One of the best videos watched so far to understand the base map. The simplicity and ease make it even better. Thanks a million for making this so easy for everyone. Hat's off to you, bro
Hey thanks. This was one of the hardest videos to make. I feel like my design skills are so rudimentary but at the same time I know you don't need fancy
I think with google maps, you will be fine. But with some subdivisions, you will not know that you are in them unless you know. There are no signs saying fern forest or hawaiian acres but then there are signs for others. Good luck
I'm confused. Shouldn't the arrow indicating North be on the other side of the "N" pointing off the page? I would think if the North side of the property is on the Northeast corner it would be (assuming North is usually at the top of the map if there is no indication otherwise). It seems if North in this case is actually in the lower left corner of the map, you would put the "N" at the bottom of the page. I think it is pretty important to be accurate, since one needs to know this in order to correctly place various plants and trees based on their need for sun and shade.
You caught me. I couldn't remember for the life of me what 1/4 was. My site is an acre and I blanked and did my measurements instead. I just have to change the scale cause the lot ratios are pretty close.
just wanted to leave a comment n thumbs up I don't comment often but I watch all your vids keep up the great work.
Mahalo, I appreciate that
Thank you for this video!
Glad it was helpful. There is a part 2 if you were interested.
Thanks man, great video! Looking forward to the next ones
Mahalo

You're right, I had north wrong...Ooops!
@@HomesteadinHawaii So on your map, is it actually on the top of the page or the bottom?
Your measurements add up to 1.1 acre lot, not 1/4 acre lot. Could you please clarify? I like your channel and attitude. :)

Great video, but I do not see the book in the description.
Mahalo. I'll add that in there.
Is it feasible to purchase a property on the Big Island for around $200,000 cash??
speaking as someone who knows the area a little, sure. it will be in the volcano's path to some degree. Kilauea just erupted today!
Yeah. Right now all over puna $200k can get you a lot.
