You missed some facts... when he was tha Master of werewolves he killed felagund, galadriels brother... he lost his fisical form when numenor fala, but he recovered because the ring was safe, then the kingdons of arnor and gondor was formed and sauron was defeated in the battle of the Last alliance, thats when he lost his fisical form and the ring. Then the nazgul, as the witch king of angmar destroyed the kingdom of arnor and was then defeated by the white concil. After that, sauron became the necromancer, during the time of the hobbit and was defeated by the white concil again. Alter that became the Lord of the rings tales...
