Hey dude! Thanks so much. That's rad man! Gotta love the old school Death stuff and awesome that you're looking to cover it. Don't be afraid to make it your own as well (you'll see I don't cover it piece by piece 100% as I find what I play a bit more fun to play and probably a bit more thrashy). Good luck and have fun! (:
@@Eirik36 The drums are literally an instrument of repetition more so than any other, furthermore, repitition doesn't mean bad. This song has groove, and to this drummer, that's what matters. I love this album, and if you don't that's cool, but like, I've never understood shitting on other people's harmless interests. It's like shitting on someone for liking makeup, drawing, anime or the like. It literally doesn't affect you whatsoever, so why bother?
@@fmlAllthetime I can understand the drums on this album not being as "creative" or "interesting" than what's on Deaths more recent albums. I generally try and "groove" up the older stuff to make it more fun to play. I do also personally prefer to play the more recent stuff over Deaths older stuff (within reason) and it's more fun to play this stuff live than with the band to speed it up a bit more, etc. It's hard to gage if Eiriks comment is "negative" or not, although there's always lovers/haters, positive/negative people. I do encourage constructive criticism or criticism to grow, although they may just be a person that's hard to please and if so, so be it :)
@@MatthewDevonport Thanks for the reply, it was simply the "almost unlistenable" part that irked me. I don't call anyone's enjoyments, when harmless, basically trash ya know? Seems a bit harsh of a judgement. They're not even _really_ criticizing the parts ya know? They're just saying they suck. It's just frustrating from a person who's interested in pop, rap, metal etc., to see. I can understand fun in variation as well. I started as a drummer attempting to play metal, who loved death metal etc. Simply, some songs like this and others are good when simple. Battery, South of Heaven, Iron Man etc., etc., are all _great_ , they're also all simple and relatively basic. This album has a really ugly raw edge you find in crust punk, thrash and hardcore music and still has groove in a few songs. When the technicality, feel, writing & arrangement and composition all meld into a beautiful groovy pthrashy song, I'm happy ya know? Be well.
Kurt! Haha chea bro! How's things? I used to, but it was when UA-cam was wayyyy harder with the copyrights and took most of my videos down. I am just doing Death covers at the moment as I am in a Death tribute band currently.
@@MatthewDevonport Chur the bro! Good man, good. I've moved to your old home town, so hit me up if you come back for a visit =] Ahhhh I didn't consider the copyright claims, fair call. Good to hear, will upload some footage of band play? Local HB band members? Sorry I can't keep up as easy as most, still no FB.
Hey man, this is the next song I am currently learning for the Death cover band I am in. Doing these recordings take a mammoth amount of time (I do everything from setting up everything, tuning everything, recording, audio/video editing, etc), although I will definitely get that cover online at some point :)
Thanks Scott! Yeah I feel a lot of the early Death stuff isn't say as closer to a metronome as their more recent so it gets a bit harder to keep tight so I definitely understand you man haha. Appreciate the comment!
Dude...your right hand...it's so fn fast...master taking on the masterpiece
Thank you! Plenty to work on with my playing I feel though! Thanks heaps for the support :)
Good job man! I'm making a drum chart for this song and can't wait to cover it!

Amazing cover!
Thank you so much!
Probably the best drum track on SBG
Definitely a fun one to listen and play to! Thanks for commenting!
There’s not many lol. It’s the most repetitive drum patterns on an album lol almost unlistenable

Such a dope cover. The timing on this song is a little confusing for me
