Great to see a channel about scary books. There’s lots about scary movies and games, but I find books tend to be more ambiguous and therefore scarier.

Subscribed for the Stephen King collection, but you’re becoming one of my favorite channels for your recommendations! Im gonna have to check out The Chestnut Man, your description gave me the movie Seven vibes.
And Odd Thomas was the series that actually got me back into reading. I read the first one and within a month I was already waiting for my preorder of the 6th book that wasn’t out yet lol but I can get it not being for everyone. But that was where I fell in love with Koontz….until King took over my life lol

Working my way through all your videos. Love how you don’t drag on and get right into the books. Question - could you make a video with a list of books that scared you or creeped you out the most? Be it short story or full novel. Very curious as to which books scratched that itch for you the most. Mine so far would have to be:
Summer of Night (that dead soldier, and the basement scene)
    Dark Matter by Michele Paver
    Burnt Offerings by Robert Marasco
    The Woman in Black
I’m Thinking of Ending Things (something about the oddity of the world and people just creeped me out)
The Handyman by Bentley Little (the main antagonist is so unsettling)

I only read Odd Thomas. It was years ago however, I loved it a lot. It was the first Koontz book I'd ever read. I moved down the library book shelf and started reading King right afterward.

If you haven't read it, Intensity by Dean Koontz is a fantastic read. Mostly thriller, as the name suggests, with some creepy and supernatural aspects. It really doesn't let up and is hard to put down. I definitely wouldn't consider it traditional horror but it will leave you unsettled and have your heart racing!

    • @jimmymango

Brother Odd was way, way better than the first 2. If you ever have the chance, listen to the audiobook version of it, because David Aaron Baker is probably the best narrator I've ever heard.
