10 years ago, I wouldn't have looked at this watch twice. At 40 years old, I can't stop thinking about getting hold of it!

I totally understand, indeed a very good looking timepiece, you should try one of the newer versions. They are all nice but 36mm Is just too small for me.

@@TheTimeCollector I kind of feel that this watch is more jewellery than a timepiece. 39mm is my lowest size I will normally go (love my explorer btw)
This watch sits on its own though, its all about the bracelet. The watch reads as an extension of the bracelet, which at 20mm is still fairly significant. Then there's the material, gold feels heavier and "less" is definitely "more" when it comes to the level of ostentation for some.
That all being said, the 40 is full Baller and looks seriously cash!!! 😆

@@sirjacko79 ahaha for real, 40mm to me is the perfect size. Thank you Mark

I disagree that 36mm is too small. It wears like a glove on my 7.5 wrist

I recently got one at 41 years old. Absolutely beautiful. If you’ve never seen one in the flesh, brace yourself. Pics and videos really don’t do it justice

I have one that is 50 years old. Recently had it fully serviced and there were no replacement parts except gaskets. It is as nice today as the day it was made. Unfortunately, you have to be careful where you wear it as in many cities you become a target of thieves.

A 40mm would look like a huge invicta on your small wrist

Little fact, the 36mm DD measures 47mm end link to end link. Amazing watch.

I’d say that the watch looks the perfect size on you. Stunning piece. I’ve got a Roman numeral, Ivory dial on its way to me next week. Can’t wait

Thank you!, I also think it looks good, I just prefer 40mm watches for the most part. Ivory dial! Pretty cool, I see you big money. Enjoy the watch, thank you again.

Having big hands will make the watch look small regardless of your wrist size

Hello Sir, i greatly appreciate your overview of this goregous watch. Great job. One mild consideration i offer is to change the demonic insignia and music

For sure, it all comes down to preference, I rather have a 40-41 max

I prefer 36 too but that’s because of my wrist size and I like smaller watches. I have friends who I would recommend the 40 as well. It looks great either way

There is no danger zone on Rolex time pieces with the date or day date function. You can update the day or the date when the watch is at any time. No danger to the movement at all. I have three 36mm day dates and I have almost an 8 inch wrist. 36mm President is more than adequate. And the 18238 that is in pristine condition looks better than the modern pieces. I am not on the big watch trend. Never have been. I have been rocking 36mm Rolex's for a long time. Classic baby.

7 1/4 inch wrist here and I wouldn’t consider this in anything but 36mm. The 36mm looks old money while the 40mm looks like new money.

    • @TheTimeCollector

I really think it comes down to what you like to wear, owning a classic model has its occasion. Dress watches should be small. Sure enough the new standards mean to watches to be larger. New or old money is money. But I understand for sure. Thank you

I have only read that you need to get on a special list and that there are a few other steps involved but that its a tough buy unless you go preowned and pay way more
