All members of the who had great talent but had it not been for Keith it would’ve never been the wild theatrical rock band it came to be. The music they created with Keith was epic sure they had some hits after Keith but it never had that wild rebellious rock sound they were known for. Keith was the spark he was the power plant behind some of their most iconic songs. Keith was like a raging storm with songs like wont get fooled again, Love rain or me, Can you see the real me ,punk and the godfather among other songs his drumming brought drama to the music and authentic sound of rebellious rock.
Most entertaining drummer ever....plus lit it up live...in my top five drummers all time. Moonie, Mitchell, Ian Paice, Bonham, Van Halen....again my top five....lol
Keith Moon is the greatest drummer of all time. This is from back in the late 60s. On computer bullshit. Just Keith Moon beating the hell out of his drums. He was and will always be the greatest rock drummer ever.
@@justincoard2591 you are truly jealous of the times that us boomers grew up in. Cause we had the greatest rock bands ever and the greatest rock music there will ever be. Stop being so jealous of something you can never have. I lived in the greatest time ever. We did everything we didn't go to a computer to find out SHIT. So grow up and stop being jealous of one of the greatest generations ever in music.
@jasonmichael3108 no I can't but Keith only had one drum lesson. Look it up his Is drum teacher. Said he paid for the basc drum beat. That was it now that's what rock and roll was back in the beginning. That's why he is the greatest rock drummer ever.
Just more evidence that a drummer at birth can only really be a drummer. When placing a drummer into the position of laborer or clerical tasks one two things are going to happen. One, the pace in which the work is set, will be at this tempo throughout the day, Second, after being trained or instructed on the ways to complete the task, they will go to the beat of their inner drummer. So its best not to keep the journey man drummer away from his natural habitat for to long or you are only going to find a lost and confused ,sometimes self medicated individual.
A lot of drummers feel this way. I think it misunderstands what Keith was about. He had pretty rudimentary training, so yeah, what he does isn't technically impressive. Technical prowess didn't interest him much. He was a very reactive player who sought out his own voice. Almost as though his drums were responding to Entwistle's bass, Townshend's guitar, and Daltrey's vocals. He's influential because he took on that role and played with a freeness within the context of the song. That appeals to people, and a lot of drummers borrowed from it and incorporated it into a more disciplined style.
A genius on drums. ❤
Terribly overrated.
@@HankFinkle11so was your mom
Entwhistle never takes his eyes off Moon and Moon never takes his eyes off Townshend
Entwistle*
Moon, best ever in this genre.....
Moon was always fixed in on townsend.he played lead drums
Townsend used to do enough to keep Moon with the band sometimes. Think the windmill was partially created by it.

Happy birthday Moonie.... you're sorely missed.
it's such a shame that we lost such a great character like Keith.
The best drummer ever!

Always knew it was gonna be good when Pete had his boiler suit on
I saw The Who at Fenway Park in Boston in September of 2019 and Pete wore a blue boilermaker suit! The concert was amazing.

@@Thenorthsacevery good drummer either, there's no discussion.
That would be Neil.
One of the craziest high octane drummers ever!!
Listen to his double bass drum work. ❤
The Who was Best Live Band of 1960's & 70's Great ability as a Power Trio. To improvise & stretch out Songs! 🇬🇧

One of the finest musicians I have ever seen perform
Keith was one of the greats.
Crazy azz awesome Rock Star !
Everyone knew that Keith would have quit in a drumbeat if the Beach Boys offered him the job. For real.
Top 3 Greatest Drummers in Rock And Roll Keith Moon (The Who), John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) and Neil Peart (Rush). 🇬🇧🇨🇦
The best drummer of all time!
Hmmm this is a very debatable statement
Nah. Carter Beuford.

Can't count out Mitch Mitchell or Bonham either

Never hearrd of kraftwerk, haven't you
Neil pearl was the best technical drummer. But as far as creativity that crown goes to moon!
Bonham wipes
@@vaporimpulse3615 bro I prefer Keith Moons drumming
Simplemente el mejor de lo mejor en la batería el gran Keith el loco Moon
Just realised the building I live now is where Keith auditioned and got recruited in the band
Grande✌️ improvvisata
They always say Keith played with the vocals...I disagree. He is always Locked in on the guitar... just as Pete is always Locked in on the drums...
I mean, just look at him...locking eyes with Pete...
Der Beste bis heute 😂❤❤
I think at the time 95% of the fans never really knew the level of talent and weight of class they were being subjected to!
Uno de los mejores por siempre... el loco
God 🙏🎉🍾🥃🍷🫡🙏❤️❤️
A most remarkable drummer very few if any could follow. My favourites, Peart, Portnoy, and Bruford would all acknowledge as remarkable too
Genio!❤
So Keith, what instrument do you play in this band?
Keith: Oh yes, I play lead drums!
if you knew anything about the band, you would know that Pete said that first...artatd.
@@hurin_thalion11 ... yes, but it was something that got repeated over the years and is still funny.
My opinion:simple the best ever in rock
Moonie, with all respect, WAS, IS & WILL the 1st drummer of all time. Sorry my dear Dave Grohl
Here he's playing like Mitch Mitchell.
Not even close. Mitchell ran rings around Moon technically.
El más grande de todos!!!!!!
Damn!! Moony is really bashing those drums
❤
He just let that energy flow!
Pretty awesome thrashing!
What footage is this from?

I wanna know this song!
I think it's give me water. They did it live a lot back in the 60s and 70s. I think it is from live at Lee's first live album
yo what song is this
Gene and Buddy WHO..?
The music isn't even the who 😅😅😅😅
played the same fills every song
Powerful drummer, thats why he and Bonham are on a different level. All the others are weak by comparison
Nació para hacer eso.
Loose mo-fo!!!
Why so hard work? It is not necessary. Playing like this ruined him so quickly ..Sad.
Terrible
I think I'm the only drummer who dislikes Keith Moon. He's just sloppy.
And thats why nobodys heard of you and the ENTIRE world knows who keith moon is! Jealousy is not an endearing quality!

Kieth very rarely used a high hat in his drum kits
that is because he said that they were not LOUD ENOUGH so he only used them sometimes while recording a record
Carter Beauford is the best.
