SOME FEET WORK
Переглядів 917 років тому
Won't let me upload to Instagram. Tried to keep it to a minute for that. Some 5 minute footage I edited down to 59. Not a speed contest, no metronome, no triggers. Just the go pro video/audio filming me doing some double kick cam angle shot practice. Probably needs a bit more light down there!
Omsm this is a fuking good drumer
Sick cover dude, my favorite part 02:56
Confrats man, you nailed it. ❤
I LOVEEE the sound of your SNARE, which one did you used back there??
Tight spot man! Climb in from the roof to get behind your kit? LOL...JK. Excellent playing man! Killing it man!
YEAH MAN!
Your right hand is sloppy on the ride and the hi hat work. Left hand didn't miss a beat but you gotta work on that right hand keeping the time. It also took me some time to get this corrected. Great work otherwise
oh man this is a 4 year old video. Ignore that :D
I always found my left hand a bit more laggy than my right xD. You're probably right though, I cbf'd watching the video to look/check out if it is or not. I've quit playing the drums so I won't bother trying to re-upload anything and happy enough with these videos (didn't do too many takes and some of the videos were a first take and then upload). Thanks for checking the video out and commenting!
ooooh my god, nuclear assault on the drums, so good. I love when a drummer adds every symbolnote and all, just metal
Thanks mate! Appreciate the comment :)
Love this song
Great song! Iggor is such a beast and hard not to be an influence.
possible to get drums only as mp3? 🤔
As in my drum audio to the song? I just had a look through some old files and can't find anything related to these videos (I've had a couple of PC upgrades/sells in that time to cover bills). No doubt there's other stuff online you can get for it?
Badd ass bro!!!!!
Thanks mate!!
That snare is absolutely beautifully sounding what the fuck🤣
Thanks man! Probably the best I got it sounded and then kept trying to fuck with it in other videos and ruined it haha. I definitely felt it overwhelming trying to get better at drums/maintain them/edit them/do other life shit so probably overthought it haha. Appreciate the view and comment man!
Чувак это круто, ты очень талантив
Thank you Alexander! Hope you're well dude!
Excellent!
You're excellent for viewing and commenting on this bro, thank you!
@@MatthewDevonport You're very welcome. I was 16 in 1986 and lived near Tampa Florida and DEATH was on my radar and we FKN LOVED IT! Jamming with drummers is my thing. I'm Old & Old school, don't play in bands anymore but I do find some drummers to make my bass cover videos from time to time. If you have a moment, check out my jams! Liked and subscribed....Keep it up and crank it up!
@@FLORIDAROOMJAMS That's rad mad! Right in the scene, super jealous of that haha. Especially being from New Zealand, we don't get a lot of bands come down here. Sounds like you have seen quite a few and agree with the old school stuff being some/most of the best. I put down the sticks last year (for a number of reasons) and actually playing more bass/guitar myself now! Definitely will check out your channel and keep rocking man :D
@@MatthewDevonport Thank you! I was just lucky to live here in the Tampa Bay area and to have a friend who I played on a little leauge baseball team with me. And his older brother was the bass player for Massacre and he would would bring in to school or team practice thier demo & Death demo as they were known as MANTAS back then and bands Possessed King Diamond etc. My high school buddy played bass for Obituary and on Slowly we Rot. So again I was lucky & had a chance to see Obituary rehearse all of Slowly at thier practice space. They were known as Xcutioner before they were signed. Losts of metal and rock history from Florida. Any bands from New Zealand you can recommned to me? You past bands? Rock, thrash or death metal..metal. I'm open to hear anything you recommend.
@@MatthewDevonport Sometimes I jam with drummers and make videos with them. I recently made a video with a drummer named Joey Clark, and that Sepultura "Refuse Resits" turned out really great. I've done two or three videos with him. Really great drummer. I did KISS "SHE" with Tre B on drums. If i am not being too foward to ask you to check the Sepultura one. I also made Motorhead's Killed by Death with Martilli Luca another drummer. I would love to take one of your death covers and give it the Florida Room Jams respect it deserves. I need more Death metal tunes for my channel. My buddies here in the local scene FDMS {Florida Death Metal Scene} busting my balls to do more Florida detah metal. I've only done Obiutary Redneck Stomp with another guitairst and drummer and Death Pull the PLug with my last band Total Carnage. Anyways you wouldnt have to do anything but hope I don't mess up your excellent video HAHA! Zombie Ritual I have focused in on. Anyways thank you again and keep hitting them skins man! CRANK IT UP!!
This.. is the best cover in the world.
I only wish it was haha! A big honor and honestly stoked you enjoyed it. Definitely made the time invested in it all worth it. Hope all is well mate!
Well done!!!
Thanks buddy! Appreciate the comment!
Simplemente...portentoso
Thank you sir! Can and will only do my best. Cheers for checking out the video and commenting!
Great Beneath the Remains tank top dude, I'm from Bosnia which is like the other side of the world from you and I'm glad yall are keeping the Death spirit alive there as I am here with my mates.
Thanks mate! Such a great album and I wish I was actually Iggor Cavalera haha. Such a great drummer. Stoked you watched and enjoyed this vid! Seems to be one of the least popular ones online, but I am proud of my performance at this show. Hope all is well in Bosnia and you're having a great time with your mates!
Such a dope cover. The timing on this song is a little confusing for me
Thanks Scott! Yeah I feel a lot of the early Death stuff isn't say as closer to a metronome as their more recent so it gets a bit harder to keep tight so I definitely understand you man haha. Appreciate the comment!
👍💪✌️🤝🇱🇹
sounds exactly like the song
Thanks Jacoby!! I like to try and play as close to the song as possible for the most part, there's a couple of areas I added a bit more "groove" (to me at least) as I think it's neat and fun to play :)
@@MatthewDevonport definitely the best cover on youtube
It's PERFEKT :-)
Thank you! Appreciate the comment :)
This looks absolutely mindblowing. Im quite decent at guitar and know how easy some things are that look hard to non musicians. Is this the same? Like is this a simple enough song to play on drums or is it really as hard as it looks?
Thanks so much LT! That's awesome to hear! You're a Death fan as well and play their stuff on guitar? Umm I don't really know for sure to be honest, some might find the song super challenging, then others might not after a bit of practice. Really comes down to the hours played playing the song etc. Most things on Human/TSOP are definitely more challenging, although I think in terms of heavy metal drumming they are two of the most challenging albums ever (in my opinion). Gene is my favorite drummer along with Iggor Cavalera though so love all his stuff and feel a bit more "natural" playing his stuff. Hope this answered your question and that you're well!
dude the speed you play at is wicked, youre fast yet calm. Thats some serious skill man, love it!!!!!!!
Thanks Kenny! I've been told I look like a "lazy" drummer because I keep pretty chill haha, but I promise I am putting a lot into the drums when I play. Cymbals are expensive so I don't chuck a lot into those at least. Thanks again for the support man and stoked you're enjoying the videos!
dude you’re sick🤘🤘 pleaseee do crystal mountain🙏🙏🙏 you’ll definitely kill it
Thanks so much Kenny! There's a live video on my channel where I am playing Crystal Mountain (so I know how to play it). Will definitely post it up once I get the recording setup back up and running <3
Great cover bro! Waiting for something from album "Human"
Thanks Ali! I play Secret Face live, now have a soundproof shed at my new place (just need to get carpet on the walls, etc) so that will be uploaded sometime in the year. Learning Together as One and Suicide Machine now that I have more time to focus on this than I have in the last couple of years. Hope you can check them out when they do drop!
@@MatthewDevonport I think they will be great covers. I can't wait for them!
Awesome cover man!you are a BEAST! .death was the best band ever...hello from GREECE!
Thanks so much! I would love to visit Greece one day. Hope all is well with you!
So relaxed... You make it look so easy 😁
Thanks so much! Just recovering now after a cancer scare, although looking forward to getting more videos up next year in 2023!
Good job man! I'm making a drum chart for this song and can't wait to cover it!
Hey dude! Thanks so much. That's rad man! Gotta love the old school Death stuff and awesome that you're looking to cover it. Don't be afraid to make it your own as well (you'll see I don't cover it piece by piece 100% as I find what I play a bit more fun to play and probably a bit more thrashy). Good luck and have fun! (:
Love it mate! Great job 💪🏻
Thanks Ciaran! Appreciate you reaching out!
Probably the best drum track on SBG
Definitely a fun one to listen and play to! Thanks for commenting!
There’s not many lol. It’s the most repetitive drum patterns on an album lol almost unlistenable
@@Eirik36 The drums are literally an instrument of repetition more so than any other, furthermore, repitition doesn't mean bad. This song has groove, and to this drummer, that's what matters. I love this album, and if you don't that's cool, but like, I've never understood shitting on other people's harmless interests. It's like shitting on someone for liking makeup, drawing, anime or the like. It literally doesn't affect you whatsoever, so why bother?
@@fmlAllthetime I can understand the drums on this album not being as "creative" or "interesting" than what's on Deaths more recent albums. I generally try and "groove" up the older stuff to make it more fun to play. I do also personally prefer to play the more recent stuff over Deaths older stuff (within reason) and it's more fun to play this stuff live than with the band to speed it up a bit more, etc. It's hard to gage if Eiriks comment is "negative" or not, although there's always lovers/haters, positive/negative people. I do encourage constructive criticism or criticism to grow, although they may just be a person that's hard to please and if so, so be it :)
@@MatthewDevonport Thanks for the reply, it was simply the "almost unlistenable" part that irked me. I don't call anyone's enjoyments, when harmless, basically trash ya know? Seems a bit harsh of a judgement. They're not even _really_ criticizing the parts ya know? They're just saying they suck. It's just frustrating from a person who's interested in pop, rap, metal etc., to see. I can understand fun in variation as well. I started as a drummer attempting to play metal, who loved death metal etc. Simply, some songs like this and others are good when simple. Battery, South of Heaven, Iron Man etc., etc., are all _great_ , they're also all simple and relatively basic. This album has a really ugly raw edge you find in crust punk, thrash and hardcore music and still has groove in a few songs. When the technicality, feel, writing & arrangement and composition all meld into a beautiful groovy pthrashy song, I'm happy ya know? Be well.
Absolutely fuckin mint I love it
Thanks buddy!
Awesome job dude! Let me ask you something...my buddy and I want to do a Death tribute. Just for fun and to post it in our youtube channel. Would you be willing to share your drum covers with us so that we use them and obviously give you the credit? If yes do you have the "drums only" version? Either way tks and HAIL CHUCK!!
Thanks bro! I'm currently already in a Death tribute band and the guys would probably feel a bit weird if I did that. Also I don't have the audio to these covers anymore (they were on a different PC). Thanks for hitting me up though and appreciate you reaching out! <3
@@MatthewDevonport got it bro!! All cool and totally understand. Keep it up!! HAIL CHUCK!!
Brutal...muy bueno
Thanks buddy!! :D
How many hours of praticing before this amazing result ?
Thanks for the comment man! Ugh who knows haha! This song or just in general? I used to practice up to 3 hours a day every day (just drumming) although that's far from happening now. Just starting to be in a position/motivation to go hard again and get some more covers up. Hope all is well!
Duuude, that was epic! Well done, this song is a favorite of mine and a mutual drumming goal 🤘
Thanks Matthew! (Great name :P) I hope this video helps you (as I personally check out other videos and pick out parts on songs where I can etc). There's definitely a few changes in parts I do in this song that I feel are more "accurate", but as I am sure you know as a drummer that you look to naturally evolve and develop over time and it's good to have your own feel where you want it (my opinion). Keep up the drumming and thanks so much for checking out this video!
Groovy!
Thank you! I am a huge fan of groooove in music and it seems like you are as well! Thanks for checking this out!
Nice touch, nice feeling
Thanks Duncan! I grew up loving Iggor Cavaleras playing a lot so I hope maybe some of his influence comes out in the playing. Appreciate you reaching out!
I'm no drummer but you seem so relaxed while playing what I assume are fast parts it's awesome
Hey thanks Thomas! I just play how I play and still learning/growing :D Thanks for checking the video and channel out.
amazing too..very good job...
Thanks Felix! I was very happy when putting this video out! Thanks for checking it out :)
\m/
brother muy chevere podrias enviarme solo el Sonido de tu Bateria para ponder Guitarras ???
Hey Byron! Thanks for reaching out. I recorded this quite a few years ago and on a different computer that I use now (and didn't back up the audio) so unfortunately I don't have it :(. Appreciate you reaching out though!
oh shiet
Awesome! 🤘🏼😎
Thanks Beric! Definitely a favorite song of mine and my first "hard" song by Death that I learned! Appreciate you checking out the video!
@@MatthewDevonport I love this song! And I love your cover 😉🤘🏼😎 Hugs!
¡Extraordinario trabajo man! ¡Un master en los tambores!
Thank you so much man! Appreciate the comment!
I don't like this part 5:42
Fair enough man! When I upload more Death covers (which now is probably quite a few months away) I won't be putting up something like that. Thanks for watching though!
@@MatthewDevonport I didn't mean that, i'm sorry. I said it because is the part when video ends, not because you put your ig account or something else. I loved the cover!
@@bryanc343 Ah sorry! My mistake haha! That's awesome though man! Really appreciate the support. Means a lot and keeps me motivated to keep learning more songs by them and putting them up :)
Finally a drum cover!
Thank you man! I can see a couple of areas where I (hope) to play it a bit more accurately now, although happy with this video :)
Sounds amazing! Bill Andrews is a seriously underrated drummer.
Thanks Joe! I 100% agree! We play the song Spiritual Healing live now as well and it's awesome drumming and fun to play! Thanks for checking out the video and commenting :)
Sounds like a little bit of Joey Jordison inspiration in there
Joey is the man! Probably comes out I guess! I don't think about him when playing it, but I do think about groove a lot when drumming so that might just come out after years of listening to Skipknot haha. Thanks for watching man!
Now please someone explain why this only has 200 views.
Thanks for your support man!
