Except you didn't show us anything about how you got the housing out from the front....all the screws were removed already.

Help - got a new relay from amazon and follow instructions exactly and put back together and doesn't work, but hear clicking sound on electronic control board and suggestions?

Removing it from the back is infinitely easier. It's actually held in place by one screw at the front and pressure from the pipe at the back, which is held in place with three screws.

It would have been so helpful to see how you removed everything to get to the heat element…

are you referring to the break on the metal and not the coil itself?

FYI- it is definitely easier from the back. And a bit from the front as well. My screws holding on the high limit switches were attached to both top and bottom parts of the “clam shell” housing.

Hey, we just enabled this fix and it WORKS! Although, I wonder why there is no surge protection leading up to the controller board. Or, what the cause of the surge was initially. We'll take the savings to dinner.

Tom, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to post this video on UA-cam. It was very accurate and straight to the point for correcting the Kenmore Elite F10 Error. I actually fixed my HE5 Elite tonight and it save me $235 for a new control board.

Thank you for this video! My control board looked just like yours with the burnt trace. I just followed all the instructions, and my HE5 is now working again w/o any repair bills.

WHAT IS THE PART NUMBER FOR THE HE5 ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOARD. I DON'T HAVE A SOLDERING IRON SO I WOULD PROBABLY NEED TO GET A NEW BOARD.

i had an Elite Oasis ST dryer with very similar problem-- the trace wasn't burnt... just a single solder on the back of the board had been toasted. one good glob of sauter down in there fixed it. W10111623 (although the board has a Whirlpool board number on it: W10111616 )

Some have they even put me into the special needs class and my brain turned to apple sauce.

What kind of wire did you use? Is it copper wire?
