Removing it from the back is infinitely easier. It's actually held in place by one screw at the front and pressure from the pipe at the back, which is held in place with three screws.
FYI- it is definitely easier from the back. And a bit from the front as well. My screws holding on the high limit switches were attached to both top and bottom parts of the “clam shell” housing.
Hi Charlie, I was referring to the heating coil itself. It was broken and then obviously won't carry a current and heat. It is difficult to see in the video.
@@donnamo129 Thank you for the super fast reply! Ours has no breaks in the coil but the sheet metal its on is cracked in multiple places. No sure that is the cause on ours but we are replacing it anyway. Our problem is that the clothes are getting baked! too hot. We already replaced the thermal fuse but that wasn't the problem.
This video helped me more than any “professional” videos I watched. Thanks for sharing!
It would have been so helpful to see how you removed everything to get to the heat element…
I agree
You guys dont know how much this saved me... thank you!
Thank you .... helped a lot.... only thing I did not do was make note of the wiring ... had to do some research ....
Good job on the video and thanks for the tips. It saved me so much time and frustration!
Great job! Very useful video.

This was EXACTLY the video I never knew I needed lol. Also, the pro tip about going in through the back was invaluable. Thank you!
Great video.

Nice video but why not include the part number?
thank you for the video, can you provide the exact part number you bought? i have the same model dryer and need that part #
Agreed, I need the part number
Except you didn't show us anything about how you got the housing out from the front....all the screws were removed already.
are you referring to the break on the metal and not the coil itself?
