who doesn't get this... Raw emotion. We love you jonny
The physical and verbal emotion that he shows in this song is absolutely amazing and spot on.
Facts.💯
“I need to feel something again” damn... I know the feeling.
The feeling of wanting to feel again?
Words spoke to me on a deep level, especially the masturbating part.
Yes
😂😭
You are on the wrong site then. Pornhub my friend.
The Shaper omg lmfao
My nigga.
So incredible live. I spoke to them about how much this song meant to me after the show and they were wholesome as fuck
No matter who you are there's no way you weren't on the verge of crying.
I'm on the verge just reading about it 2 years later lol
Do I keep replaying this video because the song is amazing or because this man is beautiful? I may never know.
Highly Suspect in my honest opinion one of the most underrated bands. I ask just about everyone I run into if they know them they usually say no so I tell them to take a listen. One of my favorite bands and that is standing next to Nirvana and Korn.
levi smith dude you could legit be my doppleganger i love nirvana and korn bro but i got introduced to both like 8 years ago sooooo, not that long
KoRn
Pretty Guapo HAHAHAHAHA
levi smith Underrated? They’ve won 3 Grammy awards.
Oz A music award.
Narcissa Grey pulling those facial expressions off like that is harder than it looks and he does it perfectly that's the most impressive part of the whole video for me
Well said.
Narcissa Grey well said! My thoughts exactly, but u said it better. Thats why people keep coming back watching it again and again. Johnny made a bold move n its paid off. I think your comment is spot on #MCID ONE LOVE ✌ 💋
Narcissa Grey I'm pretty sure he's just really stoned.
Yes, it's utterly mesmerizing (especially if you're stoned lol)
This band is so incredible. Their music has the sound/feel of modernized and elevated 90s grunge to me.
From about 5:21 to about 6:15, Johnny's facial expressions just absolutely melt me 😍😭 shiiitttt
makes you want to do things to him right? ;)
Its so many emotions in that short amount of time
EvilFallenAngel 🤔😂
any female would tell you its true. if she says she aint thinking about it she's lying lol
At least you're honest xD
Saw these dudes at a little ass bar 3 years ago for 25$ when they played this I literally felt it at my core. That opening riff and those opening lyrics are so raw. I hope this band doesn't lose that bluesy side to them all together
Thebopening riff and lyrics then the melt into the sand line and riff are gold.
Welp they lost it hahah
Man I came to say the same....it's a tragedy. I had so much hope for this band.@garrettwilliams1080
@@sunscrave I just saw em live... Not sure what you guys are talking about.
And ur handsome doing it!
👏👏👏👏👏👏 That is fantastic! Hopefully the same will happen for me! I'm so proud of you ❤👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌
chill my friend, going thru the trauma shit here, to me there is no justice, no god or whatsoever, cause no one fought for us, and yet it is expected from us. stay strong
Dude I feel I’m caught between both too the light and the dark and I’m trying so hard to figure it out , and identify my demons
Love. Rise above
That’s one hell of a song. Anyone that thinks Rock, or music videos are dead need to see this.
just recently discovered these guys and have played them non stop since! they're awesome.
Lenny S Same, about time right...
Same here as well! Got both albums on repeat. Can't believe I never discovered them before.
Public comment... I am beyond impressed. This is music . This is purely From the root of creativity from the heart .....
He sings it like hes lived it....a time or two. Hits me in my feels.
I'm old school 70's rock guy, this band has that spirit! There is hope for good rock music to come back to mainstream.
that dudes eye contact and facial expressions are extremely mesmerizing. i think what adds to that is that he is the first real rock &r roll legend we've had a a little while
Yes I agree. Definitely Rock and Roll Legend material. He's hypnotic to look at. I literally have to pull myself away if I want to get anything done the rest of the day.
I used to watch these guys play cover songs at the bar I bounced at on Cape Cod many times before they were well-known. Glad they're getting the recognition they deserve
merrickonfire can i ask wat cover songs they played that you seen?
Yeah tell us about it #MCID ONE LOVE
I found this band because of Aftershock, and I've seen them since in small venues. Best show I've ever been to both times. Amazing powerful music, and one helluva vibe live
I don't know why I get this weird Led Zeppelin, 90s grundge, blues influence. Love it!
Johnny draws alot from Hendrix as well. I heard him play it live and it was fucking amazing!
TheAnimalhouse96744 because we are hearing real music again!
The Rover "You got me rocking when I oughtta be arollin"
Wolf "I was born to rock but now I gotta roll".
"These guys need to be bigger"
-Everyone who knows nothing about them.
(They've been nominated for Grammys 3 times)
(Sold tens of thousands of albums)
(Placed number 3 in Rocks Top 10 modern bands voted by Top Music Magazines)
Don't put these guys anywhere but on the awesome pedistool that they deserve to be on.
L7 Walker yeah but still somehow havent broken into the "mainstream"
Billy Tripp probably wont
Billy Tripp tbh I hope if they break through they keep their sound. If they'll start change into pop I'd have no problem with them never getting into the mainstream.
Millions of albums ? I find it hard.... Anyways, they aren´t in fact big. They aren´t that well known, the fact that you have to tell people what you said proves it. Just compare with Foo Fighters for instance.
lmao Nobody cares. they are a good band.
The beginning had me like *that escalated quickly.*
I was not prepared for that last line
lmfao
Mister Jay yeah like wtf I had it on full blast with my parents in the house
Haha my thoughts also
Was he lying though? lol
This album helped me through a lot of dark times and continues to. Thank you highly suspect.
Same here.. the album has helped me through my tough days after my stroke..
I love when he does that little head bop thing
Oo-Ms Transpicuous_Zorro-oO looks like he’s getting fucked in the ass when that happens hahaha
Abominable Skiman that was what i was thinking
I love "I have enough love for two" and shows two fingers lol
You guys can't make a bad song. Your the best band out there.
Yes
+Dedric Bellizan this a bad song lol
Trueee
+Dedric Bellizan They will be until Royal Blood drops a new album
+Jaylan Schmidt not really royal blood is boring and bland
if your next album doesn't explode i'll be mad.
Fuckin same.
+JustSomeInternetBoob09/97 exactly...these guy are amazing. explode or not I'll be set to get their next album. love these guys
Why would you want it to explode. If it explodes they'll stop playing small venues and they'll go all mainstream and shit. Just sayin
+Maxwell varey I don't think they would but there'd be way too many "I just know the main track" fans lol
But tbh I think they deserve so much more
Honestly one of the greatest songs I've heard in my 20s. Got me through some shit...moving to NYC, getting chewed up and spit out battling depression but gettin it done. The perfect vibe
Hope you bounced back
I've seen too many posts where people try to make comparisons to Highly Suspect's sound. "Johnny sounds like Cornell or Grohl etc. What makes them so good is that there really isn't a good comparison. These guys found their own sound and it's amazing!! Keep up the good work and get your butts to Biloxi Ms...I'm waiting impatiently for the live show!!
there the shit an a new power treio next double trouble.nirvana.bet.
this song brings me some Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Soundgarden all the good old shit
Led Zeppelin
Carlos Amaya definitely some led zeppelin
Kinda sounds like when the levee breaks
I say they sound like Highly Suspect. They got their own style.Listen to their previous albums.
The next Nirvana
I just found out about this band last night listening on spotify...my name is human is a masterpiece. This band is the shit.
Anthony Mailly my name is human is like crack holy shit
Erin Bircher dead ASS. listening to it nonstop. hit 2 prs to it. i fucking love it
my name is human sounds like all those other rap songs on the radio with auto tuned monotonous mumbled singing. such a wasted song.
***** That's like your...opinion, man. Which I don't care for.
Alex Galindo how in hell is that song rap? If anything it sounds pink floyd-ish
They say we become the person we needed when we were at our lowest.
I have never heard that said until now, but I really like that thought
@@StickHits i have said it many times before but in a different way. It rings true for me
Back here for the old Highly Suspect! Missing you guys
Same here mate
Yea I love their old stuff. I know bands change and grow but the new stuff just doesn't hit the same.
What a disturbingly handsome man
I've thought this for a long time lmao
I've thought that too, and I'm a dude.
Right hows he doing that 🤣
@@stephanievaughan5194 it's the cowbell bro
Some would say it’s… highly suspect
We need another rock monster band of this era. Led Zeppelin sized. These guys could fit the bill.
Verse 1]
I wish that everyone I knew was dead
So that I'd never have to pick up the phone
I just wanna be naked
And masturbate all day at home
[Chorus]
California dreamin'
Oh my heart just started screamin'
I think I want to be alive
[Verse 2]
I wish I lived on top of the sunset
Yeah cause Hollywood you know my type
I'll get stoned all night with Lana
Half in and half out of the light
[Chorus]
It's California dreamin'
Yeah
Oh my heart just started screamin'
I think I wanna be alive
[Bridge]
I can feel it too
So what am I waiting for?
I'm afraid of you
It's just I'm not that good of a person
But I might be enough for you
I'm gonna move to California
I'm gonna melt into the sand
Slow dance with Elizabeth Taylor
And Audrey
Bum a cigarette from Cary Grant
Now New York you know I love you
Because you made me who I am
Which is not that good of a person
I need to feel something again
[Outro]
I can feel it too
So what am I waiting for
I'm afraid of you
It's just I'm not that good of a person
But I might be enough for you
And I got enough love for two
I can feel it too
I'm afraid of you
It's just I'm not that good of a person
But I might be enough for you
Perfection, period.
if i'm not listening to Tool, then i'm "Highly Suspect"! good and simple songwriting. and a good looking singer/guitarist. no homo.
Sure(;
I think I love you 😁
I’m a guy and I’d fuck the shit out of him.
*looks in, closes door and walks away.*
Same here with some In This Moment sprinkled in. Both are insanely talented artists in their own rights!!
They sound like an older genre of music past. Wonderful to sit back and just relax and let the mind wander.
Yea man well said. They deff have a late feel to them especially they way Johnny plays guitar an smokes on stage the whole vibe makes u feel like there older than they are. Jus a bad ass band 👍
I honestly thought this fucking band was from the 90s lol
Gives me Pink Floyd vibes in some spots
The entire album has that sound. I love it.
I have always heard a little Chris Cornell in his voice, especially on Send Me An Angel. Yes this song reminds of the 90s.
This song is meaningfull as hell, the instrumental is absolutely dope, the lyrics, the whole band, voice and production ... but everybody is just talking about how hot johnny is. Damn, give music some respect
He knows exactly what he's doing, he likes the attention... he's really not that good of a person.
I love their music it really screams my inner thoughts and feelings . We really can relate to each other
U must be exouniversal
I don't know why but I get a strong pink Floyd vibes from this song
i am 61 and i love them
They are sold out in concert everywhere! One of the baddest bands since the early 2000s
I should really stop listening to this song on repeat or i'm gonna actually make myself get sick of it and I really don't want that to happen.
Goddamn it, the struggle. sigh.
How do you think I feel? Lol. I listen to this song and play it on the guitar almost every day. My Name Is Human is the new obsession though.
JustSomeInternetBoob09/97 I did the same thing about a month ago and was just hooked. I like this as much a vanity and Lydia. which I did the same thing with both songs. I'm still obsessed with this song. and yes #struggleisrealaf
JustSomeInternetBoob09/97 g note
Happens to me with every song i like :/
I do it often.
So excited i just found this band! Sends me vibes back to the early 90s with bands like soundgarden, stone temple pilots, Alice in Chains.... Just found my new addiction! And um yah, he is definitely easy on the peepers 👌
Maybe he is bi. Maybe he's equal opportunity. But he's stupid sexy.
lol, he's straight. check out the song Chicago
Probably is, actually. I just didn't see it being a big deal.
SilverAngel who cares?
6 years later and this song still gives me chills. How the actual fuck is this song not a national treasure?
Comments like this give me comfort in knowing that I'm not alone in feeling baffled and borderline disturbed that other people don't seem to hear what we do. It's like we are a small segment of the population that was born with the gift to recognize this song's beauty.
"So that I'd never have to pick up the phone"
Couldn't be more relevant to me the past 6 months. I'll never forget the first time I heard you guys. And I'll always come back.
dude johnny Stevens is an amazing artist. this video is so simple with so much meaning. snow New York. relaxed in Cali. he bites his tongue to snap out of meditation and make a choice. this dude is deep
What album?
@@XXXXXX-rq5gf The Boy who died Wolf
The expressions on his face...this is probably the best acting I have ever seen in a music video...crazy! Not to mention the music is amazing! HOLY MOLLY!
Sometimes a musician finds some chords and patterns on the guitar along with some simply perfect lyrics that are absolutely perfection and I can't help but to tear up at how this song feels.
I play this on guitar every time I finger one anywhere and someone always sings the lyrics
The “ooh, it’s California dreaming” line is my favourite, the way he sings it too.
Thank you for bringing back the guitar solo! Was lost for so long in rock.
Mark Harris He SHREDS! Amazing! Reminds me of Hendrix! 😍😍😍
Agreed, certain notes, and combinations of notes invoke all sorts of emotional response, very interesting. :)
I love his facial expressions, he is not only an artist but art himself.
Yessssssssss
And a true fan of art. You have to be to put this together
He portrays depression perfectly. And fear
@@AyoJayArr ⁰0
@@sunshinegallegos6630 that's exactly what I was thinking too!
Same
He is insanely good looking
Léa V
Ya ikr lol
GOD YES HE IS
😍💦yes!
Umm beyond good looking.
You obviously haven't seen my sexy 400 pound bod. It drives all the girls crazy.
Such nihilistic lyrics. They've taken all the cliche 'life and love' song lyrics and written something flipping them off. Showing the opposite spectrum of people who don't get such idealistic experiences[ which is also closer to reality]. I'm glad stuff like this also exists.
he truly is gorgeous. love the eye contact, nail polish, voice, tats, eyes, everything
Yeah, I mean what's not to love.
The eye contact kills me....so freaking hot
Have you seen the video for vanity? Cause ooooof what a pretty man
I spent an entire day of my life actively searching for him at a music festival. I just wanted to see it up close lol
Fr tho and I aint even gay
I've had maniac depression for 13 years now and whenever I'm down this song just takes me to a place I need to go 💯
I CAN’T STOP LISTENING TO THIS SONG, IT HAS BEEN A WEEK NOW!!! Not that I have a problem with it 😬
I need to know if you ever stopped listening to it since a year ago as when u committed on here.
I wanna know because I'm not sure if I will ever stop listening to it.
I’ve had it on repeat also.. this and Lydia
Well, it's been more than 3 years for me and I'm still here
I seen them in concert lastnight in New Orleans 💕 great performance, I love their energy. And johnny is such a genuine guy. He talked on mental health, which really made me love their music more.
Thanks guys. You saved another one tonight.
This guy is my new obsession. 😍💕
